My wife and I had to say goodbye to our beautiful cat last week. Her name was Zena. Dr Joynt and his assistant came to our home and helped us say goodbye in the best way possible. They were very compassionate. I was able to hold my baby in my arms, in her home while she crossed the bridge. The house call even included the cremation. It was extremely reasonable and I thank the DR and his staff so so much!

Welcome to Joynt Veterinary - Dr. Kasey Joynt
Introducing Joynt Veterinary - Dr. Kasey Joynt, a unique and compassionate mobile veterinary service based in Salem, Oregon, serving local pet owners with a focus on providing stress-free and personalized care in the comfort of their own homes. Operating under the broader category of a "Pet Hospital" in terms of service provision, Joynt Veterinary offers a distinct alternative to traditional brick-and-mortar clinics by bringing essential veterinary services directly to your doorstep.
At the heart of Joynt Veterinary is Dr. Kasey Joynt, a veterinarian who is highly regarded by his clients for his personable approach, knowledge, and genuine care for animals. This mobile practice distinguishes itself through its commitment to providing a calm and familiar environment for pets, which can significantly reduce anxiety often associated with clinic visits. This is particularly beneficial for pets with conditions exacerbated by stress, such as Skeeter, a cat mentioned in a customer review suffering from cystitis.
Environment: Veterinary Care at Your Doorstep
Unlike a traditional pet hospital with a physical clinic setting, Joynt Veterinary operates as a mobile service. This means that the "environment" of care is your pet's own home. This offers numerous advantages: your pet remains in a familiar and secure setting, eliminating the stress of travel, unfamiliar smells, and interactions with other potentially anxious animals. For owners, this convenience saves time and reduces the logistical challenges of transporting pets, especially those who are ill, elderly, or have mobility issues. Dr. Joynt brings the necessary equipment and expertise to your home, transforming it into a temporary care space tailored to your pet's needs.
Services Offered: Comprehensive Care Tailored to Your Pet
While operating as a mobile unit, Joynt Veterinary provides a range of essential services that align with the offerings of a traditional pet hospital. Based on available information, these services include:
- In-Home Euthanasia: This is a deeply compassionate service highlighted in a customer review. Dr. Joynt provides peaceful and dignified end-of-life care for beloved pets in the comfort and familiarity of their own homes. This service includes the option of cremation, handled with sensitivity and respect. The ability to say goodbye to a pet in their home environment can provide immense comfort to grieving owners.
- General Wellness and Check-ups: While not explicitly detailed, the positive feedback regarding Dr. Joynt's knowledge and ability to recall past visit details suggests that he provides routine wellness checks and general health assessments. The fact that he visits Skeeter at home implies that he conducts examinations and provides care for ongoing conditions.
- Treatment for Specific Conditions: The review mentioning Skeeter's cystitis indicates that Dr. Joynt diagnoses and manages specific health issues in a home setting. This suggests he is equipped to handle various medical concerns, providing treatment and advice tailored to the pet's condition and home environment.
- Nail Trims: Although one reviewer noted that nail trims are an additional cost, it indicates that this service is offered as part of the broader care provided by Joynt Veterinary.
It is important to note that as a mobile service, Joynt Veterinary may have limitations on performing complex surgical procedures or requiring extensive diagnostic equipment typically found in a fully equipped pet hospital. However, for routine care, wellness checks, management of certain conditions, and especially for end-of-life care, the convenience and reduced stress offered by a mobile vet are significant advantages.
Features and Benefits of Choosing Joynt Veterinary
- Compassionate and Personalized Care: The reviews consistently praise Dr. Joynt's compassion, personable nature, and genuine care for animals. This personal touch fosters trust and comfort for both pets and their owners.
- Reduced Stress for Pets: By providing care in the home environment, Joynt Veterinary minimizes the anxiety and stress that many pets experience when visiting a traditional clinic. This is particularly beneficial for pets who are fearful, have mobility issues, or whose conditions are aggravated by stress.
- Convenience for Owners: Home visits eliminate the need for travel, saving time and effort for pet owners, especially those with busy schedules or difficulties transporting their animals.
- Focus on the Pet's Well-being: Dr. Joynt's approach allows him to observe pets in their natural habitat, providing valuable insights into their behavior and overall well-being, as highlighted by the reviewer who appreciated Dr. Joynt seeing Skeeter in his own home.
- Personalized Attention: The fact that Dr. Joynt remembers details from previous visits demonstrates a high level of personalized attention and a genuine connection with his patients.

Apr 16, 2025 · m m (Blackcvpi)I am very grateful to have Dr. Kasey as my Skeeter's Vet. He is personable, funny, knowledgeable and genuinely cares about the animals he treats. Dr. Kasey is wonderful at remembering what went on at prior visits ( much better than I, lol ). Skeeter liked him as well, even gave him kisses! I feel even more grateful that he comes out to the house! Skeeter has cystitis and should not be stressed. It also allows Dr. Kasey to see Skeeter in his own habitat! If I had to say one thing to make sure this is a well-rounded, absolute honest review, it would be that as someone that is extremely low income, it would be nice if the nail trim was included in the visit cost, especially beings that it is more expensive ( albeit understandably so, still economical, and definitely worth it!! ) to have a home visit. But, that definitely does not negate my overall extreme satisfaction; I just have to save a little more. I am officially, 100% recommending Dr. Kasey Joynt veterinarian services!! P.s his assistant was extremely pleasant as well!! Peace
