I couldn’t be more thankful and grateful to have found Madison Animal Hospital over 5 years ago now. I have worked with a few doctors at Madison — primarily Dr. Samuelson and each time they’re all consistent with delivering the best options and care for my fur babies! They are always up front and realistic with you in every visit which I can truly respect and appreciate the most. It’s not just about $ to them. They show time and time again that they genuinely care about you and your animals! Recently, I had to make the hardest decision nobody ever wants to make, euthanasia. I’ve had lilo and stitch for over ten years now and was blessed to have five of those years primarily under Dr. Samuelson’s care. Lilo fought cushings disease for almost 4 years alone and when we both saw the medication wasn’t really making or breaking her - Dr. Sam was totally understanding of finances and agreed to discontinue testing and she truly lived the best life a chihuahua could. I never thought I would have ever been able to make that decision or follow through with it because several times I thought LILOs last was her last, she proved me wrong! She had nine lives and luckily blessed me with all of them and Dr. Sam too ♥️ the entire staff was so compassionate during the whole process and made the hardest decision and overall most difficult time just a little bit easier which I could not ever repay them enough for the kindness and love they showed me and stitch! Thank you so much Dr. Samuelson and other providers who have helped my lilo and stitch along the way & the entire team at Madison Animal Hospital. I couldn't recommend a better veterinary hospital out there nationwide than Madison!

I have had many dogs and several vets. I came back to Madison today because I remember how they treated me and my dogs on a prior visit, They are all so personable and kind. My dogs and I really appreciate how we were treated here. I can’t thank you enough for your attention this morning with Lucy. She felt special and knew exactly why we were there. I loved the shots experience with my dogs years ago. I’ve never found anyone better than this so I’m back. Thank you once again for a positive experience. My dog had no fear and I’ve never felt this strongly about a business before. I can’t even express what this visit meant to me. Your expertise on what matters well exceeded my expectations. Top notch service - I have been in and out of this office on probably 5 separate occasions within the last month. My 18 month old golden doodle had a massive seizure. The morning of, they got me in by 8 am, made sure he was safe, even checked on my injuries, and made a care plan to assess him and make sure he was healthy. They offer interest free payment plans, which was incredibly appreciated and helpful. Several days later, my 14-year-old pup started to act very poorly. They got her in asap on a Saturday. They drew a massive blood panel on her and by Monday morning they called me informing me she had previous internal bleeding and I needed to bring her in right away. The vet called me asap, got the ultrasound tech out same day, and rather than waiting for the radiology results the next day, he stood over his shoulder and met me in the lobby when I came to pick her up to inform me she had cancer. The bleeding had stopped, so we decided to cherish the time we had left. It was very personal and I appreciated not hanging in limbo for results. We unfortunately had to make the decision yesterday to put our sweet girl down. She began to act very poorly, and they quickly coordinated her care on a Saturday. The team met me at my truck with a gurney, wheeled her in, and quickly assessed the situation. After an ultrasound confirmed that she had extensive and severe internal bleeding, we made the heart wrenching decision. The staff was absolutely amazing. I was there with my 12 and 8 year old sons and they were so kind. They went above and beyond making sure we felt comfortable, not rushed in the slightest, they encouraged us to spend as much time as we wanted to with her, and they waited for us to tell them when we were ready to say goodbye before they even contemplated euthanizing. They provided plates of treats, blankets, and whatever comforts they could to help us say goodbye. When we decided we were ready, the vet came in. She was incredibly gentle and made sure to explain everything to my boys, as they insisted on being there and would not let her pass alone. She explained what they might see, what not to be afraid of, and was thorough, explaining every single step that was being taken. She also informed us the moment that she passed. She sat with us and cried with us. After her passing, the staff even helped watch my younger son when my 12 year-old had a meltdown. They brought him back in when the situation was resolved and allowed us to stay with her for another hour and a half. They constantly checked in on us and provided all of the paw print/fur souvenirs for my boys. There was no coldhearted quick turnover, there was nothing but compassion and kindness. Our baby girl has been a staple of our family. I have had her since I was 19 years old, my children have never known a day of life without her. Her loss hit us very hard. I will never forget the compassion that this team showed my boys and I. I will forever cherish how caring and gentle they were during such a tender time. I appreciate all of the effort to make us feel comfortable and to make our sweet lady feel loved. I bawled my eyes out this morning when I received an unexpected flower delivery from their office with their condolences for our sweet baby. I will never forget their efforts to make sure her passing was as peaceful and positive as it possibly could be. From the bottom of our hearts, you made the passing of our Narcissa bearable and memorable, as hard as it was. Thank you!!

Madison Animal Hospital is incredibly welcoming and professional. It truly felt like the priority was our dog’s health and comfort throughout the whole visit. We felt very at ease and heard throughout the whole interaction, such as with the thoughtful advice given related to our specific concerns. Each member of the staff we interacted with was kind, helpful, and compassionate towards the pets in their care. The vaccine for life program is great and we felt like there was no pressure to purchase products from the vet if our other prescriptions through Chewy had been working well thus far. We’ve had some vet experiences previously that felt money motivated or dismissive, and we had a totally opposite and supportive experience at this clinic, which was wonderful. Overall, we really enjoyed our experience here and feel very safe with our dog’s care in their hands!

A really lovely experience from beginning to end. Everyone was so nice. The vet and technician were informative, helpful, and took the time to explain various options for our doggo Frank. Priced fairly and will absolutely be taking my other animals here!
