Our family has been bringing our beloved Chihuahua, Max to Hillsboro Animal Hospital for 16 years. We have always had the highest quality of service and care for our little guy. This week we had to make the decision to let go of our wonderful family member of 16 years. Our doctor that had been our care giver for Max had retired and I called Hillsboro and asked for an appointment. The front desk scheduled us to see Dr. Madeline Williams. We had never met Dr. Williams and just wanted someone that understood our situation and feelings about this day and offered their perspective and guidance. Dr. Williams spent an extended period of time with us listening about his conditions and hearing of our love for the best dog we have ever had. We all agreed that it was time to let go of our loved one. She and her assistant administered a sleeping sedative that allowed Max to be on my lap and he fell asleep. He was then euthanized with no pain. Dr. Williams gave us a hug and offered her condolences. We left with Max and took him home to be laid to rest in our back yard. Thank you Hillsboro Animal Hospital for the great care of Max that gave him such a healthy and long life and thank you Dr. Williams for your great care and understanding in this difficult time.

We love it here! Dr. Gugliemli is the vet for my dog, Daisy, and cat, Graham Cracker. We have had nothing but great experiences with her. She treats our animals so well, and she is great at explaining everything to us pet owners! When she is unavailable, we have been seen by many of the other doctors here, and all of them are great!

My mother carries her dog while visiting to get her nails clipped. My dog is a very nervous dog and they do wonderful here. I have used them when I had dogs and loved the veterinarian I used too. They are a little pricey but very convenient and good. Staff is very friendly and good with animals there too.

This review is for Dr. Madissen Bernstein specifically, but I have had a 5 star experience with every provider who has treated my dog since I moved to Nashville 7 years ago. Earlier this week my boyfriend and I had to cut our vacation short because we received a call from his parents, who were watching our almost 15 year old female greyhound dog, that she was very sick and likely near the end of her life. They were able to provide her excellent palliative care so that we could make it home to see her, but I was doubtful she was going to make it through the night based on how sick, confused, weak, and disoriented she was when we arrived. I was almost certain she had had a stroke. We brought her home and gave her love and comfort through the night. The next morning we made an appointment with Dr. Bernstein for the afternoon, informing the staff that we were expecting this to be an end-of-life visit but we wanted to have a vet who had treated her previously evaluate her before arriving at that decision. The compassion and professionalism of the team who handled that call was impressive, and that treatment was also experienced in person by every team member. When we got to our visit, Dr. Bernstein handled our difficult conversation with concern, empathy, and expertise. She did a thorough physical evaluation of my dog and said “I don’t think this is a stroke, her nervous system appears to be intact. This might be old dog vestibular disease.” She then went into great detail about the symptoms, treatment, and prognosis of this condition and answered all of our questions about quality of life, prolonging suffering, etc., with kindness, understanding, and compassion. Through her guidance and expertise, we elected to try to treat the suspected condition versus putting my dog to sleep and were able to take her home with us that night. 24 hours later, my dog is beginning to return to her old self. She is regaining her energy and personality. She is even smiling at me like she used to! I am completely overwhelmed with happiness and gratitude for Dr. Bernstein. My boyfriend wants to bring his pets to Hillsboro Animal Hospital now after our experience at this visit. I cannot recommend them any more, from routine visits and care to emergencies. Thank you from all of us!
