I can’t say enough good things about Hooves, Paws, and Claws Vet Clinic in Claremore and Dr. Lesleigh Cash. She’s the only vet who actually took the time to thoroughly examine my rooster and listen to the full timeline of his symptoms. His eye randomly was swollen shut and I was 99% sure he had injured his eye. A few days later, his eye was swollen shut still and his breathing turned a bit raspy, but that was it. He was still eating, drinking, acting totally normal, with a bright red comb and wattle. I called so many vets, and nearly all of them gave the same response: “Swollen eye? Probably mycoplasma or coryza. Best to just cull.” The first vet that finally agreed to see him didn’t even take him out of the crate—just glanced in, said it was probably a common respiratory issue, and handed me antibiotics…. that were expired…We did three weeks of those antibiotics with zero change. I called Dr. Cash’s office without realizing they were already closed and figured I’d just try again the next day—but she called me back a bit later, saying she noticed a missed call and wanted to make sure everything was okay. She spoke with me on the phone for a bit, and based on what I described, said it didn’t sound like a respiratory infection and told me to come in the next day. She thoroughly cleaned my rooster’s eye, diagnosed an eye ulcer from the injury, and gave me the correct ointment to treat it. You may wait a bit past your appointment time—but she’s absolutely worth it. She’s kind, thorough, explains everything clearly, and truly cares. I’m so grateful we found her. 186141% recommend!

Welcome to Hooves Paws & Claws
Hooves Paws & Claws, located at 1840 W Country Club Rd, Claremore, OK 74019, USA, operates as a unique and highly valued "Pet Hospital" in the Claremore area. Led by the renowned Dr. Lesleigh Cash, this clinic is accessible by phone at (918) 342-1509 and is distinguished by its personalized approach and deep commitment to animal welfare, serving a diverse clientele that includes both traditional pets and more unusual companions like poultry.
The environment at Hooves Paws & Claws, while described as "old" in terms of its building and equipment, is permeated by an atmosphere of profound care, wisdom, and straightforward honesty. This isn't a "fancy-schmancy" clinic, but rather one where the focus is squarely on effective treatment and genuine concern for the animals. The lack of modern amenities is clearly outweighed by the exceptional experience and knowledge of Dr. Cash and her team. This practical and unpretentious setting fosters a sense of trust, as clients understand that the emphasis is on the animal's health rather than outward appearances. The warmth and dedication of the staff, including a new vet who seems to be "on the same page" as Dr. Cash, contribute to a reassuring environment for pet owners, even if they might experience a wait beyond their appointment time.
Hooves Paws & Claws offers a range of veterinary services, with a particular emphasis on thorough examination and accurate diagnosis. While specific service listings (like surgery, diagnostics, or specific wellness programs) aren't detailed in the provided reviews, the anecdotes highlight a capacity for comprehensive assessment and treatment across various animal types. The clinic's willingness to see and correctly diagnose conditions in animals often dismissed by other vets, such as a rooster with an eye ulcer, speaks volumes about their expansive expertise and dedication. This includes, but is not limited to, handling common ailments and, crucially, being able to discern beyond initial, generalized diagnoses often given without proper examination. The clinic's approach to treatment is practical and effective, focusing on what truly benefits the animal rather than unnecessary procedures.
A truly standout feature of Hooves Paws & Claws is Dr. Lesleigh Cash herself, who embodies the spirit of a "country vet" with an unmatched level of dedication and wisdom. Her willingness to "take the time to thoroughly examine" pets and "listen to the full timeline of symptoms" sets her apart significantly from other veterinarians. This meticulous approach leads to accurate diagnoses, as demonstrated by her correct identification of an eye ulcer in a rooster after other vets had incorrectly suggested respiratory issues or culling. Her communication style is clear and direct; she "explains everything clearly" and "will tell it like it is," fostering a sense of transparency and trust with pet owners. This honesty, combined with deep care, creates a uniquely valuable relationship between the vet and the client.
Beyond her diagnostic acumen, Dr. Cash's commitment to animal welfare extends to extraordinary lengths. The review mentioning her coming to a client's house "almost a decade ago to put a dog down. After 9 PM. That's dedication. You're gonna be hard pressed to find that just anywhere," powerfully illustrates her profound empathy and willingness to go above and beyond for her patients and their grieving families. This level of personal dedication, offering end-of-life care in the comfort of a pet's home during late hours, is a rare and deeply appreciated service. This dedication to difficult, emotionally charged situations further solidifies her reputation as a veterinarian who genuinely cares, prioritizing the comfort of both the animal and its human companions during their most vulnerable moments.
From a promotional standpoint, Hooves Paws & Claws thrives on powerful word-of-mouth recommendations. The "186141% recommend!" endorsement, though hyperbolic, vividly conveys the immense gratitude and satisfaction of clients. The clinic's ability to offer care for animals often turned away by other vets (like poultry) and Dr. Cash's reputation for thoroughness and accurate diagnosis, despite or perhaps because of her "old" equipment and building, are significant draws. Her dedication to client communication, even calling back after hours, and her willingness to make house calls for difficult situations are invaluable promotional assets that speak to a profound commitment to service. While the clinic might not promote itself with flashy modern appeals, its core values of experienced, compassionate, and dedicated care resonate deeply with pet owners seeking genuine, effective, and empathetic veterinary service. The combination of wisdom, care, and practical expertise makes Hooves Paws & Claws a truly unique and highly recommended veterinary option in the Claremore community.

Apr 17, 2025 · Cari HillyardDr. Cash is a country vet. If you're looking for some fancy-schmancy, latest and greatest medical treatment to keep Fido alive for 50 years, then this isn't the place for you. Her building is old. Her equipment is old. But her experience and wisdom negate all that. If you want someone who cares, but will tell it like it is, then she's your gal. She's a smart lady, and one damn fine veterinarian. She's got a new vet working in there who seems to be on the same page. She came to our house almost a decade ago to put a dog down. After 9PM. That's dedication. You're gonna be hard pressed to find that just anywhere. Thank you, Dr. Cash.

Dec 01, 2024 · David GaulrappWe cannot say enough about Dr. Cash. We have used her for over 20 years. She has helped us through all the emergencies, ups, downs and each time we lost one of our fur babies. All day and all night she has always been there. Her staff are all very knowledgeable and understanding of the emotions with our babies. I would….and have recommended her to everyone. We cannot thank you enough!!!!!! One of our babies had both front legs broke at the same time. Lots of love and care. We have lost Jello 16, Roady14, Spazz 131/2 , Molly 12, Sterling 7, and Stempy 6. Our baby girl Little is going to be 12 this year. Simply the best possible care!!!!
