Our team understands that each pet is unique and deserves individualized attention and care. We are readily accessible by phone at (518) 762-2327 or mobile at +1 518-762-2327, should you have any questions or wish to schedule an appointment.

Based on feedback from our valued clients, Johnstown Animal Clinic is described by some as a small business with a big heart. The dedication and love for animals are evident in the interactions between the staff and the furry patients they serve. Dr. Amy Frech, our veterinarian, is highlighted for her extensive knowledge and ability to clearly communicate important information regarding your pet's health. Clients have expressed confidence in her expertise and appreciate her informative approach to veterinary care.

Furthermore, the support staff, including veterinary technicians and assistants, are commended for their experience and gentle approach when handling animals. Their patience and kindness contribute to a positive and reassuring environment for pets, ensuring they feel safe and comfortable during their visit. This commitment to gentle care underscores our philosophy of treating every animal as if they were our own.

However, it is important to acknowledge that, like any service-based business, experiences can vary. One customer reported a significantly long wait time during their first visit, leading to a negative initial impression. This feedback highlights the importance for Johnstown Animal Clinic to continuously evaluate and improve its scheduling and client management processes to minimize wait times and ensure a smooth experience for everyone.

The same customer also raised concerns regarding the cleanliness of the clinic environment. Specific observations included a cat, potentially a resident of the clinic, eating from a damaged bag of food on a retail shelf, and the presence of feces on a newspaper behind canned cat food. These are serious allegations that, if accurate, would indicate a need for immediate and thorough attention to hygiene and sanitation protocols within the clinic. Maintaining a clean and sanitary environment is paramount in a veterinary setting to prevent the spread of disease and ensure the health and safety of all animals and clients.

Additionally, the customer reported witnessing staff providing a client with expired medication for their dog, even though it was given for free. Dispensing expired medication, regardless of whether it is sold or given away, poses a significant risk to the animal's health and undermines the trust between the clinic and its clients. Strict protocols for medication inventory management, including regular checks for expiration dates, are crucial to prevent such incidents.

It is essential to consider all feedback when evaluating a service provider. While some clients have lauded the caring and knowledgeable staff, these serious concerns regarding cleanliness and medication handling must be addressed with urgency and transparency. Potential clients are encouraged to consider all available information and perhaps visit the clinic themselves to assess the environment and practices firsthand.

This place is not one I would recommend. On my first visit, I waited for over an hour past my appointment time. I decided to leave after I saw a cat, which I guess it was a resident of the clinic. The cat was on the shelf where there's cat food for sale. The cat was eating from a broken bag of cat food on the shelf. That wasn't the worst part! The last straw was when I noticed on a lower shelf a newspaper behind the canned cat food. The newspaper had poop on it. That was on March 25th. Disgusting! I also witnessed them give a customer expired medication for their dog, I mean, they did not sell it they gave the expired meds for free. Do not go there!!! Stay away!!

Can’t give 1 star because I haven’t experienced it. Spoke to someone here a few days ago and I felt rushed on the phone when they asked me a question about my dogs and the nonchalant response brought me to the reviews… I have an appointment tomorrow but I did something that I didn’t do to begin with. I READ the reviews and changed my mind at this very moment. I saw a review where someone called and said rude things were said when they decided to cancel they were hung up on. I’d rather just handle it differently it’s best that I DON’T call because if something rude is said I’d go have the conversation face to face. Might as well avoid the trouble and find another vet. Thank you guys for the reviews. Typically I’m not swayed by them, but there’s just TOO MANY. The cat poop took me out 😂😂 the reviewer took a pic of crusted up 💩 which sent me further out there 😂😂.
