It’s been a week of grieving and closure so now it’s time to tell you about Leland Veterinary Hospital. Great people. We had to unfortunately make the decision to let our Mattie cross the rainbow bridge. I called at 7:30 am and they were able to get us in at 9:30. We were treated with nothing but dignity. They let us take our time. They explained every step thoroughly. The tech brought us chocolate to let her enjoy before we let her go. They arranged cremation for us. It made a tough time less crushing. They showed true compassion and kindness. I can’t say enough. We still have two dogs with us and I won’t go anywhere else. The card and prints will be cherished forever.

Oct 31, 2024 · jeff mckillipThis place is only out for money. $400 later they tell me my dog is fine, two days later she had to get put down due to cancer. I would never take another dog back here. We were told it was a fatty tumor and it would be fine. So yes I was told she was fine.
Apr 09, 2025 · S CMAvoid this place. Had a doctor see our dogs tail and his first recommendation was to cut the tail off due to a cyst. We asked for a referral to a different vet to get a second opinion and the same doctor denied it. Eventually we went to a non referral vet in Wilmington where another doc provided alternative remedies such as a donut to stop inflammation from agitation and when we asked “would you cut his tail off right now” he responded of course not. That’s the nuclear option. The cyst on the tail ended up shrinking and becoming a non issue once again after preventing our dog from chewing on it. I’m not going to name the doctor but he was young and gung-ho. He felt his opinion was the only one that mattered and would’ve cost our dog his tail. I hope he reads this review and humbles himself. Also if you threaten to report this review to google for false information things will get a lot worse than this review. I have receipts and paperwork to back up my claim. Please, avoid this place at all costs. Edit: I would like to add the front desk and vet techs were all very lovely. For what it’s worth.

Nov 17, 2022 · Keri FelixGAAAARBAGE. Absolute trash clinic. I brought my elderly cat in to be seen for a potential tumor and a mouth infection. I was called by Dr collier and told that my cat was in a lot of pain and that with his history of FIV it WAS cancer. They did not biopsy the tumor nor did they run blood work nor did they give me the option to do a biopsy or bloodwork. She explained that the only option was steroids and if the tumor didn’t shrink in a day we would have to euthanize him. She said he was not active, not eating and in immense pain and that it doesn’t look good. I asked to please just give him antibiotics and steroids and see how he would do before making a decision. I took him to an emergency vet clinic and they disagreed and that he had lost weight due to him being unable eat due to the infection in his tooth. After antibiotics he is running, playing, jumping off the top platform of their ceiling high cat tower, has eaten multiple times and is acting like his normal self again. Here’s your reminder to never ever trust the word of a Dr that’s okay with calling on the phone to deliver such awful news. 0 sympathy for their clients. Dr. Collier I hope you have the day you deserve! ♥️
