We LOVE Limestone Vet. The staff is so friendly and communicative. We’re always able to get an appointment and we get great care from the vets. We even tested out doggy day care this week and Daisy LOVED it. We were so nervous to leave her with strangers and dogs she doesn’t know. But we saw on the webcams that she had a great time, got to be outside a ton and got along with all the dogs. We’re so excited to send her back to socialize while we’re at work.

Limestone Veterinary Hospital Introduce
Welcome to Limestone Veterinary Hospital, a Pet Hospital located at 6102 Limestone Rd, Hockessin, DE 19707, USA, dedicated to providing veterinary care and related services for your beloved pets. Serving the local community, Limestone Veterinary Hospital offers a range of services catering to the health and well-being of your animal companions. You can reach them at (302) 239-5415 or +1 302-239-5415 for inquiries or to schedule an appointment.
Based on available online feedback from real customers, experiences with Limestone Veterinary Hospital appear to be varied. Some pet owners have expressed positive experiences, highlighting the friendliness and communicative nature of the staff. These reviewers mention the convenience of securing appointments and the quality of care received from the veterinarians. One customer specifically praised the doggy daycare service, noting their initial nervousness about leaving their dog but ultimately being very pleased with their pet's positive experience, including ample outdoor time and good socialization with other dogs, observed through webcams. This positive feedback suggests that Limestone Veterinary Hospital aims to provide a welcoming environment and engaging activities for pets utilizing their daycare services.
However, it is important to acknowledge that other customers have reported less satisfactory experiences. Some reviewers have expressed concerns regarding the consistency of care, alleging multiple errors over time. Specific issues raised include the recommendation of euthanasia for a dog with separation anxiety and difficulties in obtaining timely prescription refills, requiring multiple follow-up calls. Furthermore, a lack of continuity in veterinary care, with patients reportedly not seeing the same doctor consistently, has been mentioned as a concern, leading to a perception of a less personalized, "factory-like" environment. The absence of follow-up care after medical issues has also been cited as a point of dissatisfaction by some pet owners.
Changes in front staff and a perceived decline in their friendliness have also been noted by some long-term clients. One particularly serious concern raised by a former client involves a dog diagnosed with leukemia shortly after receiving multiple vaccines within a short period at the hospital. This led the pet owner to switch to another veterinary provider. It is crucial to note that this is a single anecdotal report and does not establish a causal link between the vaccinations and the diagnosis.
Considering the available information, Limestone Veterinary Hospital offers a range of services expected from a Pet Hospital, including veterinary consultations, vaccinations, prescription services, and, as highlighted by one positive review, doggy daycare. The environment, based on positive feedback, is perceived as friendly and communicative by some, particularly regarding the staff's interaction and the doggy daycare facilities. The feature of webcam access for the doggy daycare is a notable aspect that provides reassurance to pet owners.
However, potential local users should also be aware of the concerns raised by other reviewers regarding the consistency of veterinary care, the lack of follow-up, and the perceived changes in staff friendliness. The issue of seeing different doctors for each visit might be a factor for pet owners who prefer a more consistent and personal relationship with their veterinarian.
Currently, no specific promotional information for Limestone Veterinary Hospital is available in the provided text. Therefore, it is recommended that interested local users contact the hospital directly at (302) 239-5415 or +1 302-239-5415 to inquire about any ongoing promotions, new client specials, or package deals for their services, including veterinary care and doggy daycare.
In conclusion, Limestone Veterinary Hospital in Hockessin, DE, presents itself as a facility offering both veterinary medical services and doggy daycare. While some clients have reported positive experiences with the friendly staff, ease of appointment scheduling, and the enjoyable environment of the doggy daycare (including webcam access), others have raised significant concerns about the consistency and personalization of veterinary care, follow-up procedures, and staff interactions. Prospective clients are encouraged to consider these varying perspectives and perhaps contact the hospital directly to discuss their specific needs and expectations to determine if Limestone Veterinary Hospital aligns with their requirements for pet care.

Feb 16, 2025 · Anna McLaughlinIf you have a pet that needs more care or attention, don’t go here. Can’t count how many times they screwed up over the years. At one point, they told me to put one of my dogs down because he had separation anxiety. Now they need several follow up calls to remind them to fill prescriptions. On top of that, you won’t see the same doctor each time so it’s basically like a factory there. They don’t follow up to make sure your pet is OK after a medical issue. The front staff has changed a lot - not as friendly as they used to be. The latest problem is my dog was diagnosed with leukemia after they gave him 4 vaccines in the span of one month. Switched to another vet so I don’t have to ever go through this again.
Feb 19, 2025 · Elizabeth ReaDef feel rushed with a senior dog with issues. Place has changed greatly over the years. Won’t be taking the pups here anymore. Still have issues with professionalism. We’ve spent so much money and it seems like they don’t know what to do or don’t care. Shame since Dr McKenzie was so much better than what they have there now. He cared. Everyone else rushes to get their money
Dec 20, 2024 · ryanjfisher86I posted this on my Facebook and thought I should copy and paste it here because I really am so pleased with Limestone Vet. Their prices are very fair for services and for medications. They always seem to schedule very quickly and have worked with me to squeeze us in when necessary. The staff are all super nice. All of the doctors and technicians truly seem to care so much about the animals. My dog loves going there and I do too! I've never felt like I'm being ripped off like I have at other vets. I can't say enough good things about Limestone Vet. I am so grateful that they've been able to help us out so much. Also, we're planning to board him there for the first time and I feel confident they'll take good care of him. ***Below is a copy of my Facebook post.*** I took Toby to get his monthly Librela shot this morning for osteoarthritis in his legs. If you've never heard of Librela, I highly recommend it. For years we've been giving him three different pain medications and since he started his monthly arthritis shots, we don't have to give him any daily pain medications anymore. He's 11 years old now, and on this new medication it's like he's a puppy all over again! He'll jump up high into our laps or easily jump up high onto my parents taller bed, without hesitation he'll leap between the two couches and go flying over my crutches when they are leaning next to me. All day long he'll run around, play with the cat, or his toys and jump so high and far that we're always astounded. Every single day we are saying something to the effect that "Toby's drinking Red Bull again", or saying how "Toby's grown wings!" It is inconvenient to have to take him to the vet once a month now, but it is SO worth it to see him so happy and active. He's a small dog, so his monthly shot is cheaper and only cost $71, which seems like a lot but compared to all of the pain medications I was buying it's actually a lot cheaper. Every once in awhile, towards the end of the month when it starts wearing off a bit he might squeal in pain once and then I will give him a small dose of one of the prescription medications, but it's nothing compared to how much we were having to give him in the past. It can be so heartbreaking to see our precious fur babies getting older, slowing down, and dealing with pain and health problems. I'm so grateful that we now have a better way to help keep him comfortable, happy, and active. We can take him on walks more and run with him longer, without having to give him pain medicine afterwards. Toby's quality of life has been improved so much by this one medication. I've been so pleased with the results I've been telling all my friends with dogs about it. If your doggo has osteoarthritis it's definitely worth asking your vet about to see if it's a good fit for you. Toby is absolutely in his prime AGAIN, living his best life, and I sure hope this might help somebody out there going through something similar.
Nov 01, 2024 · Shauna JenkinsWe boarded our epileptic cat there recently and the level of care and professionalism was outstanding! We even got a "report card" stating food/water intake, mood, litter box activity and sign offs on meds. Can highly recommend!
