I've been a fur baby Mama for 20+ years & I would not take my fur babies anywhere else! They took such good care of my two shitzu's, they both lived 16 years! Now I have a Lhasa Apso. I didn't take her to Lex Vet until I had her a couple of years... I got her rabies shots at Vetco (not recommended) but money was tight during Covid so I had to make it work. On Christmas eve her belly swelled like crazy! I had no idea what was going on. I took her to the emergency vet (blue pearl - waltham) and $1500 later they tell me she needs an $8500 surgery (emergency spay) because her Uterus is so swollen. I was beside myself! I went home, called 30+ places and NO one could help. It was between Christmas and New Years, no one was open, or had any slots and I did NOT have $8500 to throw around. Finally Lexington Vet answered! I hadn't been to the office since I had put my last Shitzu down back in 2016. Honestly, I was so worried about my Lhasa Apso (Harper) that I didn't even mention I used to go there. Sylvia picked up the phone. She actually LISTENED TO ME! She went and talked to the surgeon... she got me an appt to see the surgeon on New Years Eve! Dr Siddons! My guardian angel!!! Tuesday he checked Harper out, agreed to the surgery... it was scary, a lot of risky stuff going on... He said her uterus was like a water balloon it was extremely swollen and filled with fluid. Since it had to be taken out with metal tools, it could have ruptured & that would have caused sepsis. (We went home and stayed VERY STILL for 5 days... Then, Friday 1/3/25 @730am we went to the office, a short 7 hours later I picked my baby up and she was fixed! Her UTERUS WEIGHED 6 POUNDS! She went from a 15 pound dog to 9lbs after her surgery! 2 weeks later, follow up... included in price of surgery. They were still loving, sweet and so thoughtful. Even excited to see us! Long story short (far too late, lol) ... Lexington Vet Assc. saved my dogs life! They saved my bank account. All said and done it was $3500 BUT it was not $8500 and they were AMAZING! It was the best feeling in the world to find a group of people that had no idea who I was but they were willing to listen, think then... just HELP! Lexington Vet Assc. was a breath of fresh air after the guilt trip from the animal hospital telling me I need to take out a "Care credit card" to do the surgery right now... Syliva, Dr Siddons, & everyone at Lexington Vet, Harper and I love and appreciate you all more than you can imagine! We brought thank you cookies from the yummy Royal Bakery, but that does not seem like enough. So this is my first Google Review (I think... lol) Anyone who loves their fur babies... well, this is the place to go!

Welcome to Lexington Veterinary Associates
Welcome to Lexington Veterinary Associates, a well-established pet hospital located at 511 Waltham St, Lexington, MA 02421, USA. Serving the local community for many years, Lexington Veterinary Associates has garnered a reputation for providing comprehensive veterinary care with a strong emphasis on compassion and expertise. As a trusted pet hospital, they cater to a wide range of animal health needs, ensuring that your furry companions receive the best possible medical attention in a supportive environment.
While specific details about the clinic's environment are not extensively described in the provided reviews, the overwhelmingly positive account of a critical situation suggests a responsive and well-equipped facility. The ability to schedule a complex surgery on short notice, especially during the holiday season, implies an efficient and organized practice. The mention of a surgeon, Dr. Siddons, indicates the capacity for surgical procedures on-site. Furthermore, the caring and thoughtful follow-up care suggests a comfortable and attentive post-operative environment for recovering pets.
The services offered at Lexington Veterinary Associates appear to be comprehensive, covering both routine care and more complex medical and surgical interventions. One long-term client mentioned bringing their Shih Tzus to the practice for many years, indicating their provision of general veterinary services and preventative care, which contributed to the long lives of their pets. The detailed account of a Lhasa Apso requiring an emergency spay highlights their surgical capabilities, including handling critical and complex cases. The fact that they were able to perform a surgery deemed necessary by an emergency vet, but at a significantly lower cost, suggests a commitment to providing necessary treatments while being mindful of financial constraints. The inclusion of a follow-up appointment in the price of the surgery further indicates a comprehensive and considerate approach to patient care.
A significant feature of Lexington Veterinary Associates is the dedication and skill of their team, as vividly portrayed in a detailed customer testimonial. Sylvia, who answered the phone, is commended for her exceptional listening skills and proactive approach in securing a crucial appointment with the surgeon, Dr. Siddons, during a challenging time when many other clinics were unavailable. Dr. Siddons is described as a "guardian angel" for his willingness to take on a risky surgery and his clear explanation of the medical situation. The successful outcome of the surgery, which involved removing a six-pound swollen uterus, underscores his surgical expertise and the clinic's ability to handle critical conditions effectively. The post-operative care and the continued loving and thoughtful attitude of the entire team further highlight their commitment to patient well-being.
However, it is important to present a balanced perspective. One recent reviewer, who had been using the practice for four years, expressed a perception of the clinic being a "bit of a money grab" despite acknowledging their local presence and good reputation. This reviewer mentioned switching to a vet out of town who offered better service, care, and cost transparency. This feedback suggests that while many have positive experiences, some clients may have concerns regarding pricing and potentially perceive a lack of transparency in costs compared to other veterinary practices.
The detailed positive review provides a compelling narrative of a life-saving intervention and highlights several key features of Lexington Veterinary Associates: their responsiveness in emergencies, the expertise of their surgeon (Dr. Siddons), the compassionate and proactive support of their staff (exemplified by Sylvia), and their willingness to provide necessary and complex treatments at a significantly more affordable cost than an emergency veterinary hospital. The follow-up care included in the surgical price and the continued positive attitude of the staff further contribute to a positive patient experience.
While promotional information is not explicitly provided, the powerful testimonial of a grateful pet owner serves as a strong endorsement for Lexington Veterinary Associates, particularly for those facing urgent or complex medical needs for their pets. The willingness of the team to listen, think creatively, and act decisively in a critical situation speaks volumes about their dedication to animal welfare. For local users seeking a pet hospital that combines skilled veterinary care with genuine compassion, Lexington Veterinary Associates comes highly recommended by at least one very grateful client.
In conclusion, Lexington Veterinary Associates in Lexington, MA, offers a range of veterinary services, including general care and complex surgical procedures. The positive experiences of long-term clients and those facing urgent situations highlight the skill of their veterinarians, particularly Dr. Siddons, and the compassionate support of their staff, such as Sylvia. While one recent review suggests potential concerns about pricing transparency, the compelling account of a life-saving surgery and the thoughtful follow-up care underscore the clinic's commitment to animal health and well-being. For local pet owners seeking a responsive and capable pet hospital, Lexington Veterinary Associates is a practice to consider, especially for those who value experienced care and a compassionate approach.

Feb 28, 2025 · Jan MarchantI have used this practice for 4 years. I have always thought it was a bit of a money grab to be honest but they are local and have a good reputation so I put up with it. I have just started to use a different vet, out of town. The service and care are light years away. So much better, and they are actually transparent with costs.
Apr 24, 2025 · Jon MilneThey charge significantly higher rates than I expected. Initial registration for my kitten Lexi was several hundred dollars, and they quoted nearly $2,000 for a spay procedure. While the facility may offer quality care, these prices seem exorbitant. I took my kitten elsewhere and had her spay $300.
Dec 26, 2024 · Nellie TGreat staff and care. When we recently had to euthanize our senile dog the staff was incredibly kind and caring.
Dec 28, 2024 · Russ HerrigVery helpful figuring out microchips in my dogs. USA has started some new policy after traveling to Canada....
