My bestfriend in the whole world was put down here about a week ago. I fainted and hit me head on the wall and no one was mad at me. I don't understand how people are capable of euthanizing animals. I have a lot of respect for the people that are capable because I could never do it. Ever since I left that place I've wanted to be put down. I miss that furball so much. He was my world. My heart aches but it was his time. He was 18 years old. It's not fair how short their lives are. I would do anything to hold him for one more minute.

I brought in my German Shepherd Saffie to receive stitches on her paw. She had cut it chasing after a varmint. I saw the depth of the cut along with the crazy amount of blood and opted for the vet. The service was up to par and the staff was friendly. My three star rating mainly reflects the $530 bill I had to pay. I called them shortly after they opened and they had me make an appointment for 10 am and I showed up at 9:20. They informed me on the phone I would need a $200 deposit before I brought her in. I thought possibly because they didn't know the extent of the damage or Sapphire being a new patient there. Either way I was okay with the deposit and paid it upon my arrival. As soon as that was paid they went ahead and took her back and told me they would contact me as soon as they were done. Long story short, they put her under gave her three stitches bandaged her up woke her back up, gave her a flea chewable, and called me approximately a half hour later. That was when she told me $338. I said ouch and figured $338 was expensive but worth it for the stitches and Saffy not bleeding to death. It wasn't until I got home that I realized they charged me an extra $338 on top of the $200 I deposited.馃あ I thought they had made an honest mistake and had forgotten that I gave them a $200 deposit but when I contacted them they said it wasn't a mistake. I understand businesses need to make money but there's has to be a line somewhere. Gouging and taking advantage of someone in their time of need should be unacceptable but we're forced to deal with whatever a person deems is their value on an unregulated scale. Also not forewarning a person of the potential amount of money that they were going to charge in excess of the $200 deposit. If they would have told me it was going to be over a half a grand for three stitches I definitely would have sought out another vet. When the prior Vet was still there he was more than reasonable. For example a family member of mine had to take her cat there, it was having stomach problems. They kept her cat for three or four days to do a major surgery with its intestines, rearranging them they were twisted up or something along them lines. The total was way less than what I received for three stitches and a flea prevention chewable. This wasn't too long ago either, I think around 2019 or so. The surgery, three nights and 4 days, cost her around $370 bucks. Hey I get it we all want to be rich but average folks don't bring in $200K a year to be able to afford outrageous, unexpected bills. Most of us are just trying to keep up with the ones we already have and a hit to the pocket like that is sometimes hard to recover in a timely manner. Again the employees are nice, polite people and seem to enjoy doing what they do working with animals. I'm just in disbelief of the costliness of a simple procedure. Pricing should reflect the amount of materials and effort put forth towards completing a task. If it took over a half a grand in materials and time to put in three stitches, somethings wrong.

Wonderful vet and staff! This sweet and special boy showed up at my house one random day a few months ago. After trapping him i scheduled him with Horizon to have him looked at as he seemed in not so great shape. They got him in the next day and ended up having to keep a few days for some bloodwork and tests. A few days later he was able to come home with the all clear! All was going well until Blitz started sounding congested. Scheduled him again with horizon and got him checked out he ended up with some other issues( a polyp) and needed to be put under anesthesia. After a day or two he got to come home again. Then of course a few weeks later (yesterday) he had to be schedule again to get another polyp removed. Little Blitz is a trooper! Throughout all of this chaos and not much going completely as planned with this little guy the vet has been absolutely amazing and determined to get this little guy healthly! I honestly couldnt ask for a better vet! We still have a ways to go yet till Blitz is fully healthy but the help he has received this far has been wonderful! Shout out to the staff as well for being just as wonderful and caring . Thank you all so much for helping with this sweet little kitten!

i originally took my cat to my usual vet after noticing weird behaviors that was unlike him. i didn鈥檛 feel satisfied with this vet鈥檚 care, approach, or detail on what was going on.. asked about bloodwork and he told me to not worry about it. i decided to come to horizon after my friend highly recommended them to me. i needed a second opinion, my baby wasn鈥檛 getting better. they were pretty booked but i still got in the following day after i made my appointment. all of the staff was very friendly and kind. dr shuler was even more expressive and enthusiastic to see me and my cat. after his physical exam, he told me my cat had a mass on his liver- something my other vet didn鈥檛 care to inspect. shuler was very realistic about what i should expect going forward with surgery. when i brought him in, he still did blood work for me. called me shortly after he had him on the table and visibly identified my cats lymphoma but wasn鈥檛 certain without a biopsy. he sent him home with me to recover and talk about plans going forward- unfortunately my cat didn鈥檛 survive post op. i don鈥檛 think it was in anyones control, or that i could have saved him even if i brought him back in time. they gave me privacy and empathy when it was time to let him go, and did everything i could have asked for. i鈥檓 still hurt by my loss of my fur baby but i am so thankful i went to this clinic instead of anywhere else. very intelligent, empathetic, and throughout veterinarian all around.
