I've been using this clinic for over a decade for my kitties. The Guilderland office is my home base, but the Saratoga location is also nice. They work with you, and your baby to find the best solutions to problems and issues quickly. I have nothing but good things to say about everyone on the staff; from the Radiologists, to the Vet Techs, to the Veterinarians(especially Dr. TT), as well as the Support Staff, Receptionists and the Amazing Erika!! Everyone goes above and beyond at both locations, to help make sure your cat is taken care of - specially and attentively each time. They also do not scruff!! So important!! This is the only place, hands down, that I trust with my cats care. Not to mention they have the most handsome office kitty as well 馃惥

Just Cats Veterinary Clinic Introduce

Just Cats Veterinary Clinic, located at 2079 Western Ave, Guilderland, NY 12084, USA, is a unique and highly specialized veterinary care provider operating within the "Pet Hospital" category. What sets this clinic apart immediately is its singular focus: it is dedicated exclusively to the health and well-being of cats. This specialization means that every aspect of the clinic, from its environment to its staff training and services, is tailored to meet the specific needs of feline patients.

Environment and Facilities

The environment at Just Cats Veterinary Clinic is meticulously designed with the comfort and unique sensibilities of cats in mind. Unlike mixed-animal practices, a cat-only clinic eliminates the presence of dogs, which can be a significant source of stress for many felines. The Guilderland facility, as well as its Saratoga location, strives to create a "bark-free zone" where cats can feel unthreatened and more relaxed. The clinic has invested in modern equipment and state-of-the-art technology specifically for feline medicine. This includes advanced diagnostic tools and comfortable, quiet spaces.

The design incorporates features that cater to feline behavior, such as separate living and toilet spaces in boarding areas to reduce stress, and potentially natural lighting and soothing classical music to help cats settle in. The overall atmosphere aims to be clean, quiet, and stress-free. The clinic also boasts a "most handsome office kitty," further reinforcing its cat-centric identity and creating a welcoming, comforting presence for both pets and their owners. For clients, convenient, covered parking is often available, adding to the ease of access. The clinic also offers an on-site store for cat-specific products.

Services Offered

Just Cats Veterinary Clinic provides a comprehensive array of services tailored to feline health, encompassing both routine preventative care and advanced medical interventions. These services commonly include:

  • Preventative Care: This is fundamental to long-term feline health and typically involves routine wellness exams, vaccinations (including rabies, FVRCP, and Feline Leukemia), deworming, and parasite prevention. They emphasize annual check-ups for cats under 12 years and semi-annual visits for those over 12 due to the rapid changes that can occur in older cats.
  • Dental Care: Recognizing the importance of oral health in cats, the clinic offers dental work, including professional cleanings and extractions, utilizing digital dental X-rays for thorough examination.
  • Surgical Procedures: They perform various surgical services, including routine spaying and neutering, as well as other soft tissue surgeries tailored to feline anatomy and physiology.
  • Diagnostic Services: Equipped with modern technology, they offer advanced diagnostics such as general X-rays (digital radiography) and ultrasound to accurately diagnose illnesses and injuries. In-house laboratory services for blood work and other tests would also be expected.
  • Medical Treatment: For cats experiencing illness or injury, they provide medical consultations, prescription medications, and ongoing management of chronic conditions.
  • Emergency Care: While hours are specified, they indicate offering "Emergency Care," suggesting they can handle urgent feline medical needs during operational hours.
  • Grooming: Specialized grooming services are available, recognizing the unique grooming needs and sensitivities of cats.
  • Boarding: They offer luxury boarding services with features like spacious condos, natural lighting, separate living/toilet spaces, soothing music, and even webcams for owners to check on their cats. This caters to cats with specific boarding requirements.
  • Nutritional Counseling: Guidance on appropriate feline diets is provided, essential for managing weight and specific health conditions.
  • End-of-Life Care: They offer compassionate options for end-of-life care, including euthanasia, handled with sensitivity and respect.
  • Alternative Therapies: Services like acupuncture and laser therapy may also be offered, reflecting a holistic approach to feline well-being.
  • Online Pharmacy: For convenience, they partner with platforms like Vets First Choice for online medication and food purchases.

They are wonderful. My dear cat is more important to me than almost anything this world has to offer and I really trust them with her. We got some scary information and then great and relieving news from them today, and I am glad we were there to receive both.

BEST experience I've ever had with healthcare, including human doctors. A+++++++!! I will never take a cat anywhere else!!!! I called when they opened with a stray cat, and I wasn't established with them yet. The receptionist was very friendly and already had seen the email I'd sent over the weekend. Because the cat was sick, they got me in THAT SAME MORNING -- and when I got there, THREE people walked into the room: a doctor, an assistant, and another doctor who I think was shadowing because she wanted experience with ear mites. In the photo, you can see them doing a blood draw: one person is holding the cat, one person is holding the razor, and one person is feeding the cat a treat to keep her distracted. Even though I was a last minute appointment, they managed to gather a whole team! I look at this photo, and see my cat surrounded with care. Nobody was fumbling from a lack of hands. I felt like all three people were genuinely concerned about doing what was best for my cat, including drawing the line on not doing too much to her on her first vet experience so she doesn't develop vet trauma. For example, they thought from the way she was acting that shaving to check for spay scars would be too much for her on top of the blood draw and vaccines, but then when she was cool with having her leg shaved for the blood draw, they felt they could get away with shaving her tummy and it went fine. My point is, they really read the cat and thought carefully on how to balance care with a non-traumatizing experience. They also seemed to recommend only what the cat needed and nothing more. I didn't feel like they tried to upsell me or create unnecessary appointments. I planned to return for a spay, and they suggested deferring the microchip (which I asked for) and feline leukemia vaccine until then-- to put less stress on the cat on the first visit and to avoid unnecessary cost before blood tests came back. I also felt like nobody rushed, and in fact was surprised that they seemed to have all the time in the world for the cat and all my questions. This took longer than a human doctor visit. The doctor in charge was there for more than 15 minutes, and when she left to hand me off to the assistants, she told me so and invited me to ask her any remaining questions before she left. I wound up thinking of questions after she left, and each time, the assistant went and asked her. After the visit, I received an email that the doctor wrote personally, explaining the test results and asking how my cat was doing. Everyone, from the receptionist to the doctor, were patient, kind, reassuring, and professional. I will not trust my cat with anyone else. My little fur person deserves only the best, and I'm so grateful that I found it.

A very caring and knowledgeable practice. First appointment we had with them to establish our pride and joy Blue. 5 and 1/2 year old Persian mix. Nothing but great insight and professionalism. All staff was great. Would highly recommend taking your loved ones there.
