Horn Lake Animal Hospital and Urgent Care

Cannot recommend AT ALL. After going here for years for all of our babies. Dr. Christy Allen told me I need to consider my dogs “quality of life” and have her put down due to her luxating patella. Our chihuahua was only 8. She said and I quote: no one will perform the surgery on her because of her age and even if they did, it would be $8-10,000. She said we need to have our baby girl put to sleep because she was limping due to that. I did not give up. I called around. I asked several vets and Southaven Animal Hospital referred me to Dr. Tim Fleming in Hernando Dr. Tim Flemming corrected both of her back knees luxating patella’s for about $2200 and was absolutely shocked at the information Christy Allen had given me about having my dog put to sleep and could not believe it but I am the one that received the phone call from her that said I need to. Here we are 4 1/2 years later and my Chihuahua, Lily, is now 11 about to be 12 and is happier and healthier than she has ever been and does not limp. Her knees are perfectly fine thanks to him. I do not recommend anyone who genuinely cares about the highest quality care for their pet to go to this facility. I cannot speak for the other veterinarians there, but we always ended up with Christy Allen when we went. She should not be anywhere near animals due to the lack of compassion she showed and NOT helping us when we were willing to spend whatever it took to help our baby girl. never again. I will never send anyone here or recommend this facility. She should not be near any animals. You can see her post op photos and then here 2 photos with her momma Sophie (14) several years later. All happy and healthy. And to think if I had trusted Christy Allen, I wouldn’t have those pictures or memories or happy healthy baby girl.

I brought my 13-1/2 year old basset hound to Horn Lake Animal Hospital and Urgent Care Saturday. I was in a panic, my regular vet was closed. My baby was not wanting to walk, her muacles were twitching and she looked blind in 1 eye. Everyone was so nice and took care of my sweet baby and explained everything that was going on with her. My baby has spondylosis and the eye was her 3rd eyelid, I didn't know she had. She is still in pain, but I'm treating with pain and anti-inflammatory meds.

I love this vet/ hospital. 6 years ago when I first rescued and the grass was a little tall. Her insission from care covington rescue group. Tha next day she had been outside and her incision from the no making babes scar was bleeding! Im disabled so broke i was. I walked across the street to my amazing Vet! First time there and they said dhe had scraped it but no biggy! And the this wonderful giving soul saud no charge today! 🦋🐛🐞🌻⚘️🥀🌹🎪🕍💕😍

Do not take your fur child here mainly because of Dr. Christy Allen she called me in a panic stating that my furbaby had to have her bladder stone surgery that day although her surgery was scheduled the following week, talking about her quality of life Is diminishing each day. The surgery was $1800. And I told her I wouldn't have that until the following week when I get paid. She said. Well, I guess you want your baby to die, she needs surgery right now!!! I was in a panic. I didn't know what to do but I thank God for the Holy Spirit who recommended me to get a second opinion and I called Central animal hospital in Memphis on Central. I have dealt with them in the past. And they've always took wonderful care of all my fur babies and I was able to talk to Dr. Jennifer, who was able to see me the same day it took Horn Lake animal hospital forever to send over the x-rays, which was outrageous on how long we had to beg them to send us those x-rays. But long story short Doctor Jennifer Kerans. Look at the situation, told me that this was not a life or death situation. The $1800 that they were trying to charge me and at HLAH. I only had to pay $1300 for the same surgery. Please get a second opinion before you do anything. Especially if Dr Kristy Allen is going to be the Doctor.

Took my kitten in because she hadn't been vaccinated yet and caught a cold, everyone I dealt with was wonderful and it was very fast. They gave me medicine for my baby and less than 24 hours later she already feels so much better and is eating again. Thank you ❤️
