As a first-time pet parent, I was pretty anxious after discovering my puppy had worms. I researched nearby vets with good reviews and found Heights Veterinary Associates, which is super close to me. I called them in the morning, and they were able to see my puppy that same day! From the moment we arrived, the experience was incredible. My puppy was greeted with love and plenty of pets! Addy at the front desk was so warm, efficient, and clearly a huge animal lover (see the picture of my happy pup with her goodies!). Dr. Capelli came over to examine my puppy and was incredibly thorough. She explained everything in detail, ensuring I understood the best steps to keep my puppy healthy. Her warmth and expertise brought me so much comfort, and she answered all my questions patiently. My puppy felt totally at ease with her, which says a lot! I'm so grateful to have found such a caring, clean, and safe place for my pup. If you’re looking for a vet who genuinely cares, I highly recommend Heights Veterinary Associates. They even sent us home with an amazing puppy starter bag filled with pamphlets, teething toys, and other little goodies!

Welcome to Heights Veterinary Associates
Welcome to the introduction of Heights Veterinary Associates, a 'Pet Hospital' located at 3402 John F. Kennedy Blvd, Jersey City, NJ 07307, USA. As a member of the 'Pet Hospital' platform category, Heights Veterinary Associates aims to provide veterinary care for the pets of Jersey City and the surrounding areas. You can contact them at (201) 420-4424 or via mobile at +1 201-420-4424 to inquire about their services or to schedule an appointment for your animal companion.
Based on the provided customer reviews, Heights Veterinary Associates appears to offer a generally positive experience for new pet owners, characterized by a welcoming atmosphere and thorough care. However, one longer-term client shared a more critical perspective regarding policy enforcement and communication.
One first-time pet parent, who was anxious about their puppy having worms, found Heights Veterinary Associates through positive online reviews and its convenient location. They were able to secure a same-day appointment, which was a significant positive. Upon arrival, the experience was described as "incredible," with the puppy being greeted warmly. Addy at the front desk was noted for being warm, efficient, and clearly an animal lover. Dr. Capelli, who examined the puppy, was praised for being incredibly thorough, explaining everything in detail to ensure the owner understood how to keep their puppy healthy. Her warmth and expertise were comforting, and she patiently answered all questions. The puppy reportedly felt at ease with Dr. Capelli. This reviewer was grateful to have found a "caring, clean, and safe place" and highly recommended Heights Veterinary Associates, mentioning they even received a puppy starter bag with useful items.
In contrast, a customer who had been bringing their dog to the clinic for over a year expressed deep disappointment with a recent experience. While they appreciated the care from some staff, particularly the veterinary technicians like Jennifer, they felt that the office enforced policies rigidly and impersonally, prioritizing convenience over their schedule and their dog’s well-being. Communication regarding concerns was primarily through email, even after a confusing phone call. When the customer expressed frustration, they were suggested to find another vet, which was upsetting. This client also felt that their decision to get a rabies shot elsewhere at a lower cost was held against them. While understanding the need for clinic policies, they believed good veterinary care should involve collaboration and understanding, not ultimatums. They hoped the clinic would take this feedback seriously and adopt a more patient-centered approach.
From these reviews, we can gather insights into the environment and features of Heights Veterinary Associates. The first review suggests a clean and safe environment where pets are greeted with affection. The presence of a warm and efficient front desk staff member like Addy contributes to a positive initial impression. The thoroughness and warmth of veterinarians like Dr. Capelli are also highlighted, indicating a caring and expert approach to pet health. The provision of a puppy starter bag suggests a thoughtful and welcoming approach to new pet owners.
However, the second review points to potential issues with policy flexibility and communication with established clients. The emphasis on email communication over direct conversation in addressing concerns, and the suggestion to find another vet when a client expressed frustration, might indicate a less flexible or impersonal approach in certain situations. The perceived negative reaction to a client choosing a lower-cost option for a specific service elsewhere also suggests a potential area for improvement in client relations.
Regarding services, based on the first review, Heights Veterinary Associates offers same-day appointments, thorough examinations, vaccinations (implied through the discussion of puppy health), and likely dispenses medications for conditions like worms. The mention of an annual visit in the second review suggests they also provide routine check-ups. As a 'Pet Hospital', it is reasonable to assume they offer a broader range of services, including diagnostics, treatment for illnesses and injuries, and possibly surgical procedures. The puppy starter bag indicates they may also provide some pet-related goods or samples.
No specific promotional information was mentioned in the provided reviews. Local users would need to contact Heights Veterinary Associates directly to inquire about any current promotions or special offers for their services.
In conclusion, Heights Veterinary Associates in Jersey City, NJ, as a 'Pet Hospital', appears to be a welcoming and caring place, particularly for new pet owners, with thorough veterinarians and a warm front desk staff. However, there is feedback suggesting that policy enforcement and communication with established clients could be improved to be more patient-centered. For local users, especially first-time pet parents, the positive experiences shared by one reviewer are encouraging. However, it might be beneficial for all potential clients to have open communication with the clinic regarding policies and any concerns to ensure a comfortable and collaborative veterinary care experience. We recommend contacting Heights Veterinary Associates at (201) 420-4424 to discuss your pet's needs and their approach to client care.

Oct 25, 2024 · Stacey KatsnelsonI’ve been bringing my dog to this clinic for over a year, and while I appreciated the care provided by some of the staff—especially the veterinary technicians—my recent experience left me deeply disappointed. The office enforced policies in a way that felt rigid and impersonal, prioritizing their convenience over my schedule and my dog’s well-being. Instead of having a real conversation with me about my concerns, everything was handled through email, even after a confusing phone call with a representative. When I expressed frustration, rather than trying to work with me, they suggested I find another vet. It was upsetting to feel like my loyalty as a client—and more importantly, my dog’s care—was being dismissed so easily. Additionally, I couldn’t help but feel that my decision to get my dog’s rabies shot elsewhere at a lower cost was held against me. While I understand that every clinic has policies, I believe good veterinary care should be based on collaboration and understanding, not ultimatums. I’m grateful to the techs especially Jennifer who showed kindness and professionalism throughout our time here, but unfortunately, the way the situation was handled made it clear that this was no longer the right place for us. I hope the clinic takes feedback like this seriously and considers a more patient-centered approach moving forward.
Feb 23, 2025 · Lauren CortinasI have a feisty little schnauzer and Heights Veterinary doctors and staff are always so patient and treat him so well. I know my little buddy is in good hands from the moment they take him in, the doctors & staff always take their time explaining everything to me so each visit Luigi gets what he needs and i know what course of care is upcoming as well. Appointments are punctual, the app is fantastic …i’m so happy to have found their offices for my dog’s care.
Nov 12, 2023 · Karina SotoLisa took such great care of our kittens. By the way she treats our babies we can tell how much she cares and how wonderful she is at what she does. The rest of the staff is just as amazing and sweet! We’ve been coming here for over 8 years as they’ve tended to our frenchie since he was little. We love coming here. Thank you to everyone who has helped us, we appreciate you more than words could explain ❤️
Jun 17, 2023 · Brendan CookFirst time pet mama here and heights veterinary associates made my little girl feel so loved. My pup is a very overprotected dog, and I was a little skeptical at first on her behavior, but from the moment we walked in, they treated my pup with so much love and affection, which for me warmed my heart. The staff here is outstanding. My vet doctor was Lisa, and she treated Hershey so well. She went by her comfort, and Hershey warmed up to her in less than two seconds. They really care for your fur babies . I highly recommend heights veterinary associates Thank you, guys, for everything (ps. Hershey loves her banana peanut butter treats, lol).
