The owner of this establishment is extremely difficult and there is zero customer service. I would not trust my dog to them again given their complete failure to provide any customer service and their refusal to release my dog to me when their credit card machine was down and they could not accept payment. I had the worst experience at this establishment. We left our pet Chloe there for 10 days and made a large cash deposit (over $200 as they do not take credit cards for new customers). Prior to picking her up we asked about payment as we had assumed cash was acceptable - we were told it was not but that they would take credit cards. We arrived to pick up the dog with a credit card from our home one hour away only to discover that their credit card machine was down and they refused to release the dog to us. The owner was away and we ended up getting stuck there over 3 hours - we Did not have a debit card on us and they insisted the post office would sell us a money order with a credit card which was incorrect. They refused to take a card number and charge us when their machine was working. The worst experience. Unprofessional. Stay away.

Hewlett Animal Hospital & Pet Resort Introduce
Welcome to the local introduction of Hewlett Animal Hospital & Pet Resort, located at 1225 Broadway, Hewlett, NY 11557, USA. Operating under the platform category of Pet Hospital, this establishment offers a dual function, providing veterinary care services alongside pet resort facilities. This combination aims to cater to the comprehensive needs of pet owners in Hewlett and the surrounding areas, offering both medical care and boarding options. You can reach them at their phone number: (516) 295-4447 or mobile phone: +1 516-295-4447.
As a facility that combines a pet hospital and a pet resort, the environment at Hewlett Animal Hospital & Pet Resort likely encompasses different areas designed for each function. The veterinary hospital section would typically include examination rooms for consultations and treatments, potentially surgical suites for medical procedures, and possibly diagnostic imaging areas. Maintaining a clean and sterile environment is paramount in a veterinary hospital to ensure the health and safety of the animals. The pet resort section would likely feature boarding areas for dogs and cats, potentially with different types of accommodations such as kennels, suites, or condos, depending on the size and needs of the animals. A comfortable and secure environment is crucial for a pet resort to ensure the well-being and comfort of boarding animals. The positive review mentioning "butler level service" suggests that at least some areas of the pet resort aim for a high standard of care and comfort for the animals.
The services offered at Hewlett Animal Hospital & Pet Resort are likely diverse, reflecting its dual nature. Under the 'Pet Hospital' category, they would provide a range of veterinary care services. These typically include routine check-ups and vaccinations to maintain your pet's health. Diagnostic services, such as laboratory testing and imaging, would be available to identify and assess medical conditions. Surgical services, encompassing both routine and more complex procedures, are also a standard offering. Additionally, they would provide medical treatment for illnesses and injuries, including medication, wound care, and other necessary therapies. The negative reviews, however, raise concerns about payment policies and customer service during service provision. On the 'Pet Resort' side, they offer pet boarding services for both dogs and cats. This would include providing accommodation, feeding, exercise, and general care for pets while their owners are away. The positive review mentions grooming services being provided to a cat during its stay, suggesting that grooming may be an additional service offered within the pet resort.
Features of Hewlett Animal Hospital & Pet Resort appear to be a mix of potential strengths and areas of concern based on the available reviews. A notable potential feature is the combination of veterinary and boarding services in one location, offering convenience for pet owners who may need both types of services. The positive review highlights "butler level service" provided by specific staff members (Fern and Joseph) within the pet resort, suggesting a high level of personalized care and attention to the boarding animals. This reviewer also mentioned the pet being groomed and returning home in a good mood, indicating a focus on the comfort and well-being of boarded pets. However, the negative reviews point to significant issues with customer service, particularly regarding payment policies and the handling of situations when payment cannot be processed immediately. The alleged refusal to release a pet due to credit card machine issues and the perceived lack of professionalism are serious concerns raised by multiple customers.
Given the starkly contrasting customer experiences, formulating promotional information requires careful consideration. While the positive review could be used to highlight the quality of care within the pet resort, particularly the "butler level service" and grooming, the serious allegations in the negative reviews cannot be ignored. Any promotional messaging would need to address the concerns raised about customer service and payment policies to rebuild trust. Potential promotional angles could focus on the convenience of having both veterinary and boarding services at one location, the personalized care provided by specific staff members within the pet resort, and perhaps new initiatives aimed at improving customer service and payment flexibility. Transparency in payment policies and clear communication with clients regarding procedures and expectations would be crucial in any promotional efforts.
For local users in Hewlett, NY, Hewlett Animal Hospital & Pet Resort presents a mixed picture. The convenience of having both veterinary care and pet boarding services in one facility could be appealing. The positive feedback regarding the care provided to a cat during its boarding stay, including grooming and attentive service from specific staff members, suggests a potentially high standard of care within the pet resort. However, the serious negative reviews detailing significant issues with customer service, particularly concerning payment and the release of a pet, should give potential customers pause. It is strongly recommended that local users considering this facility for either veterinary care or boarding services conduct thorough due diligence. This could include contacting the facility directly to inquire about their policies, especially regarding payment, and seeking clarification on their customer service protocols. Visiting the facility in person to assess the environment and interact with staff might also provide valuable insights. It would be prudent to weigh the positive experience of one reviewer against the significant negative experiences reported by others when making a decision about entrusting your pet to Hewlett Animal Hospital & Pet Resort.
In conclusion, Hewlett Animal Hospital & Pet Resort in Hewlett, NY, offers a combination of veterinary and pet boarding services. While one customer reported excellent care within the pet resort, praising specific staff members and the services provided, multiple other reviews raise serious concerns about the establishment's customer service, particularly regarding payment policies and professionalism. Local users should carefully consider these contrasting experiences and conduct thorough research before entrusting their pets to this facility.

Oct 31, 2024 · Toby MoskovitzI was very happy at the butler level service Fern and Joseph at Hewlett provided for my cat Baxter. I adopted him from the Animal Care Center on 110 St last January so I was worried he would feel abandoned again when I went on safari to Botswana /South Africa for 2 weeks. But Hewlett Pet Resort took really good care of him and provided lots of TLCare, groomed him so he was in really good mood when I came to pick him up. Once home he immediately jumped up on window sill and looked out window like usual. My only quibble is that I had sent the ACC vaccinations he received so I don't understand why he was vaccinated for rabies and distemper again.
Jun 20, 2023 · Alexandra GeorgeTook our leopard gecko in today for her first visit. It was a very positive experience from the moment we called for an appointment. Dr. Zipkin took time to thoroughly explain our pet's diagnosis and treatment with us. You know that he truly loves his calling.
Dec 24, 2023 · Ray G.This place is a nightmare. Everything they tell you is a lie. They tell you one price and then they overcharge you. My dog stayed here for 5 days and when I picked her up no one was there. No one is ever there over night. Staff leaves around 5pm and they cage the animals until the next morning. My dog was atleast 7lbs down when I retrieved her. She look traumatized!!! If you love your furry ones stay away from this place please!!! They should be reported on more than a review! This place needs to be shut down!!!
Jul 09, 2024 · L EdwardsI recently spent a week away with my family. We hated leaving our beloved English Bulldogs behind. We were put at ease from the moment we met the capable staff here. The rooms were great and everyone is courteous and friendly. We checked in via email and received prompt replies. I would recommend the “ resort” to anyone that loves their pet. Our bulldogs were returned freshly washed, nails clipped, happy and healthy. We will definitely be using this service again for our next trip. Worth every penny!
