We were recently referred to Dr. Greene by our primary care veterinarian in Council Bluffs, and we were very pleased with our visit. Not only was the clinic exceptionally clean and organized, but we didn’t have to wait at all, and everyone we contacted was friendly and courteous. The receptionist was very pleasant and eager to check us in, the veterinary technician was very thorough and sweet, and Dr. Greene was really good to our beloved Molly while fully explaining to us Molly’s likely condition and the treatment options available. She instilled a sense of confidence that we desperately needed at that time. As very nervous pet parents, we were on pins and needles before and during the appointment, but by the end of the appointment our faith and hope had been restored. Dr. Greene was both very thorough with her exam of Molly, and explanatory with us. She offered us as much time as we needed to ask questions, and yet, she was extremely fair with the billing. We would definitely go back to this clinic and we wouldn’t hesitate to refer others to it as well.

Welcome to Iowa Veterinary Specialties: Nestor Derek D DVM
Iowa Veterinary Specialties, with Dr. Nestor Derek D DVM at its helm, stands as a notable facility for pet healthcare in Des Moines, Iowa. Located at 6110 Creston Ave, Des Moines, IA 50321, USA, this establishment aims to provide comprehensive veterinary services to the local community and surrounding areas. As a "Pet Hospital" in the platform category, it signifies a dedicated medical facility for animals, offering a spectrum of services from routine check-ups to advanced medical procedures.
The environment at Iowa Veterinary Specialties is often described as exceptionally clean and organized, a crucial aspect for any medical facility, especially one catering to pets and their owners. A clean and well-maintained environment contributes significantly to a positive experience, reducing stress for both the animals and their human companions. The organizational efficiency noted by some clients, particularly the lack of waiting times, suggests a well-managed system for appointments and patient flow, which is highly appreciated by pet parents who may already be anxious about their animal's health.
In terms of services, Iowa Veterinary Specialties, as a pet hospital, is expected to offer a broad range of veterinary care. While specific details on every service are not provided in the given information, a pet hospital typically includes general wellness exams, vaccinations, preventative medicine, and diagnostic services such as X-rays and blood tests. Given the nature of a specialty practice, it is highly probable that they also offer advanced procedures, potentially including specialized surgeries, internal medicine consultations, and emergency care. The mention of a referral to Dr. Greene for a pet with a likely condition and available treatment options suggests that the clinic handles complex cases and provides thorough explanations of diagnoses and treatment plans, which is a hallmark of comprehensive specialty care. The focus on fully explaining a pet's condition and treatment options is vital for informed decision-making by pet owners.
Key features of Iowa Veterinary Specialties appear to include a focus on customer service and clear communication. Multiple reviews highlight the friendly and courteous nature of the staff, from the receptionist to the veterinary technicians and the veterinarians themselves. The thoroughness of the veterinary technicians and the detailed explanations provided by the veterinarians are also recurring positive points. The ability to instill confidence in nervous pet parents is a significant attribute, especially when dealing with serious health concerns. Offering ample time for questions and being transparent and fair with billing are also valuable features that contribute to a positive client experience. The sentiment of "faith and hope restored" speaks volumes about the empathetic and professional approach of the staff in many cases.
However, it is important to provide an objective introduction, acknowledging all aspects of customer experience. There have been instances where clients have expressed significant dissatisfaction. One review highlights a frustrating experience involving billing discrepancies and a lack of empathy. The specific concern about paying a substantial amount for an X-ray that was never seen or provided in an accessible format, and the alleged denial of the pet's presence at the clinic despite an overnight stay, are serious issues. Such experiences, while hopefully isolated, can severely impact a client's trust and perception of the facility. This feedback underscores the importance of transparent communication, clear documentation, and efficient follow-up for all services rendered, particularly diagnostic imaging and billing.
Promotional information, while not explicitly stated in the provided text, can be inferred from the positive customer experiences. The most effective promotion for a veterinary practice often comes from word-of-mouth referrals based on excellent service. The statement, "We would definitely go back to this clinic and we wouldn’t hesitate to refer others to it as well," exemplifies this powerful form of promotion. The clinic's commitment to patient care, thorough examinations, clear communication regarding diagnoses and treatment options, and fair billing practices are all elements that would be highlighted in any promotional materials. Emphasizing the caring and supportive environment for nervous pet parents would also be a strong promotional point. Conversely, addressing and resolving issues raised by dissatisfied customers effectively would also serve as a crucial part of maintaining a positive reputation and attracting new clients.
In summary, Iowa Veterinary Specialties: Nestor Derek D DVM functions as a pet hospital dedicated to providing veterinary care in Des Moines, IA. Its strengths lie in its clean and organized environment, efficient service, and a team that, in many instances, is described as friendly, courteous, thorough, and effective in instilling confidence in pet owners. While it aims to provide comprehensive and compassionate care, potential clients should be aware of varying customer experiences, as highlighted by some negative feedback regarding billing and communication. As with any medical service, individual experiences can differ, but the overall impression points to a facility striving to offer specialized and general veterinary services to the community.

Mar 18, 2019 · Eric AndersenThe most dissatisfying experience for the second time, these people doesn’t have empathy for the situation, I spent lots of money just for nothing. They charge me 570 for an X-ray that I never got and never saw and the link they gave me didn’t even work when I took it to my veterinary, when my veterinary called them they said they didn’t see my dog when in deed I spent the whole night at their clinic. 👎👎👎👎👎👎👎 don’t go there, just use it as the last resource.
