I am deeply disappointed with my experience at Hershey Veterinary Hospital. During my visit, the veterinarian verbally diagnosed my cat with constipation after pointing it out on his X-ray and provided me with instructions for monitoring and potential follow-up treatment. However, when I later called to request that this diagnosis be included in his medical records for accuracy and insurance purposes, they refused and were passive-aggressive in their response. Accurate medical records are essential for continuity of care and insurance claims, and their refusal to document what they verbally confirmed undermines trust in their professionalism. I paid over $800 for X-rays and exams just to be told my cat has constipation—which they WON’T even give me as a written diagnosis??? I don’t blame them for the cost, even though it was a lot, because I verbally agreed to the charges before they performed anything. However, I do blame them for refusing to provide an accurate written diagnosis even after all this money was spent. I have to give it to them that the vet was welcoming and friendly during the appointment itself, but that does NOT help when they fail to provide me with written proof of his diagnosis. I truly wish they would address their issues with documentation and communication, as it is a beautiful, welcoming clinic that I hoped I could confidently return to for my pet’s checkups or any future concerns :((

Jan 09, 2025 · MWe’ve been taking our dogs there since we moved from NJ about 4 years ago. Dr. Kevin and his staff are so welcoming and friendly. They are extremely knowledgeable and explain everything to you. My dogs hate getting their nails trimmed and Dr. Kevin’s is the only place they are quick and leave my boys with no trauma haha. Very thankful to have them! Just went in this morning for updated vaccines and nail trimmings which usually causes the pups (and me) anxiety, but as always we were treated so kindly and they are so gentle. Overall, always a great experience!!!
Mar 24, 2025 · hannah melone dipietroGot me in last minute for an issue that popped up with my 11 year old kitty. They were so fantastic! The vet was so detailed with his questions and so kind. I would absolutely recommend them!
Oct 29, 2024 · Kalynn AlexanderI do not recommend for hamsters (and maybe other small animals). I paid $75 each for both of my hamsters to do a checkup. During the checkup the vet 1. never mentioned that my dwarf hamster was overweight (this is dangerous as they are prone to diabetes) 2. Did not check his nails 3. Recommended I change my hamster's diet (which I've researched a lot) to a subpar food brand. I don't expect them to know everything about every animal, but I would at least expect a thorough checkup and not pushing possibly negative information. He barely touched my dwarf hamster at all. I do not think they have separate staff specializing in small animals so I definitely absolutely would not go here if you have any rodents/smaller animals. I had to go back because they missed my hamster's very long nails. If I wasn't checking my hamster myself, he could've been living very painfully and getting more overweight (because he cannot run well with his nails). They NEVER mentioned a charge on the phone and I assumed it was free because they made a mistake on their end. It was $22. They said if his nails were clipped during the checkup, it would be free, but they missed it so I have to pay to return (already a negative experience). I cannot imagine what the checkup was for! $150/15 minutes total of just looking at my hamsters! Why do they offer services for small animals when they're not experts in care? Unsure! Never coming back ❤️
Sep 06, 2024 · Cindy CI moved to the area a few months ago and am so thankful to have found Hershey Veterinarian Hospital to transfer care for my pooches; especially my dog with Addison’s Disease. The doctor took the time to get to know Pinots history and to research the medication and to try to understand the rationale of her former providers. Pinot is now on a consistent and lower dosage of meds and doing much better. Also want to add an update- I noticed a few reviews about the cost of care. I am not sure where folks are going that they are finding cheaper care but I had 3 different vets, due to moving and then having a pooch with a complications and a vet that moved. Dr. Kevin is extremely reasonable in his prices and spends more time with my pets than any previous doctor has. In addition, there have been times when I’ve come in with pets and when I asked to pay I was told there was no charge. That has never happened anywhere else. Dr. Kevin is the best and his staff also genuinely care about the animals in their care. Highly recommend!
