All in all I think they are all about the money. Have taken my dog in a few times for Allergies. Have tried many different remedies, oral, injections, pet products from the vet and my dog has gotten worse losing most of her hair when it started out just one bald patch. Honestly think she being used as an experiment since nothing they do has even slightly worked when I was told they new exactly what her problem was. I call and leave messages and send pictures for them to see her condition early in the morning and still can't get a call before they close. Ridiculous! Think it's time for me to find another vet

Welcome to Machias Veterinary Clinic

Machias Veterinary Clinic, situated at 9379 Main St, Machias, NY 14101, USA, serves as a local "Pet Hospital" dedicated to providing veterinary care for beloved animal companions. With a phone number of (716) 353-4441 and mobile phone +1 716-353-4441, the clinic aims to be accessible for pet owners in the Machias area. The clinic emphasizes a commitment to modern equipment, state-of-the-art procedures, and a personal touch, measuring its success by the happiness and good health of the pets they treat.

The facility strives to create a welcoming and comfortable environment for pets and their owners. While specific details about the waiting area or examination rooms aren't extensively provided, a "Pet Hospital" typically maintains a clean and organized space to minimize stress for animals during their visit. The overall atmosphere aims to support thorough consultations and careful examinations, ensuring the best possible diagnosis and treatment outcomes. Dr. Todd Myers, DVM, who acquired the Machias Veterinary Clinic in the summer of 2006, brings a wealth of experience, having graduated from Purdue in 1989 and previously operated his own small animal clinic.

Machias Veterinary Clinic offers a comprehensive array of services designed to address various aspects of pet health. These services include, but are not limited to:

  • General examination and treatment for dogs and cats, covering routine check-ups and addressing common ailments.
  • Immunization programs for dogs and cats, crucial for preventing various diseases and maintaining a pet's long-term health. The clinic also provides health certificates and consultations for international pet travel, assisting owners with the necessary documentation for global movement of their companions.
  • Microchip implants, offering a reliable form of permanent identification for pets, which can be invaluable in case they get lost.
  • Expert advice on feeding, catering to various needs such as puppy nutrition, weight management for overweight animals, and specialized diets for particular diseases like food allergies, diabetes, and kidney or liver conditions.
  • Extensive laboratory testing capabilities, including blood analysis to screen for conditions such as diabetes and kidney disease, tests for fungal and bacterial infections, and microscopic examinations for various parasites found in blood, feces, or on the skin. These diagnostic tools are vital for accurate and timely diagnoses.
  • A forward-thinking approach that incorporates alternative medicine, such as homeopathic and herbal medications, offering additional treatment options for pet owners who may be seeking complementary therapies.

The clinic states that estimates are always provided prior to starting any treatment, fostering transparency in billing. For instance, the fee for a consultation is approximately $55.00, and a general check-up is currently around $46.00. They accept various forms of payment, including cash, check, debit cards, credit cards (Mastercard, Visa, Discover), and CareCredit, offering flexibility for clients. While specific ongoing promotions are not widely publicized, pet hospitals often participate in programs like CareCredit which allow for financing of veterinary expenses. Additionally, general promotions seen in the veterinary industry include new client specials, referral programs where both referrer and referred receive benefits, and incentives for online reviews, which contribute to community engagement and client satisfaction. It is advisable for potential clients to inquire directly with Machias Veterinary Clinic about any current promotional offers or wellness plans that might be available.

Customer feedback, as with any service, varies. One review highlights concerns about the clinic's focus on cost and a perceived lack of effectiveness in treating a dog's allergies, mentioning a struggle with communication regarding updates on the pet's condition. This feedback points to the importance of consistent communication and effective treatment plans. Conversely, another review offers a strong recommendation, praising "Dr. Myers’s and his staff" for being "absolutely wonderful with my little fur baby," suggesting a positive experience and compassionate care from that client's perspective. These contrasting views underscore the subjective nature of client experiences and the varied needs and expectations of pet owners. It is important for individuals to consider a range of reviews and, if possible, visit the clinic or have a consultation to determine if it aligns with their specific needs and expectations for their pet's care.

In summary, Machias Veterinary Clinic aims to provide essential and comprehensive veterinary services to the Machias community, operating as a dedicated Pet Hospital. They offer a blend of conventional and alternative medicine, emphasizing thorough diagnosis and treatment. Their commitment to transparent pricing and flexible payment options, alongside a focus on modern procedures, contributes to their service offering in the local pet care landscape. Prospective clients are encouraged to contact the clinic directly to discuss their pet's needs and inquire about specific services or any current promotions that may be available.

All the girls were really nice. We got in and out quickly, too. I thought it was weird that the doctor took him out of the room to give my dog her physical, though. He didn't do it in the room we went in. Also, I never even heard him talk to the dog. When I was there years ago, I loved everything about the visit.
