Welcome to the introduction of Highland Veterinary Clinic, a dedicated Pet Hospital committed to providing supportive, empathetic, and efficient veterinary care for your beloved pets. While their physical location is in Akron, Ohio, USA, we understand the importance for pet owners everywhere to find a trusted local Pet Hospital that embodies these qualities. This introduction aims to highlight the attributes and services that make Highland Veterinary Clinic a potentially excellent choice for your pet's health needs, should you be seeking a facility with similar values and dedication in your own local area.

Based on the heartfelt testimonials from pet owners, Highland Veterinary Clinic appears to foster an environment of exceptional support and care. One of the most striking aspects highlighted in the reviews is the overwhelming empathy and accommodation shown by the staff during the difficult time of a pet's passing. This level of compassion suggests a deeply caring and understanding team, capable of providing comfort and grace during challenging moments for pet owners.

Furthermore, the positive experiences of a new client who recently switched to Highland Veterinary Clinic underscore the clinic's commitment to attentive and loving care. The staff is described as great, and the veterinarians are noted for being very attentive to the animals. A specific instance involving a dog with a severe ear infection illustrates the clinic's efficiency and willingness to provide timely care, contrasting favorably with the longer wait times offered by a previous vet. Their ability to promptly schedule an appointment, perform necessary diagnostics like cytology, and initiate appropriate treatment highlights their dedication to addressing pet health issues in a timely manner.

As a Pet Hospital, Highland Veterinary Clinic likely offers a comprehensive suite of services to address the various health needs of your pets. While the reviews primarily focus on the staff's demeanor and efficiency, we can infer some standard services typically provided by a reputable veterinary practice. These often include routine wellness examinations and vaccinations, which are fundamental for preventative care and maintaining your pet's overall health. These check-ups allow veterinarians to monitor your pet's well-being, detect potential problems early, and administer necessary immunizations.

In addition to preventative care, Highland Veterinary Clinic likely offers diagnostic services to help identify and understand any health issues your pet may encounter. This could include in-house laboratory testing (such as blood work, urinalysis, and parasite screenings) and imaging capabilities (like X-rays) to aid in accurate diagnoses. These tools are essential for providing effective treatment and care.

Regarding medical treatment, the clinic would likely offer care for a range of illnesses and injuries, from common ailments to more complex conditions. This might involve prescribing medications, providing wound care, and managing chronic diseases. While not explicitly mentioned, surgical services, including routine procedures such as spaying and neutering, as well as other necessary surgeries, are often part of the services offered by a comprehensive Pet Hospital.

A significant feature emphasized in the reviews is the clinic's willingness to work with pet owners to find timely appointment slots, which is particularly valuable for those with busy schedules. This flexibility indicates a client-focused approach aimed at making veterinary care accessible when needed. Moreover, the clinic is described as very affordable, which is an important consideration for many pet owners seeking quality care without undue financial burden.

While specific promotional information isn't available in the provided reviews, many Pet Hospitals often offer introductory discounts for new clients, seasonal promotions on specific services (like dental cleanings or vaccinations), or wellness plans that provide bundled services at a reduced cost. To learn about any current promotions at a local Pet Hospital you are considering, it's always best to check their website or contact them directly.

Based on the positive feedback, key features of Highland Veterinary Clinic appear to be:

  • Supportive and Empathetic Staff: Particularly noted for their compassion during difficult times.
  • Attentive and Loving Vets: Demonstrating care and thoroughness in their interactions with pets.
  • Timely Appointment Scheduling: Willingness to work with clients to find suitable times.
  • Affordable Care: Making quality veterinary services accessible.
  • Efficient Service: As seen in their prompt response to an urgent ear infection.

If you are a local user seeking a Pet Hospital that combines compassionate care with efficient and affordable services, the attributes highlighted by Highland Veterinary Clinic are excellent indicators of what to look for in your own community. When researching local options, prioritize clinics known for their supportive staff, attentive veterinarians, and commitment to timely and accessible care. Reading online reviews and perhaps scheduling a visit can help you determine if a local Pet Hospital aligns with these important qualities.

To reiterate, Highland Veterinary Clinic is located at 578 W Market St, Akron, OH 44303, USA, and can be contacted at phone number (330) 253-6868 or mobile phone +1 330-253-6868. I recently switched to this vet clinic from another clinic and they have been amazing! The staff has been great and the vets have been very attentive and loving to my dogs. One of my dogs had a terrible ear infection recently and our previous vet only offered appointments a week out and suggested I go to urgent care/a pet hospital. I called here and they were able to get him in that day (offering a few different times), do his cytology, and get him on the appropriate standard of care treatment. They have also been great with helping us get all of his necessary vaccinations and exams for upcoming boarding while we are traveling. They are very willing to work with you and find times to get your animals seen in a timely fashion which is huge for us with our busy schedules. They have also been very affordable! I am very thankful that we were able to find them!

i had several issues with this clinic, but the thing that made me never go back was when they sent me home without enough medication, made me pay for the additional meds so i could finish the course of treatment, and when i questioned why i had to pay again when it's their fault for not giving me enough meds in the first place, was told i must have been "squeezing the bottle too hard" (it was ear drops). i have worked in animal care, including vet med, for about a decade, i know how to administer ear drops... there was simply not enough medication dispensed. the receptionist laughed at me as well when i asked why i was being charged for their mistake. my other big issue is that they would not allow me into the building with my pets because they're "renovating". if it's safe for pets and staff inside, it's safe for customers. i think they just did not want me to see them manhandle my dog, who is anxious and doesn't do well without me. they would drag her inside then bring her back out panting with bloodshot eyes. she gets cytopoint (allergy injection) and she would always be bloody where they injected her. i now give her cytopoint myself and she has never bled. i can only assume she was struggling extremely hard and they were rough with her because an SQ injection should not be bleeding. she bled from her vaccines from here sometimes as well. the vet refused my request for anxiety meds for my extremely neurotic, ex-feral cat who has endured a lot of trauma, and also misdiagnosed his ocd/self harm behavior as an ear infection. he ended up getting a urinary blockage from stress, needed an unblocking procedure followed by an invasive and painful PU surgery, a week hospitalized, over two months in a cone, all could have been avoided if they had agreed to medicate him. i once picked up flea/tick meds from here, and was charged $80 more than the listed price in their online store, even though i had called and asked if it was the same price in person as online and was told yes. i only bought these from them in the first place because they refused to approve my chewy order and insisted i buy from their store. the hours are also really inconvenient, and the longer i went here the shorter the hours got. im guessing this is due to understaffing because they are constantly hiring on indeed (for very low wages). they are also overpriced. since i work in vet med, i know what the costs are for various medications and supplies, and i also know what they are paying their employees because they post it online, their business costs do not line up with how severely their services are marked up. and just to get crap service, have your pet misdiagnosed and manhandled, and get talked down to. more than once they sent me home without any discharge instructions. i can't recommend this place at all. it's been a year since i stopped going here and it's taken me this long to write this review because whenever i think about it i get too angry.

I have a diabetic cat (Lance) and my Vet was out of town. I called Highland Vet Clinic, and they set me up with an appointment and were very helpful in my time of need! I would definitely recommend them if you are looking for a knowledgeable, caring pet clinic! I found them to be very reasonably priced. We have 5 dogs and 2 cats and with Lance being diabetic we are at the Vet's office quite often.
