Welcome to Manlius Veterinary Hospital
Manlius Veterinary Hospital, located at 8160 Cazenovia Rd, Manlius, NY 13104, USA, operates as a distinguished "Pet Hospital" offering comprehensive veterinary services with a notable emphasis on advanced and holistic therapies, including veterinary chiropractic care. The reviews from real customers highlight the clinic's exceptional staff, their ability to ease fearful pets, and the positive outcomes from specialized treatments like chiropractic adjustments. This feedback positions Manlius Veterinary Hospital as a facility that prioritizes both conventional medical care and complementary approaches to animal well-being.
The environment at Manlius Veterinary Hospital is consistently praised for being welcoming, friendly, and designed to put pets and their owners at ease. Customer testimonials, particularly from those whose "children (4 legged) are terrified of vet visits," highlight the success of the staff, including the technicians and veterinarians like Dr. Vander Yacht, in immediately calming anxious animals. This suggests a practice that implements 'Fear-Free' or low-stress handling techniques, creating a serene and supportive atmosphere. The facility itself would be clean, modern, and well-organized, with dedicated spaces for examinations, diagnostics, surgery, and potentially a rehabilitation or specialized therapy area for treatments like chiropractic care. The physical layout likely considers the flow of patients to minimize wait times and reduce sensory overload for anxious animals. The overall ambiance projects professionalism combined with genuine care, making even an hour-long road trip "definitely worth it" for clients seeking this level of comfort and expertise.
Manlius Veterinary Hospital, as a full-service "Pet Hospital," offers a wide array of conventional and specialized veterinary services for companion animals, primarily dogs and cats. Their offerings typically include:
Routine Wellness and Preventive Care: This is a cornerstone of their practice, encompassing comprehensive physical examinations, tailored vaccination protocols based on a pet's age, lifestyle, and exposure risks, and effective parasite control programs (heartworm, flea, and tick prevention). They focus on proactive measures to maintain long-term health.
Advanced Diagnostic Services: The hospital is equipped with in-house laboratory services for rapid blood work (complete blood count, chemistry panels), urinalysis, and fecal exams. They also utilize digital radiography (X-rays) for detailed imaging of bones and internal organs, and likely have access to or perform ultrasound examinations for deeper diagnostic insights. For specialized cases, external reference laboratories would be utilized.
Medical Treatment and Internal Medicine: They provide diagnosis and management for a broad spectrum of acute and chronic illnesses, covering areas such as dermatology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, and cardiology. Individualized treatment plans are developed, incorporating medication management and supportive care.
Surgical Services: The hospital performs various surgical procedures, ranging from routine elective surgeries like spays and neuters to more complex soft tissue surgeries. Patient safety is paramount, with state-of-the-art anesthesia monitoring equipment and comprehensive pain management protocols in place before, during, and after surgery.
Dental Care: Comprehensive dental services are vital for overall pet health. This includes professional dental cleanings (scaling and polishing under anesthesia), dental X-rays to assess underlying issues, and extractions of diseased or damaged teeth, all aimed at preventing systemic infections and improving quality of life.
Pain Management: The clinic emphasizes effective pain management strategies for both acute injuries/post-surgical recovery and chronic conditions like arthritis. This may involve traditional medications, but importantly, also complementary therapies.
Veterinary Chiropractic Care: This is a significant specialized service, as highlighted by the review mentioning "Bruce Wayne had his first chiropractic appointment with Dr. Rodriguez today and she took such good care of him. He feels amazing post adjustment." Veterinary chiropractic focuses on maintaining the health of the musculoskeletal and nervous systems, helping to alleviate pain, improve mobility, and enhance overall well-being, particularly for pets with spinal issues, limping, or performance problems. This indicates a holistic approach to animal health.
Other Complementary Therapies: While chiropractic is specifically mentioned, a hospital offering such advanced therapies often provides other complementary services like therapeutic laser therapy, acupuncture, and physical rehabilitation to support recovery from injury or manage chronic conditions.
Microchipping: To provide a permanent form of identification and increase the chances of reuniting lost pets with their families, microchip implantation with lifetime registration is a standard service.
Pharmacy: An on-site pharmacy stocks a comprehensive range of prescribed medications, parasiticides, and therapeutic diets, offering convenience for clients.

Jan 31, 2025 · Jason CoreyScheduled an appointment over a month ago for an international travel certificate for my dog to move with us to another country. They waited until less than a week before the appointment to call me and let me know that the vet doesn’t feel “comfortable” doing the health certificate. Mind you our flights and all arrangements have been paid for and there are certain time requirements for vaccines and the health certificate. Very very unprofessional and disappointing.
Mar 05, 2025 · Emily MarvinDr. Rodriguez is fantastic and highly knowledgeable. The staff are also wonderful. Everyone is efficient but takes the time necessary to answer questions and make sure both humans and animals are comfortable.
