Welcome to Henderson Equine Clinic
Henderson Equine Clinic, located at 4229 Fowlerville Rd, Avon, NY 14414, USA, operates as a specialized "Pet Hospital" primarily focusing on equine and small ruminant veterinary care. For direct contact and scheduling appointments, the clinic can be reached at (585) 226-5560. Established in 2000 by Dr. Bonny Henderson and her husband Don, the clinic has expanded into a three-doctor practice, dedicated to serving the Genesee Valley Horse Community and, since 2013, has also extended its services to small ruminants.
The environment at Henderson Equine Clinic is specifically designed to cater to the unique needs of horses and small ruminants. This means that while it functions as a "Pet Hospital," its facilities are adapted for larger animals. The clinic offers both in-clinic services and ambulatory (on-farm) services, providing flexibility and convenience for livestock owners. The in-clinic environment would include spacious examination areas capable of accommodating horses, with appropriate restraint systems for safe examinations and procedures. For more intensive care, the clinic features three heated stalls equipped with Thorobed stall mattresses and open-air stall fronts, allowing for complete monitoring of patients and increased airflow. This setup is ideal for medical boarding, lay-ups, rehabilitation, and intensive support for conditions requiring frequent attention, such as complicated wounds, medically manageable colics, or non-healing eye ulcers. Beyond the clinical areas, the environment likely includes specialized spaces for diagnostic imaging and advanced therapies. The clinic aims to be "farmer friendly," suggesting an understanding of agricultural operations and practical solutions for animal health within a farm setting. This specialized environment ensures that horses and small ruminants receive care tailored to their physiology and needs, whether at the clinic or on their home farm.
The services offered by Henderson Equine Clinic are extensive and highly specialized for equine and small ruminant health. For horses, these include a full range of routine veterinary care, such as wellness exams, vaccinations, and parasite management. Diagnostic capabilities are robust, utilizing portable digital radiography (X-rays), ultrasonography for soft tissue imaging and reproductive services, portable airway endoscopy for upper airway imaging, video gastroscopy, and in-house laboratory testing for quick results. Advanced diagnostics like Thermography are also available. The clinic offers comprehensive lameness evaluations and treatments, sports medicine, and rehabilitation services, including Class IV K-Laser Therapy, Kinesiology taping, and in-clinic Theraplate treatments, which utilize impact-free vibration for increased circulation, muscle relaxation, and isotonic exercise. Reproductive services are a significant part of their offerings, including breeding management, artificial insemination, and neonatal care. Furthermore, Dr. Bonny Henderson is certified in veterinary chiropractic therapy and veterinary acupuncture, offering these alternative modalities for managing acute and chronic conditions and improving performance in horses. For small ruminants (sheep, goats, alpacas, llamas), services include flock/herd health evaluations, dehorning/disbudding, and general preventative and medical care. The customer review highlighting Dr. Henderson's role in saving a cat's life is interesting, as the clinic primarily focuses on equines and small ruminants, suggesting that while their main expertise is in large animals, they may also occasionally provide critical care or have broad veterinary knowledge that extends to other species, or perhaps Dr. Henderson has broader prior experience.
Key features of Henderson Equine Clinic, as described by both the clinic and client reviews, emphasize their specialized expertise, compassionate approach, and client-centric service. The clinic's commitment to "practicing the highest quality medicine and surgery with compassion and an emphasis on client education" is a core tenet. The phrase "farmer friendly" underscores their practical approach and willingness to collaborate with owners, ensuring thorough and easy-to-work-with interactions. The first review specifically praises their quick response for a horse emergency, thoroughness, and being "top notch" with all the "little things." The clinic's long history of serving the Genesee Valley Horse Community since 2000 establishes them as a trusted and experienced provider. Dr. Bonny Henderson's dual certifications in veterinary chiropractic therapy and veterinary acupuncture highlight their commitment to offering a wide variety of advanced treatment modalities. The clinic's ability to provide both in-clinic and on-farm services demonstrates flexibility and accessibility, which is crucial for large animal care. The positive review about saving a cat's life, despite the clinic's equine focus, speaks to the profound impact and versatility of Dr. Henderson's medical expertise and compassion. This personal touch and dedication to individual animal owners are consistently emphasized as key features, ensuring pets are treated "as we would our own."
Promotional information for Henderson Equine Clinic would undoubtedly focus on its specialized expertise in equine and small ruminant medicine, highlighting their comprehensive range of services from routine preventative care to advanced diagnostics, surgery, and rehabilitation. They would emphasize their "farmer friendly" approach and the convenience of both in-clinic and ambulatory services. Their long-standing presence in the Genesee Valley and their commitment to client education would be key promotional points. The certifications in chiropractic therapy and acupuncture would be highlighted as unique, value-added features. Testimonials praising their responsiveness, thoroughness, and the compassionate care provided, like the horse owner's positive experience and the dramatic rescue of "Jasper" the cat, would be powerful marketing tools to build trust and attract new clients. They might also promote their state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment and advanced therapeutic modalities like K-Laser and Theraplate. Given their focus, promotions might appear in agricultural publications, equine magazines, or at local farm and equestrian events. Online platforms would showcase their services, highlight their experienced veterinary team, and offer educational resources for horse and small ruminant owners. Special offers for new farm calls, discounted first-time wellness exams for new equine patients, or packages for specific services like reproductive management could also be part of their promotional strategy, aiming to solidify their position as the premier veterinary partner for horse and small ruminant owners in the region.

Nov 01, 2024 · Tanya SiddleDr. Henderson literally helped save my cat Jasper from the brink of death. At the time she also had hip pain that was causing her to lick all the fur off her hind quarter, Dr. Henderson put an end to that. I'm so grateful to her for saving Jasper and keeping her in shape and in my life as she is very dear to me. Pictured is Jasper and my younger (and very much larger) cat Argyle having a nap together. Thank you!!
Jul 09, 2023 · Lee M.Dr. Henderson has been doing chiropractic adjustments on my dog that had been limping. We have been going to her for treatment for several months. He is steadily improving. His gait is markedly improved after an adjustment.
Oct 23, 2023 · Kathy GalusThis team is incredible. When my mare has a gas colic, Dr. Henderson gave me practical advice over the phone before we ultimately came in at 11pm at night. Prices are fair, and they make sure you understand all of your options. Dr. Powell came.put the next day and broke the news that her intestines had twisted. She said our options were surgery, or try to get it back ourselves. She coached me through long hours of doing everything I could and ultimately got it back in place! They saved her life. The days after, Dr. Powell remained in close contact to ensure a successful recovery. I will never be able to say thank you enough
Jan 14, 2023 · Widger FarmsHauled my pony up from two hours away. They were super great about getting him scheduled in to make it worth the trip and time there. Bonnie Henderson was very friendly and made the visit comforting and helped make a plan for his future and needs. I would recommend them for all equine needs in the future! Still the best!
