When adopting new cats, I wanted a vet that was not only financial friendly, but rated highly by other customers with their animals in need of care. I stumbled across Highlands Animal Care, and I understand why they have spectacular reviews across the board. The team at Highlands is very responsive, great communication, and you can tell that everyone loves and has a genuine passion for your babies. I have asked these ladies countless questions, and they answer each one with a smile on their face and very informative responses. They’ve been active in my cats’ life with every call I’ve made with different concerns. They also see exotic animals as well, which is wonderful as I’m also a reptile keeper who loves reptiles just as much as anyone else! Their office, rooms, and bathrooms are always very clean and decorated with very humorous posters, which is a nice pick me up if you happen to receive bad news. They’re honest, and not here to do a cash grab-they want what’s best for your baby and you. My cat got diagnosed with asthma, which involved them filling him in on a week where they were rather booked up, but they brought him in to ensure that he was okay. With an asthmatic cat and a lady cat who’s about to be a senior, I couldn’t be any happier to call Highlands Animal Care my trusted veterinarian and am always excited to bring my animals in and see the wonderful staff! Dr. Francher and Dr. Amster are the best. Thank you guys for everything you do with unbeatable care and costs, especially nowadays!

Nov 26, 2024 · Amaya FlemingI don’t normally even trust businesses with such high ratings (did they manipulate them?) but Highlands really deserves the 5 stars. All the vets I’ve seen have been excellent, even the techs are way better than the other place I went. They always price out everything and ask permission to move forward, you get great notes after every visit. I like them so much that even though we moved 45 mins away I still make the drive to take my new cat there.
Mar 27, 2025 · Meredith DennisSo they started out ok but went down hill fast. We have an 18 year old dachshund names Flash. He had a bout of pancreatitis back in September and then in October he had a couple small seizures, Dana Amster came in looked at him for the first time and said he has some brain problem or tumor ever though there had been zero tests and that the best thing you can do for him is euthanasia, then she said I'll give you 10 minutes and I'll be back. We of course said no. I did research and found there are much more common reasons for seizures in dogs than rare brain issues, like low blood sugar or kidney or liver issues, but no they argued about that. Well now over 5 months later Flash is doing great. I decided his diet and minimum pain meds. He loves going to the park in Boulder City riding in his dog stroller, we go 2 to 3 miles per night so it's like over 300 miles he would have never gotten, car rides plus all of puppy dreams, lots of treats that he would have never gotten if we had listened to Amster, if you get her as your vet always get a 2nd opinion. We had also taken him there for acupuncture with Patrica Wagner at $95 per session, which seemed to help? And I also use laser at home. I asked several times if Wagner could show me where the best place to use the laser would be but she would never do it. Did have the tech say " I don't know anything about acupuncture and I don't want to" So I will NEVER take one of our dogs there again, period. Maybe they are great for simple things like shots but do not trust them beyond that.
Mar 19, 2025 · Gary KabalaI made the switch today from another nearby animal hospital and I’m so glad I did. Not only is everyone so friendly, Dr. Amster was amazing- so friendly and thorough and she had a vet tech with her the whole time taking notes which is so helpful. The vet tech was so gentle and offered my nervous baby treats to make the whole process easier. I highly recommend this place and so happy I found it, a new home for my fur babies care!
Mar 22, 2025 · K AThis has been our vet for about a year now and we love it!!! It’s clean, spacious, fast and reliable service and staff. My two dogs like coming here, and I couldn’t be happier . We have tried two other vets in Henderson before highlands and we unfortunately didn’t have very good experiences. I love highlands animal care vet. It’s close to him, offer all the services my two dogs need of whom one is a senior and the other a puppy. I’m extremely happy and content here. Would truly recommend :) The prices are reasonable and they’re upfront about it.
