I had a situation recently where my freshly spayed cat stitches had busted open. I rushed her back to the clinic and everyone there was incredibly kind. I broke down in the exam room because of how scared I was and they did everything in their power to make me more comfortable and ensure me that my cat was in the best hands. I am beyond grateful for all that they do.

Dr. Johnson and his team were fantastic. He is very practical and asked great questions so as to give our puppy the medication and vaccinations that were appropriate. He was kind and wasn't pushy. He was even okay with all of our kids wanting to be there with their new pup! Pricing was reasonable, too! Highly recommend Johnson Veterinary Clinic.

All I have to say is "Wow". I got frustrated with my previous local vet, because every time I went in I felt like I was buying a high pressured sale of a car. Solicitations left and right for this and that. No discussion of pricing until you get back to the desk, pull out the credit card and immediate sticker shock. When I got a puppy recently and decided to start shopping around. I called every Shelbyville vet and all their pricing was very similar and was getting frustrated that for my puppies first year would cost me around $500.00 to $800.00, which includes all the puppy shots, exams, and spay (she is a female Shetland Sheep Dog). So, I expanded my search to include east Louisville and Simpsonville. Since Simpsonville was so close, i figured I would call them last, since I thought they would have similar pricing. However, they were by far the cheapest. I could get all my puppies shots and spay for all under $300.00. So, i set an appointment, went in and immediately was surprised about how clean the business was. I saw big dogs, little dogs, and a very friendly cat working at the reception desk (or at least trying to get some attention from customers and workers alike). While there, one sweet little dachshund dog had an ear infection and they were very kind to the dog and even came over to say bye to the pup once they handed over the medication to the owner. Afterwards, we went back and weighed our puppy and she was immediately greeted by an elderly vet who was all smiles. He listened to her heart, checked out her paws and such...I asked why and he said he was looking for skeletal problems. The assistant came in and gushed over our baby and he gave her her shot and the vet told us if there are any reaction to the shot to call him personally through their phone lines--day or night. To say the least, we were flabbergasted by that last part. The total for the exam and shots was exactly $30.12 and no charge for the examination. Everywhere else, the first visit was going to cost between $100.00 and $200.00. We have now done all our puppy visits and I can tell you that this is by far the best place to go and cheapest to boot. We have been very happy and now awaiting our babies spay appointment which is in early July. I just wanted to say thank you to everyone at Johnson Veterinary Clinic and we are so happy we found you!

I like this place because it isn't hectic. You go in, wait a couple minutes, go to the back, they look at your cat, and you're out just like that. They are also nice. We have had to put down one cat there. Professional. Reasonably priced. When one of our cats had a problem, they kept him there for several days. I don't recall the final bill, but it was in the low hundreds. We had a cat stay two nights in Chicago and it was like $2500.

I've had a lot of experiences with different veterinarians over the years. It is a different world out there, mostly money motivated. Mike is definitely down to earth. Just a couple of minutes and got a great feeling of finally it's about time I can trust someone who has the animals best interest. Thanks Mike.
