I have a nervous 88 pound German Shepard mix so going to the vet is usually exhausting and stressful. We could not be more pleased with our experience here at Lakeridge. The staff took the time to get to know my dog and made both of us feel extremely comfortable. The vet tech was an angel and the Doctor took the time to explain to me what was happening and WHY my dog had these health problems rather than just throwing money at the problem. Such a good vibe and genuine care at this vet!

My experience with Lakeridge goes back many years until this past January 2024 when Finley our chihuahua was taken In for bleeding in mouth presumed from her gums on one side after brushing teeth. She wasn’t wanting to eat and felt bad. Bloodwork was done and exam to the mouth with a tongue depressor, and was told they saw a mass and she was put on antibiotics and started feeling better and appetite improved. After 2 weeks the cycle started again, same symptoms, so of course i took her back in. More blood work, she was loosing weight and was told she was anemic and a tongue depressor was used again to examine her mouth and more antibiotics. I was told the Dr saw lesions and a mass in the mouth and the Dr felt it was mouth cancer and I was assured they would schedule to sedate her to get a closer look. This never happened… I was already into 6 weeks with no definitive answers and I received a call from Dr Jones with the 3rd set of bloodwork results saying they had done all they could do for Finley and they were recommending Blue Pearl and an internal specialist as the diagnosis was cancer. And to add insult, she told me Finley wouldn’t lay there and say Ahhh for her to get a close look. But her diagnosis was the same. Of course, I was devastated. After waiting an additional 2 weeks for the internal specialist I got a call the day before Finleys appointment with the news that the internal specialist doesn’t even specialize in the mouth. We immediately made the decision for a second opinion of our choice and within 20 minutes of her being seen… we had photos of the mouth which concluded there was no lesion nor mass… it was an ulcer and after a dental procedure there was also an abscessed tooth that had caused the entire trauma to the mouth. After the procedure Finley became herself again, active, eating, weight back and blood normal. I took her back to Lakeridge to show Finley to Dr Jones …. I walked in and Dr Jones was standing there…. Saw us waiting… she completely turned and went to the back without acknowledgement and would not see us unless we made an appointment because in her words she had other patients and didn’t have time. She sent her front desk girl to the room to speak to me. Shame on me for waiting so long for that second opinion . Finley has a new Dr. who loves and cares now and is happy and healthy.

My GS was having serious gut issues. Brought her to Lakeridge and the vet tech asked a ton of questions to get an idea of what was going on. My GS loved her! Doctor Jones came to the room and the dog was definitely not happy at this point. Doc Jones gave my dog the space she needed to calm down. The doctor did not rush the exam and was very thorough. While it was a bit tense at first when we left my girl was friendly with doctor Jones. I appreciated the fact that she took the time to make my dog feel safe. Can’t say enough good things for Doctor Jones and Kelly! Thank you both for your kindness and patience with Sylvie!

We left a vet after 15 years to bring our fur babies here. The entire staff truly is amazing, and I am really picky when it comes the little fluffy ones! You are in good hands regardless of the vet you see, this office is perfect for everything from routine shots and nail clipping to surgeries. ❤️🐾

Dr. Jones is amazing! She listens to the pet owner's concerns as it pertains to their pets. She never pushes any treatment or medication! She explains the available options and does an excellent job of education! As long as she's here, my dogs have their Doctor!
