I have taken my pets to your Petco locations in Shrewsbury and Auburn locations for many years. On Saturday 07/20, I had a very bad experiance at your Auburn location. My Samoyed is 13 years old. The technician was trying to draw blood from his right leg and he yelped, she reattempted it and the same thing happened. I was very upset and asked her why she did that and her response was that she could not find the vein. I feel that she should be more compassionate with a senior dog. He was slightly lethargic for about 2 days after this and I had to give him Rymadil for his arthritis. I did complain to the supervisor. I just want to let you know that I will not be bringing my pets to you anymore in the future.

Welcome to Luv My Pet Inc
Located at 420 Maple St STE 3, Marlborough, MA 01752, USA, Luv My Pet Inc operates within the "Pet Hospital" category, primarily focusing on providing accessible and affordable wellness services for pets. This practice is often recognized for its convenient presence within larger retail environments like Petco, making basic veterinary care more readily available to a wider audience. For inquiries or to confirm service availability, you can reach them at (508) 481-0580. Luv My Pet Inc aims to deliver essential pet health services, often at a more economical price point compared to traditional full-service veterinary hospitals.
The environment for Luv My Pet Inc's services, particularly within Petco locations, typically involves a designated area within the store where veterinary professionals conduct examinations and administer treatments. While this setup offers convenience and often a less intimidating atmosphere than a full surgical hospital, the specific environment can vary. As indicated by customer feedback, some services might be conducted in more open, front-of-store areas, which, while increasing accessibility, could also lead to distractions or less privacy for sensitive procedures. The primary benefit of this type of setup is its accessibility and the integration of pet care within a regular shopping trip, potentially reducing the perceived barrier to veterinary visits for routine needs. The goal is to create an environment where pet owners can easily access basic health services without the formality or higher costs often associated with a traditional veterinary clinic.
Luv My Pet Inc primarily specializes in wellness and preventive care services, offering a streamlined approach to common pet health needs. While the comprehensive services of a full-scale "Pet Hospital" like emergency surgery or extensive diagnostics might not be their core offering, they excel in providing essential services such as:
- Vaccinations: A core service, providing protection against common canine and feline diseases. This often includes rabies, distemper, parvovirus, and other crucial immunizations tailored to age and lifestyle.
- Microchipping: An important service for pet identification and recovery in case of loss.
- Parasite Prevention and Control: Offering solutions for fleas, ticks, heartworms, and intestinal parasites.
- Basic Health Exams: Routine check-ups to assess a pet's general health, identify potential issues early, and discuss nutritional and behavioral concerns.
- Diagnostic Testing: Often limited to basic tests like fecal exams for parasites or initial blood screenings, primarily aimed at wellness rather than complex illness diagnosis.
The emphasis is on delivering these services efficiently and affordably, making preventive pet healthcare accessible to a broader demographic of pet owners. Their model often focuses on walk-in clinics or scheduled appointments for specific wellness services, rather than comprehensive medical treatments for acute illnesses or complex conditions requiring advanced surgical or diagnostic equipment.
The distinguishing features of Luv My Pet Inc largely revolve around its affordability and convenience. The ability to access veterinary care within a retail setting means that pet owners can integrate their pet's health needs into their regular errands. The "great product for the price" sentiment from a customer underscores the value proposition of these services, making essential care more attainable for many. This low-cost model is a significant draw, especially for routine vaccinations and basic check-ups, which are critical for pet health but can be a financial burden at full-service clinics.
However, customer reviews also shed light on certain aspects of their operations that warrant attention. One customer detailed a "very bad experience" involving their 13-year-old Samoyed needing a blood draw. The client felt the technician lacked compassion, causing distress to the senior dog. The subsequent lethargy and need for pain medication after the incident highlight the importance of gentle handling, especially for older or more sensitive animals. Another review mentioned a technician who "almost squeezed the life out of my little dog" and reacted poorly to being bitten, indicating a potential need for more consistent training or compassion in handling. This review also pointed out that procedures sometimes occur "in the front of the store and not in back where it usually is done," which can affect the pet's comfort and privacy. While the veterinarians are generally well-regarded ("Love the Veteranarian hate the tech"), the inconsistency in technician compassion and the open environment for some procedures are points for consideration for potential clients.
Despite these varied experiences, the core feature remains the accessibility of essential wellness care at a more economical price point. For pet owners prioritizing routine preventive care and cost-effectiveness, Luv My Pet Inc offers a viable option. The ability to receive basic health services without the need for extensive appointments or the higher fees of a traditional hospital is a significant advantage for many.
In terms of promotional information, Luv My Pet Inc primarily promotes itself through its value proposition: affordable and convenient pet wellness services. Their presence within well-known retail chains like Petco inherently provides visibility and suggests accessibility. While specific current promotions would need to be confirmed by contacting the Marlborough location directly at (508) 481-0580, their consistent offering of essential services at competitive prices is their ongoing promotional strategy. They appeal to pet owners who are looking for a straightforward, cost-effective way to keep their pets up-to-date on vaccinations and basic health checks. The company's focus is on making preventive pet care less daunting and more achievable for a wider range of pet owners. Prospective clients seeking affordable routine care should consider Luv My Pet Inc, keeping in mind the importance of communicating their pet's specific needs, especially for senior or anxious animals, to ensure the best possible experience during their visit.
