Overall, amazing experience. The prices here were great, the staff were kind, and they went above and beyond for my pup. The only thing that could be improved is their communication. I had tried to call the office to ask a question and it sent me straight to voicemail. The voicemail box was also full. Other than that, my experience was flawless and I will definitely be returning for my future pets.

Major Mike Shipley Spay & Neuter Clinic Introduce

For pet owners in Cookeville and the wider Upper Cumberland region of Tennessee, **Major Mike Shipley Spay & Neuter Clinic** stands as a crucial resource within the "Pet Hospital" category. Located at **180 Miller Rd, Cookeville, TN 38501, USA**, and reachable by phone at **(931) 854-5055** or mobile at **+1 931-854-5055**, this clinic is specifically dedicated to addressing pet overpopulation through affordable and professional spay and neuter services. Their mission-driven approach, often operating as a non-profit, makes essential veterinary care accessible to families who might otherwise struggle with the cost of these crucial procedures.

The environment at Major Mike Shipley Spay & Neuter Clinic is geared towards efficiency and care, focusing on the specific procedures they offer. While it may not be a full-service veterinary clinic with a wide array of treatments for all ailments, its specialized nature means that the staff and facilities are optimized for spay and neuter surgeries. Clients consistently describe the staff as friendly and professional, creating a welcoming and reassuring atmosphere for both pets and their owners. Despite the sometimes stressful nature of surgical procedures, the clinic strives to make the experience as comfortable as possible for the animals, ensuring they feel well-cared for from arrival to discharge. The streamlined process, from check-in to post-operative care, is designed to be smooth and efficient, reflecting their commitment to high-volume, high-quality sterilization services.

The primary service offered by Major Mike Shipley Spay & Neuter Clinic is, as its name suggests, spaying and neutering for dogs and cats. These procedures are fundamental to pet health and population control. Beyond the core surgeries, the clinic often includes essential complementary services. For instance, rabies vaccinations are typically included with all spay/neuter surgeries for animals old enough to receive them. They may also offer additional services at the time of surgery for a nominal fee, such as microchipping, other vaccinations (like FVRCP, DA2PP, FELV, Bordatella), nail trims, fecal exams, heartworm tests, and Feline Leukemia/FIV tests. Pre-surgical blood work, including complete blood count (CBC) and pre-surgical panels, is available to assess organ function and overall health, helping veterinarians determine the safest anesthesia protocols and surgical risks. This comprehensive approach ensures that pets not only undergo the necessary sterilization but also receive important preventative care during their visit.

A key feature of Major Mike Shipley Spay & Neuter Clinic is its commitment to providing **low-cost services**. This affordability is repeatedly highlighted by satisfied customers as a major benefit. The clinic aims to be the only low-cost spay and neuter option in the 14 counties of the Upper Cumberland region, making a significant impact on animal welfare by reducing the number of unwanted pets. While the prices are kept low, the quality of care is not compromised. Reviewers frequently praise the professional and caring nature of the staff, indicating that pets are well-cared for and come out "feeling better than expected." This balance of affordability and high-quality care is a hallmark of their operation. Furthermore, the clinic may offer subsidies or financial assistance for residents of specific counties, such as Overton, White, and Jackson, demonstrating their dedication to ensuring that financial constraints do not prevent pets from receiving essential sterilization procedures. They also apply a "breeder fee" for intact animals used for breeding, ensuring their services are primarily utilized to support community efforts in controlling pet overpopulation.

For promotional information, the clinic's stellar reputation for being "amazing" and offering "great prices" combined with "kind staff" serves as its most powerful marketing tool. Word-of-mouth recommendations are strong indicators of client satisfaction, as evidenced by reviews stating, "We highly recommend this place to all pet owners!" and "I will definitely be returning for my future pets." The clinic's focus on a specialized service means they can excel in that area, providing expert care for spay and neuter procedures. While one review mentioned a potential area for improvement in communication, particularly regarding phone calls, the overall positive feedback on the care provided far outweighs this. The clinic's mission to combat pet overpopulation resonates with many animal lovers, encouraging support not only through utilizing their services but also through donations, as they often operate as a non-profit organization. Their dedication to responsible pet ownership and community well-being is a core part of their identity and appeal.

In summary, Major Mike Shipley Spay & Neuter Clinic is an indispensable part of the Cookeville community's pet care infrastructure. It provides essential, affordable, and high-quality spay and neuter services, contributing significantly to the health and welfare of countless pets and helping to manage the pet population. Their dedicated staff and efficient, compassionate approach make them a highly recommended choice for pet owners seeking these specific veterinary procedures.
