We had such a great experience at Louisville Veterinary Urgent Care. Excellent, efficient, and convenient care! My dog broke out in hives, and I needed to get her seen. It was easy to make an appointment online and get seen same day. Dr. Pelfrey and staff were welcoming and informative. They were so good with my dog and gave her appropriate treatment. Plus, this office is locally owned, which feels hard to find in vet care. Highly recommend!

Feb 09, 2025 · Dare SuttonI have a 16 year old fur baby who has very high anxiety, but he was so calm and well behaved during the whole process. After taking samples, they presented me with treatment options, and gave us as much time as we needed. They were very empathetic and respected our decision. I live in Madison, Indiana, but the hour drive was worth the service we received. Very clean office and the best part (at least for my baby) was the treats he was given. I will definitely use them the next time for all my fur baby's needs!
Feb 04, 2025 · Carolyn MendezIf you’re looking for high-quality after-hours veterinary urgent care in Louisville, I highly recommend Louisville Veterinary Urgent Care. We recently had an emergency with my mother’s show dog, who had a severe paw injury while at the Louisville dog show—a deep laceration that went through the full thickness of her pad and webbing. It was an incredibly stressful situation, but Dr. Pelfrey and his amazing team (including Brittany and Dakota) provided exceptional care from start to finish. They were not only highly skilled and professional but also so considerate and gentle in their handling of Misty. The exam rooms look more like a living room so the dogs (we had both along due to timing of the injury) were literally playing, jumping on and off the couch, and into the laps of the staff while we were checked in and they did their exam. They had no clue they were at the vet! They performed advanced monitoring while she was under and excellent pain management throughout. They were able to sedate her within minutes of arrival and perform the full wound repair onsite that same evening—in half the time or far less than it would have taken had we gone to an inundated ER clinic. And because she’s a show dog, they were even thoughtful about how they clipped and shaved her paw to preserve her coat’s appearance while ensuring it would heal perfectly. Their team also handled our Trupanion insurance claim at check out, which made the process smooth and stress-free. The next day, they followed up with a personal call to check on her recovery—such a thoughtful touch. If your pet needs urgent veterinary care in Louisville, this is a fantastic choice. Compassionate staff, top-tier medical care, and a real commitment to both pets and their people.
Apr 08, 2025 · Heather BlakemanThey helped my baby Bear so much with his swollen eye today. Honestly my favorite vet experience I’ve had with my baby boy. He had SO much swelling in his upper eyelid that they determined was most likely from a sting or bite. He received a steroid shot and Benadryl shot, along with a topical antibiotic. He was already starting to get better on the drive home! Thank you so much! Everyone should go here for their pets urgent health needs! Thank you 🩷
Oct 28, 2024 · Karlin KimmelDr. Pelefry drove through icy conditions to help our dog and someone else's cat when everything in the city was closed except for one emergency vet. He was kind, efficient, skilled, and even helped us carry our big girl out to the car. The care was also $230 less than the emergency vet minimum. We were so impressed with this organization!
