King Veterinary Hospital Introduce
King Veterinary Hospital, situated at 425 Kirby Rd, King, NC 27021, USA, is a highly esteemed "Pet Hospital" that has cultivated a reputation for providing exceptional and compassionate veterinary care. As a full-service companion animal hospital, their commitment extends to delivering quality veterinary care throughout the entire life of a pet. This practice stands out for its personalized approach, particularly for anxious pets, and its dedication to client education, ensuring pet owners are active participants in their pets' health journey.
While specific architectural details are not explicitly stated, the customer testimonials provide a vivid picture of a welcoming and reassuring environment. The experience of the cat owner, whose cat Finn was "absolutely terrified of everyone and everything," highlights the clinic's dedication to creating a calm and supportive atmosphere. The ability to stay with the pet during the examination, a stark contrast to some larger chain vets, immediately sets a comforting tone. The presence of a dedicated vet tech, Carolyn, who actively participated in calming Finn by "holding her hands over Finn’s eyes" and "cuddling/holding him," demonstrates a hands-on, empathetic approach to patient care that goes beyond standard clinical procedures. This suggests a facility designed with pet comfort in mind, likely featuring separate areas for cats and dogs, and a staff trained in low-stress handling techniques. The hospital also offers pet boarding services with climate-controlled kennels and separate areas for cats and dogs, ensuring individual attention and exercise opportunities for boarders.
King Veterinary Hospital offers a comprehensive array of veterinary services designed to meet the diverse needs of pets at every stage of their lives. These services aim to provide routine preventive care for young, healthy pets, facilitate early detection and treatment of diseases as pets age, and offer complete medical and surgical care when necessary. Key services include:
- Preventative and Wellness Care: The hospital stresses the importance of annual physical examinations for early detection and treatment of disease. This includes routine wellness exams tailored for young, middle-aged, and senior pets, canine and feline vaccinations (including legally required rabies vaccines and others based on lifestyle and risk factors), and individualized flea and tick control programs.
- Diagnostic Services: Equipped with modern diagnostic tools, they offer in-house laboratory facilities for quick results (serum chemistry, hematology, serology, urinalysis, parasite testing), as well as utilizing commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics. They also provide on-site digital X-rays and ultrasounds to evaluate various internal systems for disease processes, and electrocardiography (ECG) services with consultations available from cardiology specialists.
- Surgical Services: Their state-of-the-art surgical suite allows for a wide variety of soft tissue surgical procedures. They emphasize the use of the safest available anesthetics and modern equipment to monitor vital signs during all anesthetic procedures, ensuring an extra margin of safety, especially for older or high-risk patients. They can also perform minor orthopedic procedures and refer to surgical specialists for more complicated cases.
- Dental Care: Services include teeth cleaning and polishing, X-rays, tooth extractions, and minor oral surgery, with a focus on preventing and treating periodontal disease.
- Internal Medicine: They provide in-hospital referrals to internal medicine specialists who perform ultrasounds, endoscopic procedures, and assist with diagnosing more complicated cases. They diagnose and treat patients in all areas of medicine including infectious disease, dermatology, neurology, cardiology, gastroenterology, and urinary disease, with consultations or referrals to veterinary specialists when necessary.
- Microchipping: Offering permanent identification services to help return lost or stolen pets.
- Pharmacy: Maintaining a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos, flea and tick control products, and heartworm preventatives. They also carry a full line of prescription diets and offer an online pharmacy for convenience.
- Dietary and Behavioral Counseling: Providing guidance on nutritional needs for all life stages and advising on correcting behavioral problems such as excessive barking, chewing, and aggression.
- Boarding and Bathing Services: Pet boarding is available for clients, with climate-controlled kennels and personal attention from staff. Routine and therapeutic bathing services are also offered by appointment.
- Emergency Care: Instructions for after-hours emergencies are provided via their main telephone number.

Mar 22, 2025 · TaraMy wife and I have several cats, and we were pretty stressed about finding a new vet after our move to King. Our cats are like our kids. We have one cat in particular (Finn) who is absolutely terrified of everyone and everything, so we were especially worried about how the vet would treat him. We called several Banfield vets in the area, but they were mostly booked and told us we’d have to drop him off and couldn’t stay with him. Not only did King Veterinary Hospital let us stay with him, but our vet tech Carolyn also stayed with us during the visit and helped calm Finn down while Dr. Aldrich did the examination. Carolyn even held her hands over Finn’s eyes to keep him calm while Dr. Aldrich did all her checks and then cuddled /held him while we discussed a game plan with Dr. Aldrich. When it was time for Carolyn to take Finn into the back to do blood work we weren’t worried at all. As for the exam itself, we were very pleased with Dr. Aldrich. She took plenty of time to listen to our specific concerns, seemed to do a very thorough exam, and seemed genuinely interested in helping Finn get better. When we go to the larger chain vets it often feels like they are trying to get everything over with as soon as possible - not the case here at all. Excellent business - couldn’t be happier. Prices were reasonable too.
Oct 21, 2024 · Alex MontoyaWe go here with our dog. I feel like the staff here all truly care for the animals that they see. Exams are thorough, and we’ve always been able to go back in the room with our dog so that anything abnormal is explained as the exam is happening. They seem to do the best job that they can with every visit.
Apr 01, 2025 · Amity HammThis is the best vet office. The doctor and the lady at the desk are kind, intelligent they take their time and explain things to you, and they treat your pet just like it's theirs. I love this vet. I wouldn't take my dog anywhere else. There's nothing bad I could say about this office. They're awesome!!!
Feb 28, 2025 · Sheila BradleyI hope this place continues to be the best even after Dr. Bowen retires. I'll definitely miss him and his great bedside manner and professionalism. Definitely the best Veterinary Doctor I have ever known.
