Holly Tree Animal Hospital

My wife has already posted, but it took me a few days to try and comprehend the letter they sent to us. If you value compassion, professionalism, or basic decency, stay far away from Holly Tree Animal Hospital. My cat recently underwent an eye removal, a heartbreaking ordeal, and while the medical team seemed competent, the front office staff couldn’t have been more dismissive or rude. After politely providing feedback about their unprofessional behavior, we were told to ‘find another vet' via a letter. Imagine that...instead of addressing valid concerns, they essentially fired a loyal customer during one of the most emotional experiences a pet owner can face. It’s not just tone-deaf, it’s outright cruel. This clinic clearly doesn’t care about building trust or relationships, and the leadership obviously enables this toxic environment. Pets deserve better. Owners deserve better. If you love your animal and want to be treated with respect, do yourself a favor and find a clinic that actually values you. This place certainly doesn’t. At this point, I don't care about their response, as shallow as it may be.

Dr. Pate at Holly Tree Animal Hospital has helped our pets through some tough times, always with great kindness, knowledge, and compassion. He has patiently answered our many questions and walked us through all our options. On the day a couple of years ago when we arrived without warning at the clinic door with our beagle emergency, he was there for us (the beagle made a full recovery). Recently, he has helped us with our beloved geriatric cat. If you are looking for a vet hospital with wonderful doctors and outstanding staff and service, look no further than Holly Tree! Highly recommend

I can't thank the staff here enough for everything they did for our Dixie! I spent hours calling around everywhere to find the care she needed at an affordable and from the moment I called they went above and beyond to come up with a treatment plan to give her the best chance. We definitely found our new home for vet care with them and would highly recommend to anyone! Thank you guys so much!

Our Sophie went to dog heaven on 3/8/2024. Miss her everyday! Dr. Shrum and staff were compassionate, gentle and loving during the closure of her life. Very appreciative for your kindness. Maria & Eddie Ely

Love Dr. Shrum! But not too excited about the front desk staff or the vet techs. I didn't get a super great vibe that they enjoy what they do. The day I took one of my dogs there for a nail trim it was very apparent that neither of the front desk staff wanted to be there; and one of the vet techs admitted "they all wanted to get out of there". I guess she wasn't lying bc they chose me $28 for a nail trim where they forgot to trim the dew claws. Additionally, I'm not crazy about using Simparico combo preventive, which the vet tech told me is all that they use. I found that to be a concern for a vet hospital not to offer their clients at least two choices in flea/tick and heartworm prevention. I'll be keeping my 6 pets at Hillcrest AH where they have multiple vets on staff at all times, offering evening and Saturday appts. I was disappointed to see Holly Tree does not offer Saturday morning appts. Hey, I get it, they all want (and deserve to have)a personal life outside of their work. But, as a pet parent with 6 animals, I need greater access to veterinary care that doesn't force me to use emergency animal hospital svcs.

The folks here really care. I've seen some reviews regarding price...and yes they are not the most economical but the care your animal will get is exceptional. Dr's Pate and Shrum and staff do everything they can to properly care for their patients. We have both of our dogs here for treatment and boarding and are very happy.
