Best vet & staff hands down. My family has been coming here since 2000 (2001?) so Dr. Johnson has seen, known, and loved 4 of our family dogs. I don’t trust anyone else with my baby.

Dr. J is incredibly kind and knowledgeable. Most importantly to me: He is practical and the staff all know my dog! He finds the right solution for your dog even if it isn't the mainstream solution. If I ever have any questions, I know I can call and talk to someone who cares.

Dr. Johnson and his staff tended to my dog's annual, routine needs with thoughtfulness and compassion. They gave clear advice and gave me many "pro-tips" on dog health. Dr. Johnson especially explained the medical topics in an easy-to-understand way.

Johnson Veterinary had been our family vet for over a decade. The staff is always awesome and friendly, and it shows that they care about your pets. Any time we have been in for non routine care, any recommended procedures or tests are always well explained, and I never feel as if I am being pushed into paying for something I don't need.

I, Raddles's mom, am giving Doc Johnson's Vet 5 full stars. HOWEVER, my big boy Raddles is super annoyed with Dr. Johnson. Raddles feels it was a total invasion of his personal privacy and possibly a HIPPA violation for Doctor J to tell Raddles's mom that he's 31 lbs overweight and to provide no more than 2 cups of food each day. Raddles wants you to know that Doctor J actually suggested eliminating the yummy bone marrow bones from the butcher's and giving salted, uncooked frozen broccoli as a treat. Raddles is definitely not pleased with Doctor J, but his mom sure is! I appreciate the fact that we never have to wait long in the waiting area after arriving because being at a vet's office can be traumatizing for both Mom/Dad and pup/cat. At the annual visits, if there is going to be any additional charges for any suggested and optional procedures)testing beyond the initial cost of the visit, iDr J will discuss it during the visit to give you the option(s) beforehand so you don't have sticker shock at the end of the visit .One thing I really appreciate about Dr Johnson is he will tell it to you straight. He will give you the cost to benefits ratio and allow you to make your own decisions... Instead of the vets that appear to raise the cost for every visit by giving unnecessarily strong suggestions to do X, Y, Z without any influence of practicality.....If your pup or kitty is 18yo and develops a cancerous lump, Dr. J isn't going to play on your emotions and tell you to opt for exploratory surgery. Nonetheless , I was first introduced to Johnson's Veterinary office nearly a decade ago when I offered to take my disabled friend's dog to Dr. J because her dog had a small growth on his eyelid that she was concerned over. Dr. Johnson diagnosed it as a harmless cyst, and while he said he could remove it under anesthesia, he also said that it would be a total waste of money because of the location of the cyst on the eye and surrounding nerves, it wouldn't be wise to surgically cut it oudt He showed me (to pass on to the owner) how to drain the cyst at home every 8-12 months, saving quite a bit over the cost of surgically removing it. Dr J seems to be much more aware of the cost-consciousness of veterinary medicine than any other vets I've been to -- including another well-known vet in Marietta where my daughter summer interned while studying animal prosthetics at UGA. I noticed a review saying that they don't/won't provide prescriptions to other pharmacies. This is not really accurate. They will not forward prescriptions to online pharmacies, BUT they will call-in any prescription to any local pharmacy. Since most of the prescription medication given to pets, particularly dogs, is the same as given to humans, getting prescriptions filled at Kroger or CVS can be a lot less than paying for the convenience of a vet's office. Medication, esp generics like antibiotics and anti-anxiety pills, are available at local pharmacies and usually save costs. However, prescriptions that are dog/cat-specific and unlikely to be carried by human pharmacies, like a monthly heartworm chew, can be purchased at this Vet clinic or called into another, local vet clinic as pet-only medication is unlikely to be available at Kroger, Publix, etc. since there's no human equivalent. In summary, I wouldn't hesitate at all to recommend Johnson's Veterinary Services... and although he's unlikely to be FULL in the near future, I'm sure Raddles will be giving his full endorsement 31 lbs from now.
