This practice is all about money; the pet is secondary, and the owner is treated with contempt (by doctors, not the front desk; they are really sweet). I will summarize my story so you do not have to read that much. -When the pet is young, there is no problem; they just charge you a lot for annual visits or dental cleaning, which you pay because you love your pet. But there are practices in Brooklyn that are so compassionate and way less expensive. -My pet started to get sick in 2019, and they charged me about $800 for an ultrasound plus what they charge for visits and exams, etc., just to tell me to change her food. They say she might have pancreatitis. -This kept happening; they only said to change food and charged me a lot just for saying that. This is something I have heard a lot from other neighbors. -When she got sick, they also charged me over a thousand for an ultrasound and exams. When I asked for the images, they dismissed me and never got me the images, so I had to believe them, which was very suspicious to begin with. -When I said I wouldn't be treating her cancer, they lost all interest and dismissed us, saying that there was nothing to do about it, just wait until she died, which a very heartless doctor, who didn't even show up, said could be in two months. When I pressed for palliative care, I was told there was nothing to do. -I took her to another way better and less expensive practice in Greenpoint, and I got her on palliative care until she died. It is clear that after many years of mistakenly relying on them to care for our pet, so much could have been done in the early years to help her cope with this digestive sickness. But this practice is careless, and their love for your money blinds them to see the suffering animal and the suffering owner. It is unfair that they are getting rich with such low level of accountability. All of this and I didn’t even mention that in the last “ultrasound “ the cut her nipple and her skin was bleeding when i got her back. They never apologized or even care for that. I have pictures of how bad they hurt her.

this place is extremely unprofessional. i made an appointment for a regular annual check up and the clinic called not once, but THREE times (on the mornings of mind you), to reschedule the appointment with me because of external reasons. i understand that emergencies happen, and plans change, but this is extremely frustrating and annoying to have to deal with. not to mention super disrespectful of my time. let me reiterate again that it was 3x in less than a week’s span. they obviously don’t care about their patients at all. go elsewhere if you can to save yourself the hassle and headache. what a joke.

We've only come in here a few times for vaccinations and wellness checks, but the staff here are so friendly, and my dog is always super happy to come in, since he knows he'll get lots of pets and treats :) Doctors are very thorough and knowledgeable and I don't feel like they try to push you to do any unnecessary services. I'm happy we have a good neighborhood vet thats reliable and trustworthy.

Each vet we’ve seen here has been so knowledgeable, patient, and compassionate. Came here from bond vet and never going back. Thank you!

I wouldn't say that my experience with LIC Vet Center ever started out all that great, but they ended on a pretty awful note. Two specific instances really inspired this review. The first: We suspected that one of our dogs needed knee surgery, and over the course of multiple visits, they kept dismissing that concern, each time ignoring my requests to conduct imaging on the dog and just sending us home with more medicine -- and, of course, scheduling follow-up visits. I had to come back multiple times over the course of several weeks until they finally did an x-ray and discovered I was right and they needed surgery. THEN once they finally confirmed that we were correct, they had us come in for a (very expensive) surgical consult — only to find out that their surgeon was going on a long vacation and wouldn’t be able to do the surgery for several weeks. So we were faced with the option of letting our dog suffer, or starting the entire consult and surgical process somewhere else — of course, we love our dog and did the latter. But to have a patient come in for a surgical consult knowing your surgeon has no availability is a pretty abhorrent practice, in my opinion. How can I top that experience? Well here's the other big one: A couple of years ago, when my other dog was a puppy, he jumped up and broke his leg in a freak accident on the sidewalk in LIC. I scooped him up and ran him a couple of blocks to the vet. Thankfully they were open and I asked them for help. Their reply? Muttering that they didn’t have any availability for the rest of the day and refusing to provide us any kind of comfort or aid. They didn't even offer the dog water. They wouldn’t lift a finger to help an animal who was screaming and crying and literally urinating in my arms because of the pain. Should tell you everything you need to know about this place. Overall, were my experiences aside from these two instances good? Not really. I think back to the multi-month stretch I brought in my puppy with stomach issues every two weeks for them to basically shrug their shoulders when asked for a possible explanation -- only to learn on our own that a scoop of canned pumpkin from the grocery store (a roughly 99-cent to $1.29 item) would do the trick. Problem solved! No thanks to the medical professionals. It's taken me a year to get up the courage to write this review, in large part because my dogs and I have moved away and are no longer patients of this practice. I'd give them zero stars if I could. If you love your animals, take them anywhere but here.

Been taking our VERY fearful chihuahua mix rescue here since we adopted him in 2021 and are so appreciative for the kind technicians, doctors and staff here. Everyone is so understanding and gentle with our Screw. Your babies will be in good hands!
