Based on available information, including direct testimonials from pet owners, we aim to provide an objective overview of what you can expect from Lannon's Animal Hospital. This introduction will touch upon aspects such as the environment, services offered, key features, and any discernible promotional aspects, all derived from the experiences shared by their clientele.

Environment and Atmosphere:

While specific details about the physical environment of Lannon's Animal Hospital are not explicitly mentioned in the provided reviews, we can infer certain aspects based on the customer experiences. One positive review highlights the hospital's ability to accommodate appointments "conveniently and quickly," suggesting an efficient and organized approach to scheduling. This could imply a streamlined reception area and well-managed appointment system aimed at minimizing wait times, although another review presents a contrasting perspective regarding recent wait times.

The positive feedback also emphasizes the staff's commitment to ensuring that treatment plans and care instructions are "thoroughly explained" and "understood," indicating a communicative and patient-focused environment where pet owners are kept informed and involved in their pet's healthcare decisions. This suggests a comfortable setting where questions are welcomed and efforts are made to alleviate any anxieties pet owners might have.

Services Offered:

The reviews provide insights into some of the services offered at Lannon's Animal Hospital. The mention of a "heart worm test" confirms that they provide routine diagnostic services. Furthermore, the successful treatment of a pet, as highlighted in the positive review ("They take superb care of her"), suggests a range of medical and treatment capabilities for various pet health concerns. The reference to offering "inexpensive treatment" is a significant point, indicating a potential focus on providing affordable care options for pet owners.

The negative review mentions a concern about a "cherry eye" condition in a dog, implying that the hospital handles ophthalmological issues, at least for initial assessment and advice. However, the subsequent lack of follow-up in this specific instance raises questions about the consistency of their service delivery, particularly during busy periods.

Based on the general nature of a "Pet Hospital," it is reasonable to assume that Lannon's Animal Hospital likely offers a broader range of services, which may include:

  • General wellness check-ups and vaccinations
  • Diagnosis and treatment of illnesses and injuries
  • Surgical procedures (the extent of which is not specified)
  • Dental care
  • Parasite prevention and treatment (as indicated by the heartworm test)
  • Diagnostic imaging (e.g., X-rays, although not explicitly mentioned)
  • Laboratory services
  • Nutritional counseling
  • Microchipping
  • Potentially, end-of-life care and euthanasia

It's important to note that the specific scope and expertise within these areas would need to be confirmed directly with the hospital.

Features and Strengths:

One of the key strengths highlighted in the positive review is the perceived high quality of care provided. The customer explicitly states, "They take superb care of her," indicating a level of expertise and dedication from the veterinary staff. The convenience and speed of getting appointments are also mentioned as positive features, suggesting an effort to accommodate pet owners' schedules efficiently.

Furthermore, the emphasis on clear communication regarding treatment plans and follow-up care suggests a commitment to client education and a proactive approach to pet health management. The mention of "inexpensive treatment" could be a significant feature for budget-conscious pet owners in the community.

Areas for Potential Improvement:

The negative review raises some critical concerns, primarily centered around understaffing. The customer describes experiencing long wait times for both routine appointments and administrative tasks like checking in and out. The difficulty in contacting the hospital via phone due to a consistently busy line is also a significant issue highlighted.

The lack of follow-up regarding the "cherry eye" concern, despite the customer following instructions to email information, is a serious point of criticism. This suggests potential communication breakdowns or an inability to manage the workload effectively, especially during busy periods. The customer's decision to seek veterinary care elsewhere underscores the impact of these issues on client satisfaction and trust.

Promotional Information:

Based on the provided information, there is no explicit promotional material available. However, the positive review itself acts as a form of positive word-of-mouth, highlighting the perceived good care, convenience, and affordability. The statement "My pet doesn’t go anywhere else! ❤️" is a strong endorsement.

Conversely, the negative review serves as a cautionary note for potential new clients, emphasizing the reported issues with staffing and responsiveness. It is important for prospective clients to consider both positive and negative feedback when making decisions about their pet's care.

Objective Summary:

Lannon's Animal Hospital in Elizabeth City, NC, has received both positive and negative feedback from its customers. On the one hand, some pet owners have experienced convenient appointment scheduling, high-quality care, thorough communication, and affordable treatment options. This suggests a dedicated team committed to the well-being of animals and their owners.

On the other hand, recent experiences reported by another customer highlight significant concerns regarding understaffing, leading to long wait times, difficulty in contacting the hospital, and potential lapses in follow-up care. These issues raise questions about the hospital's capacity to consistently deliver efficient and responsive service, particularly during peak times.

Conclusion for Local Users:

For local users in Elizabeth City and the surrounding areas considering Lannon's Animal Hospital for their pet care needs, it is advisable to weigh the experiences shared by other pet owners. The positive testimonials suggest that many have been satisfied with the level of care and the overall service provided. The emphasis on clear communication and affordable treatment could be particularly appealing.

However, it is crucial to be aware of the recent concerns raised about potential understaffing and its impact on wait times and responsiveness. If timely communication and minimal waiting periods are critical factors for you, it might be prudent to inquire about their current staffing levels and appointment availability when you contact them. Visiting the clinic in person might also provide a better sense of the current environment and operational efficiency.

I have been bringing my animals to Lannon’s for about 4 years now. I have always somewhat liked Lannon’s they have squeezed me in the past and have taken care of my pets. Until recently every visit I’ve noticed how incredibly understaffed they are and even the little appointments like a heart worm test is taking well over a hour. Checking in and out takes over 20 minutes waiting in line. On July 1st I noticed my dog had what looked like a cherry eye going on. I called that afternoon around 3ish tried about seven times (the line is always busy) finally was able to get through and placed on hold for 15 minutes. I hung up then tried 46 times before I was able to get a none busy line. Yes that was extremely frustrating and I did tell the girl on the phone I was actually considering switching vets and they should hire more people or lighten their work load. I didn’t yell or cuss at her, but was very straight forward with my message. They told me to send a email of my dogs eye, well I never heard back from them (good thing it went away on it’s own) instead two weeks later in the mail I get this letter. So that is totally fine I will take my business elsewhere. I wouldn’t recommend bringing any pets here because they are so understaffed and there is no guarantee your pets will receive the best care.

I can’t speak for the veterinary services but I did board my dog there over this past weekend I don’t typically review places but when it comes to animals I would like to make everyone aware of this experience. I dropped my dog off with a list of items needed to help control his anxiety that was already made clear to the staff. They told me they would follow through with the daily regimen that helps control his anxiety. I give my dog CBD oil to help with the steroids he takes for his allergies to calm him down. The steroids of course make him extremely hyper but the CBD helps him calm down from it. The girls at the desk said it was no problem at all to give him the droplets during his stay. So of course I trust that they will have my dogs best interest at heart or tell me when they can or cannot complete something that involves him. My dog was not given the CBD oil as asked and I was told by the office manager the day I picked up they don’t agree with that. Well if you don’t agree with it. Why would you have accepted my dog and tell me you would follow through with that? Also I showed up to get him and they didn’t know where his kong was that gets filled with peanut butter to help relax him. They never filled it but once. ALSO I sent him with his own dog food because he has an extreme chicken allergy and it was measured for 4 days worth of food. It’s came back with him 3 quarters of the way full. So they either fed him their chicken based food or he didn’t eat(which by the way he looks probably is correct) if he wasn’t eating they SHOULD HAVE CALLED. My dog suffered because they NEGLECTED to tell me they didn’t want to complete the tasks I asked of them. He did not eat and he came and ate like a race horse. I know what there going to say is that comes with separation anxiety but that is what his CBD oil is for. And REGARDLESS of that they as a veterinarian based boarding facility SHOULD HAVE called the owner and the let them know that they were not able to care for him. Blaming my dog for you lying and neglecting to follow through with your promises is not his fault. If the staff was honest about the CBD OIL then I would have given them Benadryl but I guess they thought my dog suffering for the weekend was a better idea. Not a single call and my mom was there twice nobody said anything to her. Will not ever pay to have my dog stay there again. Cheap doesn’t make it good.

Love this vet's office. I picked up my dog today from boarding over the weekend. I've used them for boarding several times over the last few years and I also take my girl there for pet care. The staff is polite and caring. The only issue I have is that it takes a long time to get a Dr. appointment. However I rate this office the best in Elizabeth City and wouldn't hesitate to take my dig there. Five stars🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
