Just had a horrible experience at this hospital. My mother brought my dog in to complain about his eyes. We were sent away with some eyedrops for excess discharge in his eyes. A few weeks later, I noticed my dog bumping into things. When I called to ask about the doctors notes for his last visit, we were told that he would need to come back to get reexamined. This time the doctor took a closer look at his eyes and informed me that he was going blind. Why wasn’t this caught he first time we had his eyes examined. We had left our dogs there to be bathed in the morning and did not receive a phone call to pick them up as it was getting late. I called the hospital at 4:45 to check on the status, one of the associates had asked me to come by and reminded me that they closed at 5:30. This became an issue because I live 35 to 40 minutes away. When I returned to the hospital I was informed that they lost my credit card information to secure the payment. The doctor was also quite short when I wanted to ask questions about my dog, reminding me that they close at 5:30. I will no longer take my pets to this hospital due to the incompetence of the vets and the unprofessional staff.

In the realm of pet care, selecting the right veterinary service provider is crucial for ensuring the health and happiness of your pets. Pet hospitals serve as vital hubs offering a spectrum of medical and wellness services. Highland Animal Hospital, as a local pet hospital in Fayetteville, North Carolina, positions itself as a provider of such essential care. This introduction aims to offer prospective local users an objective overview of what the clinic may offer, drawing inferences from available information, including customer reviews.

Environment and Atmosphere:

The environment of a pet hospital plays a significant role in the comfort and stress levels of both pets and their owners. While specific details about the physical environment of Highland Animal Hospital are not explicitly provided, it is reasonable to expect a standard veterinary clinic setting. This typically includes examination rooms for consultations, treatment areas for medical procedures, and potentially surgical suites for more complex interventions. A clean and organized environment is usually a hallmark of a professional veterinary practice, contributing to a sense of trust and care.

Based on one customer review, there was an instance where a pet was left for bathing, suggesting the facility might offer grooming services. The review also mentions waiting until late for a pick-up, implying operational hours that extend beyond typical daytime work hours, though specific closing times were noted as a concern by the reviewer.

Services Offered:

Pet hospitals generally offer a wide array of services to cater to the diverse health needs of animals. These services typically include:

  • Routine Check-ups and Wellness Exams: These are essential for preventive care, early detection of health issues, and maintaining overall pet health through vaccinations, parasite control, and nutritional counseling.
  • Diagnostics: This encompasses various tools and procedures like laboratory tests (blood work, urine analysis), imaging (X-rays), and other diagnostic methods to identify illnesses and conditions. One customer review mentioned an eye examination, indicating that such diagnostic services are likely offered. The review, however, also raised concerns about the thoroughness of the initial examination.
  • Medical Treatments: This includes the management of various illnesses, injuries, and chronic conditions through medication, therapies, and other medical interventions.
  • Surgical Procedures: Many pet hospitals offer surgical services ranging from routine procedures like spaying and neutering to more complex surgeries. There is no direct mention of surgical capabilities in the provided information, but it is a common offering in pet hospitals.
  • Dental Care: Dental health is crucial for pets, and services often include teeth cleaning, extractions, and treatment of dental diseases.
  • Emergency Care: Some pet hospitals provide emergency services for critical situations requiring immediate medical attention. The provided information does not explicitly state if Highland Animal Hospital offers dedicated emergency services or refers to other emergency facilities after hours.
  • Grooming Services: As indicated by one review mentioning a dog being bathed, basic grooming services might be available.

Features and Approach to Care:

The features of a pet hospital often revolve around the expertise of the veterinary staff, the technology and equipment available, and the overall approach to patient care. Highland Animal Hospital is led by Bostic Berry DVM, suggesting a veterinarian with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree is at the helm. The quality of care can be inferred from customer experiences, which in this case present a mixed picture.

One positive review highlights a pet's positive experience with the staff, indicating a potentially caring and friendly environment for some animals. This suggests that the hospital may have staff who are good at interacting with pets and creating a comfortable atmosphere for them.

However, a contrasting negative review raises significant concerns about the thoroughness of medical examinations, communication practices (regarding appointment follow-ups and pick-up times), and professionalism (lost credit card information and perceived shortness of the doctor). This review points to potential inconsistencies in service quality and areas where improvements might be needed in terms of staff training, communication protocols, and attention to detail.

Promotional Information:

Based on the provided information, there is no explicit promotional content available. Pet hospitals often engage in promotions to attract new clients and inform existing ones about specific services or offers. These could include introductory discounts for new patients, seasonal specials on vaccinations or dental cleanings, or awareness campaigns for specific health issues. Without such information, it is not possible to comment on any current promotions at Highland Animal Hospital.

Summary and Considerations for Local Users:

Highland Animal Hospital: Bostic Berry DVM operates as a pet hospital in Fayetteville, North Carolina, offering veterinary care under the direction of Bostic Berry DVM. The services likely encompass a range of medical, diagnostic, and potentially grooming services. Customer experiences appear to be varied. One customer reported a positive interaction, highlighting a pet's comfort with the staff. However, another customer detailed a series of negative experiences, including concerns about diagnostic thoroughness, communication issues regarding appointment follow-ups and service completion, and unprofessional handling of administrative matters.

For local users in Fayetteville seeking veterinary care at Highland Animal Hospital, it would be prudent to consider these differing experiences. It may be beneficial to inquire specifically about the hospital's protocols for examinations, communication, and administrative processes. Visiting the facility to assess the environment and interact with the staff firsthand could also provide valuable insights. Additionally, seeking more recent reviews or testimonials from other pet owners in the community might offer a broader perspective on the quality of care and service provided by Highland Animal Hospital.

Choosing a pet hospital is a significant decision, and it is recommended that pet owners weigh all available information to ensure they find a provider that meets their pet's health needs and their own expectations for professional and compassionate service. While Highland Animal Hospital has seemingly provided positive experiences for some, the concerns raised in at least one review warrant careful consideration by prospective clients.

My puppy had a real serious skin infection that apparently had left a big open wound on the bottom of his neck. When I called I found out they were accepting walk-ins and as soon as I got him there to be checked they were ready for him within minutes. Lokyy my XL American Bully had to be sedated in order for the area around his neck to be cleaned and they did their job flawlessly. The Veterinary Doctor called to give updates as to the problem and the medication they would be prescribing him helping me to relax alot. I was absolutely worried the bill would be astronomically high, my worries were wrong especially for everything they did to make sure my boy was taken care of. Absolutely amazing staff that do an great job and don't charge an arm and a leg to keep our 4 legged friends healthy. I truly am thankful for you all there at Highland Animal Hospital!
