$89 just for a walk-in exam! That is what i was told over the phone despite i agreeing. Upon arriving, you felt like you were in a dr office, the staff didn't greet me, I had to greet them and tell them I had called to get my pet looked at. Doc comes in and barely looks at my dog and goes "oh it's his eyes we can do blah blah blah there is this test and these medications that will help i have 6 animals blah blah blah nurse will come in with the estimate " the nurse comes in and the estimate is almost $1,000!!!!! At that point, I decline everything except the exam and have a panic attack, and the doctor comes back in to explain himself tland that I can't do anything. I should do something. I told him it felt like he barely took the time to get to know us as patients and he just wanted to get money from me which I get they need since this place is literally falling apart but I would NOT spend that much on the kids I birthed. the doc apologize and again brought up that he has 6 large dogs and just wants what is best and even got my dog to eat wet food (which he never did in the 6yrs ive had him) Eventually, I calmed down and paid close to $300 for tests, exams, and eye drops, he explained that hlmy dog probably jad allergies and arthritis was obvious by how my dog was walking and trying to laydown. ultimately, the doctor seems like a good guy, but I do not ever want to come to this place again.

La Habra Animal Hospital Introduce
Welcome to La Habra Animal Hospital, located at 741 W La Habra Blvd, La Habra, CA 90631, USA. As a listed member of the "Pet Hospital" platform category, La Habra Animal Hospital aims to provide veterinary care services to the local community. The available customer reviews present a mixed perspective on the hospital, highlighting both potential concerns and positive experiences.
One customer described the environment upon arrival as feeling like a "dr office," noting a lack of initial greeting from the staff, which required the customer to initiate contact. This suggests that the initial reception experience might not be consistently welcoming. The same review also mentioned the facility appearing to be "literally falling apart," which could indicate concerns about the clinic's upkeep and overall environment. Potential clients might want to consider this feedback regarding the clinic's physical condition.
The services offered at La Habra Animal Hospital appear to encompass walk-in exams, diagnostic tests, and medication prescriptions. One reviewer recounted an initial phone quote of $89 for a walk-in exam that seemingly wasn't adhered to upon arrival. The same customer detailed a situation involving their dog's eye issues, where the initial estimate for tests and medications reached nearly $1,000. This experience raises questions about cost transparency and the perceived value of the services provided. The reviewer ultimately paid close to $300 for tests, an exam, and eye drops, with the veterinarian suggesting potential allergies and arthritis as contributing factors to the dog's condition.
In contrast to this experience, another long-term customer expressed consistent satisfaction with La Habra Animal Hospital, specifically praising Dr. Herrick. This reviewer has been taking their pug, Billy, to the clinic since puppyhood and has always had a "great experience." They highly recommend Dr. Herrick, noting that he has consistently kept their pug healthy. This positive feedback suggests that the quality of care may vary depending on the veterinarian seen or the specific circumstances of the visit.
A notable feature mentioned in the positive review is the friendly and knowledgeable nature of the staff. This aligns with the first reviewer's comment about the doctor eventually getting the dog to eat wet food, indicating a level of care and attention. However, the initial lack of greeting in the first review presents a contrasting view of the overall staff attentiveness.
The significant disparity in the two reviews suggests that while some clients have had very positive, long-term experiences with La Habra Animal Hospital, particularly with Dr. Herrick, others have encountered issues related to cost transparency, perceived service quality upon arrival, and the clinic's physical condition. Potential clients may want to weigh these contrasting experiences when considering this veterinary practice.
Promotional information is not explicitly mentioned in either of the provided customer reviews. It is unclear whether La Habra Animal Hospital offers any specific discounts, new client specials, or wellness packages. Local users interested in learning about potential promotions or the cost of specific services are advised to contact the hospital directly at (562) 697-3885 or mobile phone at +1 562-697-3885. Inquiring directly will provide the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding pricing and any available offers.
In conclusion, La Habra Animal Hospital in La Habra, CA, presents a mixed picture based on the limited customer feedback available. While one long-term client highly recommends Dr. Herrick and praises the friendly and knowledgeable staff, another reviewer reported concerns about high initial cost estimates, perceived lack of attentiveness upon arrival, and the facility's condition. Potential local users within the "Pet Hospital" platform category should consider these contrasting experiences. If considering La Habra Animal Hospital, it may be beneficial to inquire specifically about consultation fees, the cost of potential treatments, and the availability of specific veterinarians like Dr. Herrick. Direct communication with the hospital is recommended to gather the most current and comprehensive information to make an informed decision about your pet's care.

Apr 09, 2025 · Leslie LinaresWe were told $89 for a walk-in visit, and since we were in a bind, i sent my wife $100 to cover the visit. My wife did call me so I could listen in and "be there" while at work. this guy sounded full of himself by which I mean he barely shut up to listen to my wife until after she had a flipping panic attack over them wanting close to $1,000 for tests and pills and all the crap he wanted us to buy and told her we can't just do nothing which is NOT what we were deciding to do. My wife explained all that has been going on and we decided to run a few tests to avoid our dog going blind, the vet told my wife he has 6 animals and understands (but honestly that seemed kinda off because he kept throwing that number out but didn't "brag" about his pets like most pet owners do) and he was GIVING our dog a few cans of food but then the clerk was charging my wife full price for them, we declined and then they took 10% off like that was going to change our mind so my wife bluntly told the clerk "thank you but for the third and final time I don't want the cans". overall, we spent close to $300 for confirmation that our dog has arthritis and allergies. Bottom line, we will never return to this location and will go to a place that actually treats patients with a welcoming/loving manner.
Nov 22, 2024 · Tim DraughonI have a 9 year old Belgian Malinois who HATES the vet & I can’t thank Dr. Herrick enough for making both of us feel safe & spoke us through the entire process. Shout out to Felix who did his X-rays and had so much patience and reassured how well he did. They both never saw him as an issue or problem just treated him like any other dog. It’s hard taking your dog with muzzle on to the vet but they made it feel to safe & comfortable. The front office is great as well and answered all my questions and worked with my work schedule
