Kalvig & Shorter is hands down the best vet experience we’ve ever had! Dr. Kalvig and Dr. Kalogreas are incredibly knowledgeable, compassionate, and have a bedside manner that puts both pets and owners at ease. Our 14-year-old cat, Hampton, is notoriously anxious at the vet, but they make every visit smooth and stress-free. The office is calm and welcoming, and Christopher and Kevin at the front desk go above and beyond—always following up after visits to check in. If you’re an anxious pet parent looking for top-tier care, KSV is the place to go!

Jan 29, 2025 · Ian StrongI’ve had 2 bad experiences here. First with Dr Kalvig who gaslit me. She told me she would talk to her partner and get back to me about my pet. She never did. In fact she had an aggressive staff member call me back and ask me what I’m talking about. Dr Kalvig never took accountability for her actions. I should’ve never went back but I had an emergency and they were the only ones available. The second time I wasn’t even given a diagnosis after spending $700. When they do bloodwork they don’t do a full exam. They want to charge extra for checking the thyroid and white blood cells. I went to another vet that included all of it in the bloodwork. KSV just wanted to keep charging for different exams and mind you they are very expensive. I feel scammed and I’m never stepping foot there again no matter what the circumstance. The love of money trumps the love of truly caring for your pet here.
Jan 03, 2025 · AdamDear Dr. Kalvig and Dr. Shorter, I wanted to thank you again for providing me with such a valuable learning experience over the past few weeks to volunteer at KSV. Veterinary medicine has always been a field that I've been greatly interested in as someone who loves animals and science, but I've never had the opportunity to interact with anyone in this profession. How could I say that becoming a vet is my dream if I know nothing about it? So, I emailed and called about twenty vet clinics asking about shadowing opportunities last summer, but KSV was one of the few who responded. I grasped onto that "maybe" hard, called and texted the practice repeatedly (I'm sorry if I was annoying!), and it took me here! Both of you have provided me with a well rounded experience in veterinary medicine from a variety of different perspectives. Dr. Kalvig taught me how to interact with patients and owners with professionalism, patience, and care, whereas Dr. Shorter taught me about various instruments while explaining the science behind medical and surgery procedures in detail. It was also wonderful to meet, talk to, and shadow the rest of the KSV team. I greatly appreciate everyone for their patience and openness as they welcomed me into KSV and shared stories of how they became involved in the veterinary profession. I look forward to returning to KSV during my holidays, and I wish the best for you two and the rest of the KSV team in the meantime. Thank you, Amy
Jan 04, 2025 · Amy HeI have been a client of Dr. Kalvig and Dr. Shorter for over 25 years. Their knowledge, compassion, professionalism, availability are superb! They have cared for my 3 dogs and I can't say enough about them. People should have the care that they give to animals! Their staff is always professional and friendly. Dr. Kalvig and Dr. Shorter also help to train people interested in veterinary care. I highly recommend them to care for your pet. Joan Corey
Jul 25, 2024 · Joan CoreyDr Kalvig has been our vet for over 20 years. She's very profession and caring + nice to me + my dogs. The offices are clean + nice + I even board my dogs there when I travel. Her staff are so nice to my dogs when I'm away that I almost feel no guilt in leaving them.
