My leopard gecko is a year and a half, when I rescued her at a pet store at 2 months old stressed out and lethargic. I noticed she wasn't eating or pooping and it was 3 days, I made an appointment with Dr. Jackie since Dr. Mader was on vacation. Dr. Jackie looked at Aamira and did a light under the belly test and X-ray to prove our suspicion, she was impact from the sand she was on at the pet store, Dr. Jackie gave Aamira a laxative by mouth and instructed me to give laxative once a day till she passed the obstruction. She saved Aamira. Aamira went from a scrawny runt to a fat tail and is 9" long and 100 grams. The staff are knowledgeable and helpful, Dr. Mader & Dr. Jackie are great. I recommend Marathon Vet clinic 100%

They claim to be certified avian vets but don't believe it. The female vet who saw my little conure did nothing short of hasten her death. None of their bios on the Marathon Veterinary Hospital website says anything about any of them having an avian specialty, even though I specifically asked and was assured that the vet seeing my bird was a certified avian vet. I just checked her bio, which says nothing about being an avian certified or even exotics certified vet. I had an egg bound female sun conure, My best friend of 9 years. The vet who saw her seemed not to even understand how you can kill a bird just by stressing it out, which is very possibly what happened to RD. RD deserved better care. She deserved a chance. All she got in her last hours of life, was terror and pain. The vet didn't even seem to know that an egg bound bird will die in a matter of hours if the egg is not removed. She informed me that the doctor qualified to do the egg extraction would be in the next day and he could do it then if need be. My baby was dead about three minutes later, after she had given her a series of at least four injections in rapid succession, including a double dose of laxatives! . It was too much for her little body to take. Any certified avian vet would have known that and would have understood the gravity of the situation. She called me back, crying and in shock that the bird had died. I would try treating my bird on my own rather than ever take another bird or animal of any kind to these people. In addition, .they try to sell you all sorts of costly and unnecessary medical services, like sedating my baby for a stressful x-ray when it should have been obvious to any avian vet that she was egg bound and needed surgery immediately. Marathon Veterinary Hospital claims to specialize in every kind of animal known man. That alone should be a red flag. It's a crappy small clinic in a pricey area with a captive clientele. I was charged $600 for a two hour stay, RD died, and they even tried to charge me an overnight boarding fee!! When we went to collect her little body, I found out that there was an additional $155 owed. Shameless money grubbing people. Stay away.
