Humane Society Naples: Veterinary Clinic

Absolutely awful experience. My kitten left the shelter with pink eye, I got treatment for her elsewhere (because I live over an hour away) but conditions were getting worse so I called to get her in for a vet check through them. Since it was THREE days after their “warranty” they wouldn’t see her without having to pay… which we all know would rack up to $400. I would NEVER adopt from this place again. Super disappointed with their care. It’s the holiday season, have some empathy. As a healthcare worker myself, I’m amazed at how incredibly insensitive these people are. The vet is VERY money hungry.

I am 75 years old and rely on Social Security for my income. I haven’t been able to afford to have my two cats, Spunky and Joey, checked out or vaccinated for a couple of years. I discovered the Patty and Jay Baker mobile veterinary clinic, which provides free veterinarian care for those in need in connection with the Humane Society Naples. They ask only that people be honest about their ability to pay and to make a donation. I met the mobile clinic close to my home. Spunky and Joey were given a thorough exam and had their vaccinations updated. I was told Spunky needed to lose weight but otherwise both were healthy (did you hear that Spunky?) Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. It was an extremely positive experience and I really appreciate being able to have my fur babies cared for. Thank you Patty and Jay Baker for your generosity.

I foster a dog from the Humane Society. You can see Miley in the pictures. She's ready for adoption. The Humane Society is a wonderful no-kill facility and all the staff have such big hearts ♥️♥️. Did you know you can take a dog out for rescue recess? Rescue Recess is a program that let's adult dogs take time out from their kennel. Some of these dogs have been in the shelter for many years. You can take a dog out for a hour or the whole weekend! Go help a pup. They are so grateful. You can visit the main shelter on Airport Rd or the one at the Greentree Plaza, north Naples. 🐕🐕‍🦺🐶

I adopted a cat from the Von Arx center which was an amazing experience. I adopted a cat with urinary issues and was advised that we would receive a $600 credit to the vet to use towards OV, RX food, etc. I live in Ft Myers and work in Bonita and they let me know I could come to the vet clinic to pick up prescription food for my cat without bringing him since it's a far commute and they're only open M-F. Today i call to let them know i was going to leave work early to stop by to grab cat food and they told me I wasn't allowed to receive food without an office visit. I let the receptionist know what the shelter told me, and even informed her that our cat recently got a check up at another vet, and I could bring the records. She said no, that the cat HAS to come. Then tells me the next appointment is 10/23... I let her know my cat has 2 cans of food left and if he eats normal food he will develop urine stones, bleed while urinating, etc (all things we were told when we adopted). She proceeded to tell me there was nothing she could do and denied to let me pick up food early even after scheduling an appointment to hold him off. It seems like the Vet Clinic must not care too much about animals, considering they're willing to let a cat from their shelter be at risk to develop stones, not willing to make exceptions even though they were the ones who wrongly informed us at time of adoption. The shelter either lied just to get the cat adopted, or the veterinary clinic is money hungry. Very disappointed.

I cannot be more grateful for all work these people do for the animals. I highly recommend to visit for adoption or for taking care of your pets. The facility is very clean, stuff is professional, kind and polity. I can’t ask for more!
