I brought my cat in for extreme lethargy, low appetite, and distended abdomen. I suspected fluid build up (He seriously looked pregnant how big his belly was!). Vet looked at him for not even a full minute. She said there was nothing wrong. I persisted as he was not acting like his 1 year old playful self and his abdomen did not normally look like that, not to mention she weighed him and he was over 10 lbs because of how big his abdomen was! She never offered to take blood work. Went straight to the $90 x-ray. Word for word she states “This doesn’t look right.” Then she can’t really explain why. States that it’s “nothing fatal yet” and that I shouldn’t worry. Gives a couple shots. Says don’t worry if he doesn’t bounce back right away. then she says my cat needs a $300 ultrasound to diagnose but their dr doesn’t come in for it for another 6 days. I take my cat to the ultrasound. Find out it’s highly suspected FIP (highly FATAL virus!) and that they aspirated fluid from his abdomen. Which, I was worried about in the initial visit 6 days prior! If I never questioned her to begin with, she would’ve sent us home and my cat would have died within weeks. She really did not have a lot of information and gave me a name for a medication that could possibly help but it’s around $2k. There was no sense of urgency and I had to research on my own. I decided to call around through another vet hospital to get a second opinion in Manteno (Which I prefer them, but they were not open that day I needed to get him seen unfortunately). They said there’s a shelter in town that helps treat FIP and helps get the medications for it. Also to add to my frustrations, the money spent on x-rays and ultrasound was a waste because all I needed was bloodwork to confirm FIP in addition to the symptoms he presented according to the shelter and Manteno vet hospital. I could’ve started my cat a week ago on these life saving medications. A 12 week strict dosing every day he needs to take or he will die. I hope to God it wasn’t too late starting him on these medications as his appetite has been getting worse. I am extremely disappointed with the care I received and will never recommend this place.

3 weeks ago, our grey suffered from what we think was an aneurysm. His twisted body and blown pupil put him into a state of shock for 2 plus miserable hours until the vet opened. I called right at 8, spoke with Brenda, and she explained the vets couldn't make house visits due to insurance. I get it. She provided a service to come to our home to euthanize but they couldn't come for another 2 days. 15 minutes and 30 feet later, we managed to get Indy into the van. En route, we called the vet back letting them know we were headed in. Speaking with a different person, we caught her up to what had happened. She PUT US ON HOLD! She came back and with "a tone" said, "You can come on in but we'll have to charge you $75 because you don't have an appointment." Apparently, our dog needed to die in an appointment time. We showed up and there was NO ONE WAITING TO HAVE THEIR PET SEEN BY ANY DOCTOR. We left 15 minutes later and still no one. The money wasn't the issue. The disconnect of relationship with clients has increasingly affected what we used to call our favorite vet. After calmly stating what happened to a desk admin 3 weeks later, no one cared to follow up...which speaks volumes.

I don’t know the Lady vets name anymore but she was an older white lady. Very helpful to me and my dog. Took her no time at all to figure out the problem. Very knowledgeable lady. Treated me and my dog with care and respect. Front desk personnel were nice quick and helpful as well. Had to go to another clinic because they didn’t have the equipment. And the other clinic made me appreciate how everyone is here. Thank you!
