4.0

I would have given it five stars but it felt more dog centered then 1 I would hope for. The waiting room was an unfriendly place for a cat in a carrier. a lot of dogs although on leashes were roaming around and their owners did not seem to understand that cats are not very comfortable when you're not at home. The vet was wonderful and was very thorough although $1,100 to diagnose constipation seemed a little high. All in all our beloved friend came through this ordeal okay.

Lippincott Peter D DVM Introduce

Lippincott Peter D DVM, located at 2204 E Foothill Blvd, Pasadena, CA 91107, USA, is a veterinary practice dedicated to providing medical care for beloved animal companions in the local community. As a Pet Hospital, this establishment aims to offer a range of services designed to support the health and well-being of dogs, cats, and other pets.

Environment at Lippincott Peter D DVM

The environment at Lippincott Peter D DVM, like any animal care facility, plays a significant role in the comfort and experience of both pets and their owners. Based on client feedback, the waiting room environment appears to be a notable aspect of the practice. One review specifically highlights that the waiting area can be quite "dog centered," with many dogs, even on leashes, roaming around. This can potentially create an "unfriendly place for a cat in a carrier," as cats tend to be less comfortable in unfamiliar environments, especially when surrounded by a high concentration of dogs. While this may be a minor point for dog owners, it's an important consideration for those bringing in their feline friends, suggesting that cat owners might benefit from calling ahead to inquire about less busy times or designated waiting areas for cats if available. The general atmosphere aims to be welcoming for pets and their human companions, though the specific layout or designated quiet areas for different species are not explicitly detailed. The overall aim is to provide a clean and safe space for veterinary consultations and procedures, prioritizing the well-being of the animals undergoing care.

Services Offered

As a comprehensive Pet Hospital, Lippincott Peter D DVM is expected to offer a broad spectrum of veterinary services to address various pet health needs. While specific details on every service are not provided in the given information, a typical veterinary practice of this nature generally provides:

  • Routine Wellness Examinations: Regular check-ups are crucial for preventive care, allowing veterinarians to detect potential health issues early and maintain overall pet health.
  • Vaccinations: Essential for protecting pets from common and serious diseases.
  • Preventive Care: This includes parasite control (fleas, ticks, heartworm), nutritional counseling, and advice on weight management.
  • Diagnostic Services: While not explicitly listed, a modern veterinary hospital typically has access to various diagnostic tools such as blood tests, urinalysis, digital radiography (X-rays), and potentially ultrasound, to accurately diagnose ailments. One review mentions a diagnostic process for constipation, suggesting thorough investigation of conditions.
  • Treatment of Illness and Injury: Addressing acute and chronic conditions, including common ailments, infections, and injuries.
  • Surgical Procedures: Routine surgeries such as spaying and neutering, as well as more complex soft tissue or orthopedic procedures, are common offerings.
  • Dental Care: Oral health is vital for pets, and services often include dental cleanings, extractions, and management of periodontal disease.
  • Emergency and Urgent Care: While the clinic may not be a 24/7 emergency center, it likely handles urgent cases during its operating hours, as indicated by the "walk-in visits" comment, suggesting some flexibility for immediate needs.
  • Pharmacology: Dispensing necessary medications for various conditions.
  • Counseling: Pet owners often need guidance on pet behavior, nutrition, and managing specific health conditions. The mention of Dr. Skillet being "caring, knowledgeable, efficient" suggests a strong focus on client education and communication.

The feedback regarding the veterinarian, Dr. Skillet, specifically highlights her as "caring, knowledgeable, and efficient." This suggests a patient-centered approach where thoroughness is prioritized, even if, as one client noted, the cost for certain diagnostics might be considered high. The thoroughness in diagnosing a condition like constipation, even at a significant cost, implies a commitment to finding the root cause of issues and ensuring the pet's well-being.

Features and Approach

Several key features and aspects of Lippincott Peter D DVM's approach to veterinary care can be inferred from the available information:

  • Experienced and Knowledgeable Staff: The positive feedback about Dr. Skillet underscores the presence of skilled and competent veterinary professionals. Her described attributes – caring, knowledgeable, and efficient – are critical for effective pet care. The phrase "Dr. Skillet knows her stuff" is a strong endorsement of her medical expertise.
  • Walk-in Visits: The convenience of "easy, walk-in visits" is a significant feature. This flexibility can be very beneficial for pet owners, especially in urgent situations or when scheduling appointments is difficult. However, it's always advisable to call ahead for any specific needs or to gauge waiting times.
  • Thorough Diagnostic Process: The example of a $1,100 diagnosis for constipation, while costly, demonstrates a commitment to a comprehensive diagnostic approach. This suggests that the practice aims to thoroughly investigate medical issues to provide accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans.
  • Focus on Pet Well-being: Despite the noted cost, the outcome for the beloved pet in the review was positive ("our beloved friend came through this ordeal okay"), indicating that the care provided ultimately led to the pet's recovery and well-being. This suggests that the primary goal of the practice is positive patient outcomes.
  • Client Communication: The description of the veterinarian as "caring" implies that client communication and empathy are important aspects of their service delivery. Explaining procedures and diagnoses, even complex ones, is a key part of building trust with pet owners.
Promotional Information and Considerations

While specific promotional offers are not detailed, a veterinary practice like Lippincott Peter D DVM often leverages its strengths to attract and retain clients. Based on the reviews, potential promotional angles could include:

  • Emphasis on Expert Care: Highlighting the expertise and dedication of veterinarians like Dr. Skillet. Phrases like "experienced and compassionate veterinarians" would resonate with pet owners.
  • Convenience: Promoting the "easy, walk-in visits" as a key benefit for busy pet owners or those with unexpected needs.
  • Commitment to Thoroughness: Explaining that while diagnostics can be comprehensive, it’s all aimed at ensuring the best possible outcome for the pet. This can help manage expectations regarding costs.
  • Addressing Pet-Specific Comfort: For potential cat owners, the practice might consider promoting specific "cat-friendly" features, if any exist, or advising on optimal times for feline visits to minimize stress in the waiting area. This could involve creating a separate cat waiting area or scheduling "cat-only" hours to improve the experience for their feline patients.

For local users, the address (2204 E Foothill Blvd, Pasadena, CA 91107, USA) and contact numbers ((626) 792-1187 / +1 626-792-1187) are crucial for accessibility. The location on Foothill Blvd suggests easy access within Pasadena. While the price for diagnostic services was highlighted as potentially high by one reviewer, it's important for pet owners to understand that veterinary costs can vary significantly based on the complexity of the condition, the diagnostic tools required, and the course of treatment. Prospective clients are always encouraged to discuss potential costs and treatment plans with the veterinary team upfront.

In summary, Lippincott Peter D DVM presents itself as a dedicated veterinary care provider in Pasadena, CA, emphasizing thorough and knowledgeable care, led by professionals like Dr. Skillet. While the waiting environment might be more dog-centric, the quality of veterinary service and the focus on pet well-being appear to be strong points. The flexibility of walk-in visits adds to the convenience for pet owners seeking timely care for their animal companions.
