I can not say enough great things about these people. I have been taking my multiple cats, yes I’m a cat lady, there ever since we moved to the area. They really do care about your pets here. Unfortunately, I had two bonded elder sister cats who both had separate issues. The first to go was my beloved Zoe who had tumors and I was well informed that the surgery that was performed might not be enough to save her. Everything was always explained to me in great detail and choices were always offered. They tried to help save her but unfortunately it was her time. About a year after she passed my beloved Nayla starting deteriorating which I’ve been told is common to occur with bonded animals. We tried medication which helped for a while until it no longer did. Letting them both go in a short amount of time was devastating. But even in my hysterics, quite frankly I was losing it….the staff were so kind and considerate. I never in any circumstance felt pressured to make any decisions and nothing ever gave me the impression that they were ever trying to run up a bill as some other vets do. I will continue to have my cats seen there. And since I’ve recently rescued a puppy…I will also be taking him there. I uploaded some photos of my babies they tried to help me save. I miss them everyday.

The staff's demeanor also contributes significantly to the overall environment, fostering a sense of trust and reassurance.
The services offered at Johnstown Veterinary Associates - Johnstown cover a broad spectrum of veterinary needs, aligning perfectly with the expectations of a comprehensive "Pet Hospital." They also provide diagnostic services such as blood work, urinalysis, digital radiography (X-rays), and ultrasound, which are essential for accurately diagnosing illnesses and injuries. Surgical services are a core offering, as highlighted by customer testimonials. This includes routine procedures like spaying and neutering, as well as more complex soft tissue surgeries and emergency interventions, as exemplified by the emergency surgery mentioned in a review. Dental care, an often-overlooked aspect of pet health, is also a standard offering, encompassing cleanings, extractions, and oral health assessments. Mar 08, 2025 · Ashley AshuaI cannot thank everyone enough for all the help with Maggie! She had emergency surgery and is doing well! The girls at the desk are always helpful (even when you call ALOT.) All the staff was great. Will recommend anyone to take your pets here!
Apr 17, 2025 · Janet MohleI absolutely love Dr.Assad, I have been bringing my cats here since 2006. Dr Assad is very caring and compassionate. He explains everything to me very well so I can understand. In September 2022 our Garfield was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor. He passed away in February 2023. He was 17. I will always bring my cats here for their veterinary care.
Nov 06, 2024 · Catherine WiszI took my recently rescue to the Ebensburg office for an emergency visit. The office staff were kind and welcoming very helpful. During the appointment with the DR it was very thorough and precise on the issues and how to resolve the issues and I am beyond pleased. Thank you again for all that you did for us. Anyone who is need of a vet and thorough exams this is the place to go.
Apr 23, 2025 · Heather MartzJohnstown Veterinary Associates is those only place that I trust with my pets. I have 3 dogs and 2 cats, so I have made many visits to JVA for routine care and ill/injured pets. The entire staff is friendly and compassionate. All of the veterinarians are top notch, so much so that I don’t even have a preference of which one sees my pets. The staff keeps up with recent advances in veterinary care, which I can attest to because recommendations as to when to spay/neuter my large breed dogs has changed since I brought my first large breed puppy to JVA. I literally trust them with the lives of my precious pets!
