Come in because my dog had a ulster for something simple... then want to keep trying test when they already knew what it was... follow up application went the same... for them to want to take more money for test, follow ups for no necessary reason... would not recommend for simple check ups...

Welcome to Malden Animal Hospital & Kennel

Welcome to Malden Animal Hospital & Kennel, located at 231 Salem St, Malden, MA 02148, USA. Serving the Malden community and surrounding areas, Malden Animal Hospital & Kennel operates as a comprehensive Pet Hospital providing a range of veterinary services alongside boarding facilities for your animal companions. We understand the importance of having a trusted partner in caring for your pets' health and well-being, and we strive to offer a multifaceted approach to meet their diverse needs.

Based on the limited customer feedback available, experiences at Malden Animal Hospital & Kennel appear to present contrasting perspectives. One customer expressed dissatisfaction with their experience, particularly concerning the diagnostic process for what they believed to be a simple issue with their dog. This review suggests a perception of unnecessary testing and follow-up appointments, leading to concerns about the cost-effectiveness of care for routine check-ups. The customer indicated they would not recommend the clinic for simple health concerns based on their experience.

In contrast, another customer shared a positive and appreciative experience regarding the care provided to their two senior dogs, both 16 years of age and experiencing age-related health problems. This reviewer specifically commended the doctors and staff for their caring and helpful approach, highlighting their patience and compassion in working with the pet owner to develop the best plan of action for their aging companions. This testimonial suggests that Malden Animal Hospital & Kennel is recognized for its empathetic and supportive care, particularly for pets with complex or chronic health issues, such as those commonly seen in senior animals.

Given these differing viewpoints, it is important to consider that individual experiences can vary. The positive review emphasizes the hospital's commitment to compassionate care for senior pets, while the negative review raises concerns about the approach to diagnosing and managing simpler conditions. Potential clients may find it beneficial to consider the specific health needs of their pets when evaluating Malden Animal Hospital & Kennel.

As a Pet Hospital with an attached kennel, the environment at Malden Animal Hospital & Kennel likely encompasses both clinical and boarding areas. Key aspects of the environment may include:

  • Veterinary Clinic Area: Examination rooms for consultations and treatments, potentially a surgical suite for procedures, diagnostic imaging capabilities (such as X-ray), and a laboratory for in-house testing. The cleanliness and organization of these areas are crucial for providing quality medical care.
  • Kennel/Boarding Facility: Separate and secure housing for dogs and possibly cats, providing a temporary home for pets when their owners are away. This area should offer comfortable bedding, adequate space, and opportunities for exercise and socialization (if appropriate and safe for the individual pet). Cleanliness, temperature control, and ventilation are essential in a boarding environment to ensure the health and well-being of the animals.
  • Waiting Area: A reception area for pet owners to check in, wait for appointments, and interact with staff. A welcoming and organized waiting area can contribute to a positive client experience.

The Doctors and staff have been very caring and helpful with Bandit and Velvet. They are both 16 yrs of age and are now experiencing health problems. I appreciate their patience and compassion in working with us for the best plan of action. Many thanks from all of us. 馃惥馃惥

I just yesterday said goodbye to my beautiful dog of 13 years, Chiky. She was a purebred American mongrel that we got from the animal shelter for my son as a Christmas present in 2009. Malden Animal Hospital was over the top the BEST and Dr. Shinohara was beyond the BEST!! She was everything we could hope for. When Chiky first had problems of vertigo, Dr. Shinohara treated her and we had another four months before a relapse where she did not respond to treatment. She was actually quite excited to go to the vet (she loved it there), and Dr. Shinohara made sure that her last moments were peaceful. They placed blankets on the floor and my baby went to sleep peacefully with her family petting her gently. Nothing but the highest praise. I have to stop now because I am crying, but my deepest thanks go out to Dr. Shinohara and the Malden Animal Hospital.

This place is great. Caring and reliable staff, veterinarians and assistants. Vet actually called me to discuss issues with my pet, which is amazing. They really care about their patients and their owners. Thanks for offering such world class service at a local vet hospital. I appreciate it.

My cats were patients at Malden animal clinic from October 2022 through March 2024. My experiences were okay except with the front desk. I had to call repeatedly to have my records sent over to a new vet because I moved and today around 2 pm I had a foster agency reach out because we are looking to adopt a dog and they told the agency that I had only been there one time and then proceeded to hang up on them rudely. With these last interactions I wish I would鈥檝e only gone there once.
