I highly recommend this clinic for any procedures your pup may have coming up.

The reviews explicitly mention that "The clinic itself was clean and welcoming." This is a fundamental aspect of any reputable "Pet Hospital," ensuring a hygienic and comfortable environment for both pets and their owners. A clean facility minimizes the risk of infection and contributes to a positive perception of care. A welcoming atmosphere, fostered by the staff's kindness and respect, helps reduce anxiety for pets entering an unfamiliar setting. While specific amenities like separate waiting areas for cats and dogs aren't detailed, the overall impression is one of thoughtful design focused on comfort and efficiency. Surgical areas would maintain strict sterility, and examination rooms would be organized and equipped to facilitate thorough assessments. The general sense conveyed is that the hospital is designed to make the veterinary visit as pleasant as possible for all visitors, two-legged and four-legged alike.
Lost River Animal Hospital, as a full-service "Pet Hospital," offers a broad range of veterinary services to meet the diverse needs of companion animals. Based on the reviews and general expectations of a modern animal hospital, their services likely include:
- General Wellness and Preventive Care: This forms the bedrock of pet health. It encompasses routine physical examinations, age-appropriate vaccinations (including rabies, distemper, etc.), and comprehensive parasite prevention and control programs (fleas, ticks, heartworm, intestinal parasites). Regular check-ups are vital for early detection of potential health issues.
- Surgical Procedures: The review specifically mentions a "pup... get neutered recently," indicating that routine surgical procedures like spaying and neutering are a core offering. A full-service hospital would also be equipped for a range of soft tissue surgeries, such as lump removals, foreign body extractions, and other common operations. This would include pre-surgical assessments, anesthesia monitoring, and post-operative care, which was praised with "They kept him overnight and called promptly the next day to let me know he was awake and okay."
- Dental Care: Oral health is crucial for overall well-being. Services would typically include professional dental cleanings, extractions, and guidance on at-home dental hygiene.
- Diagnostic Services: Accurate diagnosis is key to effective treatment. The hospital would likely offer in-house laboratory testing (blood work, urinalysis, fecal exams) for rapid results, and potentially imaging services like X-rays to assess bone and soft tissue structures.
- Pain Management: Providing effective pain relief is a critical aspect of compassionate care, particularly after surgical procedures or for chronic conditions.
- Microchipping: An essential service for permanent pet identification, increasing the chances of a lost pet being reunited with its owner.
- Nutritional Counseling: Guidance on appropriate diets for different life stages, breed-specific needs, and management of medical conditions through diet.

Feb 11, 2025 · Judy PenceLovely pet hospital. My pups and kitties are very comfortable here. Usually, my oldest doodle gets very nervous and hides as well as pees on the floor when the doctor arrives. Here, that did not happen! Unfortunately, we are not here in Lost River to stay, but if you need a great and caring veterinarian, this is a great option!
