Been coming here for 6 years. They love my cat and they give me good information on how to keep my cat healthy. They even take my cat in on short notice when he has a problem. Staff is friendly too. Appointments don't take very long which is good because my cat does not like being anywhere but his familiar surroundings.

Lakeside Animal Hospital Introduce

For pet owners in Metairie, Louisiana, Lakeside Animal Hospital, located at 3838 Veterans Memorial Blvd, presents a complex picture based on the available customer reviews. Categorized as a "Pet Hospital," the clinic has garnered both positive and strongly negative feedback, highlighting potentially significant inconsistencies in the quality of care, diagnostic accuracy, and the overall experience for pet owners and their animals. Local users considering Lakeside Animal Hospital for their pet's veterinary needs should carefully weigh these contrasting experiences.

One long-term client, who has been visiting Lakeside Animal Hospital for six years, offers a positive perspective on their services. This reviewer expresses satisfaction with the care their cat has received, noting that the staff "love my cat" and provide "good information on how to keep my cat healthy." The clinic's willingness to accommodate urgent needs is also highlighted, as they "even take my cat in on short notice when he has a problem." The reviewer also praises the "friendly staff" and the efficiency of appointments, stating that "Appointments don't take very long which is good because my cat does not like being anywhere but his familiar surroundings." This positive feedback suggests a clinic that is caring, provides helpful advice, is accommodating to urgent needs, has a friendly staff, and respects the pet's comfort by ensuring efficient appointments.

In stark contrast, another reviewer offers a scathing critique of Lakeside Animal Hospital, strongly advising against it by stating, "I do not recommend coming here to this vet clinic. They suck & in my opinion do not care about your pets." This severe condemnation is based on a specific and concerning experience involving their dog's limping issue. The reviewer brought their dog to the clinic "months ago" due to limping, and despite X-rays being taken, the diagnosis was "oh it’s her hip” and that she has arthritis," which the reviewer believes was incorrect. Months later, the dog was diagnosed with a "torn acl but in dogs it’s called a ccl" at an emergency clinic after "yelping in agonizing pain." The reviewer expresses significant frustration and financial burden, stating, "Now I have to cover for her expenses and it’s not cheap… it’s extremely expensive. If they would’ve cared enough and did a proper diagnosis my dog wouldn’t be going through what she is going through now." This suggests a potentially serious misdiagnosis with significant consequences for the pet's health and the owner's finances. The reviewer also feels that the money spent at Lakeside Animal Hospital was "to waste" as they paid for X-rays, a consultation, and medicine based on the incorrect diagnosis. They further criticize the perceived lack of compassion, stating, "They don’t really show any compassion towards your dog as if it was their own. They want you in and out. Oh and they WANT your money too." The reviewer concludes with a strong negative recommendation: "So 0/10 recommend coming here. If you’re going to spend money go to a place that is going to give your pet the proper care they need." This review raises serious concerns about diagnostic accuracy, compassion, and the overall quality of care provided at Lakeside Animal Hospital.

Based on these conflicting customer reviews, the environment at Lakeside Animal Hospital in Metairie, LA, is difficult to assess definitively. One reviewer suggests a friendly and efficient atmosphere where the staff care about the animals. However, the other review paints a picture of a clinic that is rushed, lacks compassion, and prioritizes financial gain over proper patient care, potentially leading to misdiagnosis. These contrasting perspectives indicate a potential inconsistency in the clinic's environment and approach, which could lead to widely different experiences for pet owners.

The services offered at Lakeside Animal Hospital likely include general veterinary care, as is typical for a "Pet Hospital." This would encompass routine wellness exams, vaccinations, and treatment for illnesses and injuries. The positive review mentions care for a cat, including accommodating short-notice appointments for health issues. The negative review details the use of X-rays for diagnosing a limping dog. However, the discrepancy in the accuracy of the diagnosis raises concerns about the quality of these services. It is reasonable to assume that Lakeside Animal Hospital offers diagnostic services and pharmaceutical treatments, but the effectiveness and accuracy of these services appear to be in question based on the negative feedback. Surgical and dental services are not explicitly mentioned in the provided reviews, so their availability cannot be confirmed.

Several features of Lakeside Animal Hospital can be inferred from the reviews, although they present a mixed bag. A potential positive feature is the friendly staff and the willingness to accommodate short-notice appointments, as mentioned by one reviewer. The use of diagnostic tools like X-rays is also a standard feature of most pet hospitals. However, the negative review highlights significant concerns about diagnostic accuracy, the perceived lack of compassion, and a potentially rushed approach to patient care. The long-term patronage of one reviewer suggests that some clients have had positive experiences over time. However, the severity of the issues raised in the negative review cannot be dismissed.

The provided reviews do not contain any specific information about promotional offers at Lakeside Animal Hospital. Veterinary hospitals sometimes offer introductory specials for new clients or wellness plans that bundle routine services at a discounted rate. To learn about any current promotions or specific pricing for various services, local pet owners in Metairie, LA, are encouraged to contact Lakeside Animal Hospital directly at (504) 887-0282 or +1 504-887-0282. However, given the serious concerns raised in one of the reviews, it would be prudent for potential clients to also inquire about their diagnostic protocols and patient care standards.

In conclusion, Lakeside Animal Hospital in Metairie, Louisiana, presents a complex and potentially inconsistent picture as a "Pet Hospital." While one long-term client reports positive experiences with friendly staff, helpful advice, and accommodating service, another reviewer strongly condemns the clinic for alleged misdiagnosis, lack of compassion, and a rushed, money-focused approach. Local users should carefully consider these contrasting reviews and potentially seek additional information or testimonials before entrusting the care of their beloved pets to Lakeside Animal Hospital. The significant discrepancy in customer experiences warrants caution and thorough research to ensure your pet receives the appropriate and compassionate care they deserve.

I do not recommend coming here to this vet clinic. They suck & in my opinion do not care about your pets. I brought my dog here months ago in regard to her limping. They took x rays and said “oh it’s her hip” and she has arthritis when the whole time it was her knee. Months later (now) my dog has a torn acl but in dogs it’s called a ccl. I took her to the emergency clinic because she was yelping in agonizing pain. Now I have to cover for her expenses and it’s not cheap… it’s extremely expensive. If they would’ve cared enough and did a proper diagnosis my dog wouldn’t be going through what she is going through now. I spent money here for it to go to waste because I paid for x rays & the consultation plus medicine. They don’t really show any compassion towards your dog as if it was their own. They want you in and out. Oh and they WANT your money too. So 0/10 recommend coming here. If you’re going to spend money go to a place that is going to give your pet the proper care they need.

We left. My dog is suffering with a hurt leg, and I scheduled a day before, because they wouldn’t see her right away. Well, I get there, do the paperwork and wait. I waited 70 min, while hearing these nurses jabbing on about their personal life and problems. I finally talked to them about when I was going to be seen, and they gave me all these excuses as to why it’s taking so long, that there is only one person here, and the main vet, Dr McKenna, wasn’t there for the day, even though that was the purpose of the visit, was to see him. Don’t use this company. They are not nice and not well informed of their clients well-being.

My Yorkiepoo, Diamond, went into anaphylactic shock this week. Dr. McKenna took my dog to his house to make sure Diamond would make it thru the night. How many vets do that? He is a brilliant, caring, compassionate vet that truly cares for animals! He saved my Diamond! I highly recommend Dr. McKenna! Love this vet!
