I cannot express enough how truly incredible Dr. Alford and her entire team at LVR are! After our Labrador, Colonel, suffered a herniated disc that left him with paralyzed back legs, we were devastated and unsure of what the future would hold. We rushed him in for an emergency hemilaminectomy with a prognosis that wasn’t very promising. Thankfully, a coworker recommended Lex Vet Rehab, and choosing them was the best decision we’ve ever made. From day one, Dr. Alford, Jesse, Ashlee, and Kaylee have gone above and beyond to ensure Colonel’s recovery and quality of life. The combination of hyperbaric chamber, water treadmill sessions, laser therapy, and gym workouts has worked wonders—he’s now back to enjoying his favorite thing - WALKS! And we could not be more grateful. Colonel looks forward to every visit with his friends (and their liver treats!) as do I! I am forever grateful to Lex Vet Rehab for the amazing care and love they've shown our big boy. We feel so incredibly fortunate to have found such an exceptional team. Our boy is lucky to have you, and we are too. Thank you, Lex Vet Rehab, for everything! 🐾💙

Welcome to Lexington Veterinary Rehabilitation

Welcome to Lexington Veterinary Rehabilitation, a dedicated pet hospital located at 102 Dennis Dr, Lexington, KY 40503, USA. We understand that your pets are cherished members of your family, and their health and well-being are of utmost importance. At Lexington Veterinary Rehabilitation, we are committed to providing comprehensive and specialized care to help your furry companions recover from injuries, manage chronic conditions, and enhance their overall quality of life.

As a leading pet hospital in the region, Lexington Veterinary Rehabilitation offers a unique and integrated approach to animal rehabilitation. Our team of experienced and compassionate professionals, including Dr. Alford, Jesse, Ashlee, and Kaylee, are dedicated to providing individualized treatment plans tailored to the specific needs of each animal. We pride ourselves on creating a supportive and comfortable environment where pets feel safe and cared for throughout their rehabilitation journey.

Our state-of-the-art facility is equipped with advanced therapeutic modalities to address a wide range of conditions affecting pets. We specialize in physical therapy, a cornerstone of our rehabilitation programs. Our skilled therapists utilize various techniques to improve mobility, reduce pain, and restore function. These techniques may include manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, gait retraining, and neuromuscular re-education. We work closely with pet owners and referring veterinarians to develop and implement effective rehabilitation protocols.

One of the distinctive features of Lexington Veterinary Rehabilitation is our on-site hyperbaric chamber. This advanced technology involves administering pure oxygen at an increased atmospheric pressure within a sealed chamber. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy can significantly accelerate the healing process by increasing oxygen delivery to tissues, reducing inflammation, and promoting the growth of new blood vessels. It has proven beneficial in treating a variety of conditions, including wound healing, infections, and neurological injuries.

Another valuable tool in our rehabilitation arsenal is the water treadmill. This aquatic therapy modality allows pets to exercise with reduced weight-bearing stress on their joints. The buoyancy of water provides support, while the resistance helps to strengthen muscles and improve cardiovascular health. Water treadmill sessions are particularly beneficial for pets recovering from orthopedic surgeries, managing arthritis, or working to improve their gait and balance.

Laser therapy is also an integral part of our comprehensive care. This non-invasive treatment uses focused light to stimulate cellular activity, reduce pain and inflammation, and accelerate tissue repair. Laser therapy can be used to address a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, including osteoarthritis, tendonitis, and post-surgical pain.

Beyond these specialized therapies, Lexington Veterinary Rehabilitation also provides a supportive and encouraging environment for pets to regain their strength and confidence. Our facility includes a dedicated gym area where pets can perform targeted exercises under the guidance of our therapists. We understand that each pet’s journey is unique, and we are committed to providing the individualized attention and care they need to achieve their rehabilitation goals.

The positive experiences of our clients speak volumes about the quality of care provided at Lexington Veterinary Rehabilitation. As one grateful pet owner shared, their Labrador, Colonel, who suffered a herniated disc and paralysis, made a remarkable recovery through a combination of hyperbaric chamber sessions, water treadmill therapy, laser therapy, and gym workouts. Colonel is now back to enjoying his favorite walks, a testament to the dedication and expertise of our team.

Another satisfied client recounted how their dog, Sara, diagnosed with torn ligaments in both back legs, successfully recovered through physical therapy with our skilled therapist, Jessie. Avoiding surgery, Sara regained her mobility and returned to her happy, carefree self. These testimonials highlight the transformative impact of our rehabilitation programs and the compassionate care provided by our team.

At Lexington Veterinary Rehabilitation, we believe in a collaborative approach to pet care. We work closely with referring veterinarians to ensure seamless communication and a coordinated treatment plan. We also understand the emotional toll that a pet’s injury or illness can take on their owners, and we strive to provide support and guidance throughout the rehabilitation process. We celebrate every milestone, big or small, and are dedicated to helping pets and their families navigate the road to recovery.

When Dr. Alford diagnosed our big dog, Sara, with torn ligaments in both back legs, she recommended physical therapy over surgery. So Sara began therapy with Jessie as her therapist. It was amazing to watch her progress from week to week. It was the best decision! She has now recovered and went from not wanting to stand or walk to being the carefree happy dog we knew. Than you Dr. Alford, Jessie, and all of your caring staff for treating Sara, my husband and me, with such wonderful care. I would recommend Lexington Veterinary Rehabilitation to all for physical therapy for their fur babies experiencing mobility problems.

My Rhodesian Ridgeback injured his back. He couldn’t sleep at night. Rehab here fixed his back and is pain free without medicine.

Dr Alford is as good as it gets. She and the team were always kind and professional, and my dog has a new lease on life. They taught me how to do daily stretches with him so that I could do PT at home. Can’t give enough stars.

Dr. Alford is amazing!!!! My miniature pinscher has been suffering joint issues for years and has done everything from Adeqan injections to acupuncture as well as physical therapy in NY. Nothing seemed to help. After relocating from NY to KY I needed a new rehab vet for my dog and found Dr. Alford. She was absolutely amazing and took her time getting to know my dog and seeing how she walked. She immediately noticed what was going on and after just one treatment in the hyperbaric chamber, Fia was like a brand new dog!! I can’t wait to continue to work with Dr. Alford. She and her staff went above and beyond!!!!
