I don't know how she does it but I'm thankful for it. We had to say goodbye to my buddy due to Osteosarcoma. Met her out front and took care of payment ($100 less than her closest competitor) Cecil got to hang out on the back patio and enjoy the sunrise and watching his birds on the feeders. She came out back and gave him a sedative before shaving a spot for a vein and getting him ready so he could relax. I laid down with my buddy one last time and she quietly administered the dose and left me to lay there with him. She explained everything and made sure we were aware of what could happen physically as he goes, respectful and quiet as he went. She said goodbye to us both and left us alone. He was a very large dog with a painful tumor on his right shoulder so not having to put him through the pain and stress of a vets office was definitely worth the extra $60 it cost to do it at home. He got to slip away at home on his bed watching his birds on a beautiful morning. Thanks Dr W for making a tough situation as easy, stress free and beautiful as possible. House Call Pet Doctor Introduce
Welcome to House Call Pet Doctor, your trusted partner for convenient and compassionate veterinary care in Newark, Delaware (DE) and the surrounding local areas. As a dedicated mobile veterinary service operating under the platform category of Pet Hospital, we understand the challenges of transporting pets, especially when they are ill, anxious, or nearing the end of their lives. Our mission is to provide high-quality veterinary services in the comfortable and familiar environment of your own home, minimizing stress for both you and your beloved companions.
At House Call Pet Doctor, we offer a range of services designed to meet the diverse needs of your pets. While we may not have a traditional clinic setting, our focus is on delivering personalized and attentive care where your pet feels most secure. Our primary service, and one that we approach with the utmost sensitivity and respect, is in-home euthanasia. We understand that saying goodbye to a cherished pet is one of the most difficult experiences for any pet owner. Our goal is to provide a peaceful and dignified passing for your pet in the comfort of their own surroundings, surrounded by the love of their family. This eliminates the stress and anxiety associated with a clinic visit during such a delicate time.
Based on the feedback from our clients, the environment we create during these difficult moments is one of compassion, respect, and understanding. We take the time to explain the process thoroughly, ensuring you are fully aware of what to expect. We administer sedatives to ensure your pet is relaxed and comfortable before the final step. Our approach allows you to spend precious last moments with your pet in a familiar setting, offering a sense of peace and closure. We handle the process with quiet dignity, respecting your grief and providing you with the space you need to say goodbye.
One of the key features of House Call Pet Doctor is the convenience we offer. We eliminate the need for stressful car rides and waiting rooms, bringing our expertise directly to your doorstep. This is particularly beneficial for pets who are fearful of travel, have mobility issues, or become agitated in unfamiliar environments. By providing care at home, we aim to reduce anxiety and create a more positive experience for your pet, even during difficult times. This convenience extends to payment as well, with at least one client noting cost savings compared to a traditional clinic setting for similar end-of-life services.
While our specialization lies in providing compassionate end-of-life care, the nature of a mobile veterinary practice allows for other potential services. Depending on the specific needs of the local pet community and the expertise of the veterinarian, House Call Pet Doctor may also offer services such as wellness checks, vaccinations, minor illness care, and medication administration in the home. We encourage you to contact us directly at (302) 234-7848 or +1 302-234-7848 to inquire about the full range of services we currently provide.
It is important to address all feedback received, and we acknowledge a review that raises concerns about a recommendation made regarding a newly adopted cat. The review suggests that euthanasia was recommended prematurely without exploring other options such as shelters, rehoming, or behavioral assistance. We understand that such situations can be complex and emotionally charged. While we strive to provide the best possible care and advice based on the information available at the time, we also believe in exploring all viable options for a pet's well-being. Every case is unique, and a thorough assessment, including the pet's history and behavior, is crucial in determining the most appropriate course of action. We are committed to open communication with pet owners and encourage them to discuss any concerns or questions they may have regarding their pet's care.
Our commitment to the local community is to provide a valuable and needed service that prioritizes the comfort and well-being of your pets. We understand the strong bond you share with your animal companions and aim to support you in providing them with the best possible care throughout their lives, including the difficult final stages. The positive feedback regarding our compassionate approach to end-of-life care highlights our dedication to making this challenging time as peaceful and stress-free as possible for both pets and their owners.
We encourage local users in Newark, DE, and surrounding areas to consider House Call Pet Doctor for their pet care needs, especially when convenience and a low-stress environment are paramount. Whether you are facing difficult end-of-life decisions or require other in-home veterinary services, we are here to provide compassionate and professional care. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us via phone at (302) 234-7848 or mobile at +1 302-234-7848 to discuss your pet's specific needs and how we can assist you. Dec 04, 2017 · Jason TowersHas to be a quack vet, immediately recommended owners put their cat down after having it only 3 DAYS. Without bothering to look into its history (has never broken the skin before this) or suggesting other paths first to my knowledge like shelters, rehoming, behavioral assistance, etc. The owners were going to put it down if they didn’t find someone to take the cat immediately. Thankfully a shelter took the cat in. The cat bit the owners, but that happens for a variety of reasons especially when in a new environment and rarely is it a cause to put a cat down. What vet would even recommend putting a vaccinated cat down for biting someone after having it barely 72 hours?
Nov 18, 2023 · BrittanyI used Dr. CAROLINE for about five years or more. The reason I stopped was I had to cancel an appointment at the last minute. (I'm 76 with serious health problems. ) At the next appointment, she laughingly added $90 to the bill for the missed appointment. Not funny and too much for old people just making it.

Sep 27, 2024 · KateWe made the sad and difficult decision to put our 21 year old cat to sleep. We didn't want her last moments to be in a scary vet's office, so we called House Call Pet Doctor thinking that it would be less traumatic to say goodbye at home. In contrast to most vets, House Call Pet Doctor was not warm or empathetic. She was pretty tactless and almost awkward. Fine - we were just planning to deal with her this once, and in my mind, it was worth it for our cat to slip away peacefully in her bed (although probably not what I would want to deal with for annual wellness checks). After it was done, she strangely walked out of the house without saying anything. I had to yell after her asking when we would get her ashes back. She replied, "About a week." Almost a week later, I get home from work to see a Boscov's bag tied to the door. I thought it was a menu or campaign ads, so I was shocked to see that it was our cat's remains. The vet didn't call/text/email to tell us she was dropping her off. Worse yet, it was raining that day. Our pets are our family, so this was really upsetting that House Call Pet Doctor had no respect for our cat's ashes or our grief. I highly encourage anyone looking for a mobile vet to look elsewhere.
