As a Pet Hospital, Lakewood Veterinary Services is equipped to handle a wide array of medical needs for pets. This category signifies a facility capable of diagnosing and treating various animal diseases and injuries, offering both preventative care and more intensive medical interventions. The services provided typically encompass general health check-ups, vaccinations, parasite control, surgical procedures, dental care, and diagnostic imaging. The objective of a Pet Hospital like Lakewood Veterinary Services is to promote the long-term health and well-being of pets, addressing their needs from puppy or kittenhood through their senior years. This comprehensive approach ensures that pets receive continuous care, fostering a strong and healthy bond with their owners.

While specific details about the internal environment of Lakewood Veterinary Services are not extensively provided in the given information, a Pet Hospital generally strives to create a calming and hygienic atmosphere for both pets and their owners. This typically includes clean waiting areas, examination rooms designed to minimize stress for animals, and specialized areas for treatments, surgeries, and recovery. The focus is usually on providing a comfortable and safe setting where animals can receive care without undue anxiety. The professional setting of a Pet Hospital aims to reflect the serious and critical nature of veterinary medicine, while also being welcoming enough to encourage regular visits for preventative care.

The services offered at Lakewood Veterinary Services, in line with its designation as a Pet Hospital, are designed to cover the full spectrum of animal health needs. Based on customer feedback, they appear to offer prompt care, even for new patients. One highly positive review highlights their ability to quickly diagnose and treat a pet's issue, stating they had "the equipment and medication on hand" and "saved my cats life." This suggests the availability of diagnostic tools and a well-stocked pharmacy, essential components of effective veterinary care. Such capabilities indicate a readiness to handle both routine health concerns and more urgent medical situations. The affordability mentioned by this satisfied customer also points to a commitment to making necessary veterinary care accessible, which is a significant factor for many pet owners.

However, another review offers a more nuanced perspective on the services and client experience. This customer notes being called "numerous times to get 'my dogs' shots updated," indicating a proactive, possibly persistent, approach to preventative health reminders. While some owners appreciate such reminders, others may find them excessive. The same review also highlights a focus on specific preventative measures, such as Lyme disease vaccinations, and expresses a preference for alternative protective measures like Seresto collars, suggesting that clients may have differing opinions on recommended treatments. Furthermore, the review mentions a recommendation for dental work on two dogs, including one who had extensive dental work the previous year. This suggests that dental health is a significant area of focus for the clinic, though it also raises questions about the necessity and frequency of such recommendations from the client's perspective, especially if the pet shows no obvious signs of discomfort or bad breath and receives at-home dental care. This feedback underscores the importance of clear communication between veterinarians and pet owners regarding treatment plans and the rationale behind recommendations.

Key features of Lakewood Veterinary Services, derived from the available information, include their apparent efficiency in handling new patients and their capacity to diagnose and treat issues on the first visit, as evidenced by the positive review. The presence of necessary equipment and medication on-site is a significant feature, allowing for immediate intervention in critical cases. The mention of affordability is another notable characteristic, making quality veterinary care more accessible to a wider range of pet owners. The clinic's location, described as "out in the middle of nowhere" by one reviewer, might be a feature for some, offering a quieter, more rural setting for veterinary visits, while for others, it might represent a minor inconvenience in terms of travel time.

Promotional information, while not explicitly provided as marketing material, can be inferred from the customer experiences. The most compelling promotional aspect is the positive testimony regarding their ability to "save my cats life" due to quick diagnosis, on-site resources, and affordability. This kind of real-world success story serves as powerful word-of-mouth promotion, highlighting the clinic's effectiveness in critical situations. The proactive approach to preventative care, such as vaccination reminders, while potentially perceived differently by various clients, also demonstrates a commitment to long-term pet health. For pet owners prioritizing swift and decisive action in medical emergencies, and those seeking cost-effective solutions, these aspects would be highly attractive. The clinic's ability to accommodate new patients promptly also acts as a promotional draw, particularly for those in immediate need of veterinary attention. The consistent follow-up for preventative care, even if occasionally perceived as persistent, underscores a dedication to maintaining pet health records and ensuring compliance with recommended protocols.

In summary, Lakewood Veterinary Services, functioning as a Pet Hospital in Rushford, NY, appears to be a facility that offers a range of essential veterinary services with a focus on timely and effective care. While its location might be a factor for some, its reported ability to quickly diagnose and treat serious conditions, coupled with affordability, stands out as a significant advantage. The clinic's dedication to preventative care is evident, although client communication and shared decision-making seem to be areas where different pet owners might have varying expectations. For local users, Lakewood Veterinary Services represents a comprehensive option for pet health, from routine check-ups and vaccinations to more urgent medical needs.

It's out in the middle of nowhere. The prices are also rising. With just those 2 examples, should have been enough reason for the 3 stars. However, this last visit was uncomfortable. I was called numerous times to get "my dogs' shots updated" When we arrived, I was there for shots for Lyme disease ONLY. Yes, it is important, but I take extra measures to protect my dogs with Seresto. It's never failed us. Another thing that was unsettling was they wanted to do dental work on both my lab and 5lb rescue. I was upset when I heard that because I had just paid around $800/7 teeth removed the previous year for dental work for my rescue. Both boys do not have bad breath, and I brush their teeth, indicating to me that there were no cavities or pain. The poor thing has a hard enough time eating now. Anyway, I'm looking for a new Vet that will not make me feel uneasy when making decisions about my animals.

My cat was a new patient that needed to be seen. I called them and they got him in. What a wonderful friendly staff. The receptionist, the technician and Dr Jeff were so nice and thorough. No pressure for anything and explained it all clearly. I would highly recommend them to anyone, hard to find such a caring staff.

Very friendly and compassionate. Took my kitten there on an emergency couldn’t call my signal was weak. So chanced it. They took her in. Took an X-ray she has lung contusion. I was so afraid of worse she got herself caught under mobile home bedroom door as they have gaps at bottom for airflow in mobile homes. Anyway thank you all so much from the bottom of our hearts for caring for Cupcake!! God bless you! Holly Townley & Amon Brock
