IndyVet saw my cat when she was throwing up blood and had blood in her urine. She was promptly checked into a room so that I could let her out of carrier, which stresses her. The front desk staff were kind and helpful, as were the vet techs and veterinarian. The whole process took about 5 hours, which is why I have removed one star. I understand it is hard to keep places like this staffed well enough, but I hope for others to be seen more quickly than I was. On the phone they inform you that they do “triage,” meaning that more serious cases are seen first. I was very worried for my baby girl of course. Also, the $168 fee just to be seen is a bit jarring, but I am thankful for the care and that my girl is feeling better. I would recommend them to anyone with an emergency with their pet, as Bloomington where I am from does not have an emergency clinic. Worth the one hour drive.
Always a very nice experience here. We get the best personal care that I could hope for my fur baby. We see the vet ophthalmologist, Dr Klein. She and her staff are A+! And the front desk staff are great too! This is a photo of my Lucy at her follow-up last week.
I knew something was wrong. I thought it was life threatening. I honestly thought it was life threatening for weeks. I had good reason but I was wrong about it. I photographed the changes. But I'm happy beyond words that my guy is staying with me. Long story short, I come to see you, I hear you in the other room talk about how he looks like he's been in a barn, like he doesn't have a bed. You talked about him not even wearing his tags. You talked so I could hear you. Then you came to me and said he's overweight, has skin issues and you can't tell from the photo what happened though that wasn't true. You then said you're not comfortable with euthanasia. "That makes one of us" comfortable with not euthanizing him. Two of you were standing there. Three of us were in the room. I'm in shock! I had his tags for at home for memorial. Why bring them? Chamomile and lavender on the carpet because he kept hissing and being unpredictable. He lives in a beautiful home where he is loved, not a barn like you said. He's often photographed. He's microchiped. He doesn't go outside. He's my art studio cat. He's such a character. :-) I . Am. Broke. But I have not forgotten to love both humans and animals. Be kind to your kind, too. Don't forget that! Your secretary shouldn't handle my change. She's not honest enough. She plays airhead. She's not.
Our long-term pet cat has had hyperthyroidism. Given several options, we chose a radioactive iodine injection; with 98% lifetime cure; no daily pills. The facility and staff are impressive. With approx. 150 on staff they are well equipped for 24/7 sophisticated procedures. Expensive; insurance available. Post-procedure treatment and followup were exceptional. Being regulated, they are somewhat restricted in offering counsel for non-typical residential post-treatment quarantine. Living on 83 wooded acres, we're atypical. Our cat came home today and seems fine; will be staying outside for 2 weeks.
IndyVet did a great job of diagnosing and treating my cat when he was vomiting excessively after ingesting a foreign body. The receptionists, vet techs, and doctors were all super nice and understanding when I came in 3 times within 24 hours with my cat, and they took great care of him. He ended up needing surgery and they were able to get to his case quickly. There was great communication - I never had to wait on the phone for very long when I called them and during the visits they text you updates about how your pet is doing, and you can ask questions back. They have water, coffee, and vending machines for those long visits which was nice to have. They also have a designated cat-only section of the waiting room and cat-only exam rooms. They did a great job of explaining all of the procedures they were doing and providing cost estimates ahead of each procedure. They also brought my fur baby back into the exam room for me to give him pets and well wishes before his surgery, which shows their sense of empathy and compassion. The only downside was there were periods of waiting that were very long while I was there, each visit was about 3-4 hours long, but considering how huge the facility is and how many other trauma cases they deal with around the clock, the wait times were understandable.
