Update to response: I do understand what a tooth cleaning entails as it is standard with most vets including the new one we are going to. While the staff are friendly, their pricing is about double what our new vet charges for dental cleanings. I had called and scheduled an annual visit and said everything the dog was due for should be done at that visit. The dr. checked him and talked about an uber-costly teeth cleaning but did not do anything else. Wasted money, wasted visit. I always felt the Dr. was shaming me about my dog's teeth even though they are not bad. He is able to skip a year or two and our previous vet would say they weren't bad enough to need a major cleaning yet on annual checks. My dog is not a chewer, he's a gulper so his food doesn't scrape the plaque off. He choked on rawhide so that is out. He bit chunks out of his cow joints big enough to choke on. His nylabones would cause little cuts in his gums. He takes chunks out of flavored rubber chew toys just the right size to choke on.The only option is brushing, which I do. I brush his teeth as much as I can but once I get to the inside teeth or the molars, he bites down and does not want to give me the toothbrush back. Don't try to guilt me into an $800 or higher visit every year. The front office ALWAYS stinks like poop.

Linn Animal Hospital North Introduce

Welcome to the introduction of Linn Animal Hospital North, a veterinary care provider located at 3990 Center Point Rd NE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52402, USA. Categorized as a 'Pet Hospital', Linn Animal Hospital North offers a range of services aimed at the health and well-being of your pets. You can contact them at (319) 393-7834 or their mobile number +1 319-393-7834.

Based on the available customer reviews, experiences at Linn Animal Hospital North appear to be varied. While one customer praised Dr. Winterowd and his team for a successful surgery, other feedback raises concerns regarding pricing for dental cleanings, the thoroughness of annual visits, and the clinic's environment. Let's examine these aspects in more detail to provide local users with an objective overview.

Environment: One recurring comment regarding the environment of Linn Animal Hospital North is that "the front office ALWAYS stinks like poop." This suggests a potential issue with odor management in the reception area, which might be a concern for some pet owners visiting the clinic.

Services: Based on the customer reviews, Linn Animal Hospital North provides several veterinary services:

  • Dental Cleanings: One customer mentioned that the pricing for dental cleanings was about double what their new vet charges. Another recounted a discussion about a "uber-costly teeth cleaning" during an annual visit where no other services were performed. This suggests that dental cleanings are offered, but their pricing may be higher compared to other providers.
  • Annual Visits: A customer scheduled an annual visit intending to have all necessary due procedures performed. However, they reported that only a check-up and a discussion about teeth cleaning occurred, leading to a feeling of a "wasted visit" and wasted money as other due services were not addressed. This indicates that while annual visits are offered, the comprehensiveness might vary based on the client's expectations and the veterinarian's focus.
  • Surgery: One positive review highlighted a successful surgery performed by Dr. Winterowd and his team, with the pet recovering well. This indicates that the hospital is equipped to handle surgical procedures.

The information suggests that while some standard veterinary services are available, experiences can differ significantly regarding pricing transparency and the scope of services provided during routine visits.

Features: Several features can be identified from the customer feedback:

  • Friendly Staff: One reviewer noted that "the staff are friendly," which is a positive aspect of the clinic.
  • Dr. Winterowd and His Team: Dr. Winterowd is specifically mentioned and praised for the successful surgery, suggesting his competence in surgical procedures. The team working with him is also acknowledged as "excellent."
  • Focus on Dental Health: There seems to be a strong emphasis on dental health, with discussions about teeth cleaning being a prominent part of at least two customer experiences. However, one customer felt "shamed" about their dog's teeth despite a previous vet's assessment that they weren't bad enough for an immediate major cleaning.

The features suggest a clinic with a friendly staff and a capable surgeon in Dr. Winterowd, but also highlight potential issues with pricing perceptions for dental services and the approach to discussing dental care with pet owners.

Promotional Information: Based on the provided information, there are no explicit promotional offers mentioned. However, the positive feedback regarding the successful surgery and the acknowledgment of Dr. Winterowd's excellent team could be seen as an implicit endorsement for surgical needs. Local users seeking surgical veterinary care might find this positive review reassuring. Conversely, potential clients might want to inquire specifically about the costs of dental cleanings and the scope of services included in an annual visit to ensure they align with their expectations and budget.

In summary, Linn Animal Hospital North, as a 'Pet Hospital', presents a mixed picture based on recent customer reviews. While the staff is noted as friendly and surgical outcomes can be positive, there are concerns raised about the pricing of dental cleanings, the thoroughness of annual visits, and the environment of the front office. Local users in Cedar Rapids, IA, may want to weigh these points when considering Linn Animal Hospital North for their pet care needs.

For pet owners in the Cedar Rapids area, Linn Animal Hospital North offers surgical services led by Dr. Winterowd and a team described as excellent. However, it would be prudent to inquire about the costs of specific services like dental cleanings and what is included in an annual visit to make an informed decision. You can contact them at (319) 393-7834 for more information.

Once again, Great job from Dr Winterowd and his excellent team at Linn Animal North! Vinny's surgery was successful, and he is recuperating so well. Well done from start to finish!

Linn Animal Hospital has provided such exceptional care for my two dogs. Their dedication to going above and beyond is second to none. My dog Rylie just recently passed and they were so caring and supportive. They made her feel comfortable and gave her treats to make her happy. They always answer every question I have and make me feel right at home. The people that work the front desk are so nice and compassionate. The whole team is absolutely incredible. I have been a customer there for a very long time (over 20 years) and wouldn’t recommend any other company more. My dog Rylie was with me for 16 years and they made that all possible with the care they gave her. Thank you Linn Animal Hospital ❤️

Jack had been having some ear problems, the Dr. And vet techs were great, so nice, got his ears cleaned and medicine to treat the yeast in his ears. Was affordable and they did a great job! Thanks so much!

The staff was very nice and friendly, but I ended up paying $1,200 out of pocket because of a misdiagnosis. My cat had been throwing up & i wanted to do anything I could do to help my fur friend. They said he could have ingested string and that we needed surgery and I didn't want to lose my cat. It was very frustrating to figure out that the real cause was just dehydration and in upset stomach but now my cat needs to be watched for 2 weeks and I payed $1,200.
