This accreditation signifies that the hospital meets rigorous standards of quality in all aspects of veterinary medicine, including patient care, diagnostics, and facility management. Their services encompass various aspects of pet health, from routine preventive care to advanced diagnostics and surgical procedures.
Preventive & Wellness Care: A cornerstone of their practice, this includes regular wellness exams, vaccinations tailored to individual pet needs, parasite control, and nutritional counseling. They believe in proactive healthcare to detect and address potential issues early, contributing to longer, healthier lives for pets.

One notable feature highlighted by customers is the personal touches provided, such as a welcome note on a chalkboard in the waiting area for new patients. This small detail contributes to a welcoming and personalized experience for families. The hospital's commitment to client education is also a significant feature; their team takes pride in informing clients about their pet's condition and the latest advancements in veterinary medicine, empowering owners to make informed decisions about their pet's care.
The hospital's focus on Fear Free certification sets them apart by prioritizing the emotional well-being of pets during their visits. This approach helps reduce anxiety and stress, making veterinary visits a more positive experience for animals. Their experienced team, including Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVTs) with a 1:1 doctor-to-technician ratio, ensures a high standard of care and attentive support for each patient. For new graduates, the hospital offers mentorship opportunities, including longer appointment times, shadowing, and hands-on surgical training, reflecting their commitment to professional development and high-quality care.
While specific current promotions are not explicitly detailed, Lancaster Small Animal Hospital supports various options for pet owners to manage veterinary costs. They accept pet insurance for unexpected accidents and illnesses, advising owners to secure insurance while their pets are healthy to avoid pre-existing condition exclusions. They also work with treatment financing solutions like CareCredit and Scratchpay, which allow pet owners to space out payments over time for larger unexpected costs, ensuring pets receive necessary medical attention without immediate financial strain. Furthermore, some pet insurance providers offer routine care add-ons or "wellness plans" that can help cover routine health expenses.
The hospital's mission is to provide state-of-the-art veterinary healthcare to enable pet owners to enjoy an optimum pet and companion experience with peace of mind. They are committed to serving the Western New York community by keeping clients informed about their pet's condition and the latest advances in veterinary medicine. Their active relationship with Buffalo Underdog Rescue also demonstrates their dedication to making a positive impact on the community and supporting animal welfare beyond their direct client base.
While one review noted a challenging experience regarding scheduling for an emergency euthanasia, it's important to consider that veterinary hospitals, like any medical facility, can experience high demand. The hospital's stated commitment to compassionate care and client satisfaction suggests that such instances are not reflective of their overall philosophy. The positive feedback about welcome gestures and the overall quality of care further supports their dedication to providing a positive experience for most clients.

Feb 10, 2025 · Shari FreitasSo disappointed when I called the office and explained my cancerous dog was having seizures all night and we needed to come in to put her down, to learn that they were all booked for the day and could try to squeeze me in at 10:15. Also, because they were booked that I would likely have to wait in the waiting room with my dog. So uncompassionate that I chose not to go there. Thankfully, I had experience with Orchard Park Vet on Buffalo Road due to our cancer diagnosis who told us to come in immediately. I will definitely not be returning to this office who cannot offer compassion when you really need it.
May 08, 2025 · Amy ZwolinskiI’ve brought my two dogs and cat here for years but my recent experience compelled me to leave a positive review because they deserve it! Dr. Fetzner and all staff, especially tech Carol are amazing, compassionate people who have taken wonderful care of my dog after a horrible accident that left him needing surgery and many vet visits! They know he is family and are going above and beyond to make sure he is ok. I appreciate everyone’s efforts so much!
Apr 06, 2025 · Heather Braunthe team at LSAH has been nothing short of incredible to us and our fur baby. They care so deeply about our girl and treat us like family. We appreciate their transparency and affordability, and feel so lucky to have them as part of our village. We are about to move out of state, but would drive the 3 hours to keep seeing them in a heartbeat!
Jan 30, 2025 · Sami CortesI have brought my dogs here for years and do not have a single complaint! Everybody has always been very professional, courteous, kind, caring and compassionate. I don't have a single bad thing to say about them and will bring my dogs here forever
