ChiChi is my 15 year old cat. He has never been boarded before, but now needs medication for a hyperactive thyroid. I have been using Healing Paws for over a year, so decided to board him there. As a nervous cat-mom, I was really worried how he would deal with being in a cage for a week. They showed me where he would be kept. It was away from the noise of the rest of animals in the clinic. The vet tech that was going to take care of him listened to all my reservations and ChiChi’s idiosyncrasies. I even called while I was as on vacation and they told me how he was doing. All this made me feel so much better. When I came to pick him up, they let me know (that even though he hid under his bed most of the time which was no surprise to me) he did really well and took his meds well. My neighbors could never have done that! He came home and settled in like he was never gone. (Although I have been getting lots of head butts and kisses). I have some trips I would like to take in the future, and now I feel I can go without guilt. Thanks to all at Healing Paws, with a special shout out to the amazing vet tech who took care of him!

Healing Paws Veterinary Hospital Introduce
Welcome to Healing Paws Veterinary Hospital, a "Pet Hospital" located at 1705 US-31 N, Clanton, AL 35045, USA. You can reach them at (205) 755-7775 or their mobile number +1 205-755-7775. Based on recent customer feedback, Healing Paws Veterinary Hospital offers pet boarding services, including medication administration, as well as vaccination appointments. However, it's important to consider both positive and negative experiences shared by pet owners to gain a comprehensive understanding of the clinic.
One detailed positive review highlights the experience of boarding a 15-year-old cat named ChiChi who required medication for a hyperactive thyroid. The cat's owner, a self-described "nervous cat-mom," expressed initial worries about leaving ChiChi in a cage for a week, especially as he had never been boarded before. The staff at Healing Paws Veterinary Hospital took the time to address these concerns. They showed the owner the boarding area, which was situated away from the general noise of the clinic, indicating an effort to provide a calmer environment for boarded animals. The veterinary technician who would be caring for ChiChi listened attentively to the owner's reservations and learned about the cat's specific needs and quirks. The owner even called during their vacation and received updates on ChiChi's well-being, which provided significant reassurance.
Upon picking up ChiChi, the owner was informed that he had done well and consistently took his medication, even though he mostly stayed hidden under his bed, a behavior not surprising to the owner. The positive outcome of this first-time boarding experience, especially the successful medication administration, left the owner feeling confident about boarding ChiChi at Healing Paws in the future, allowing them to travel without guilt. The review concludes with gratitude towards the entire staff and a special mention for the "amazing vet tech" who cared for ChiChi. This positive account suggests that Healing Paws Veterinary Hospital provides a caring and attentive boarding service, particularly for pets with specific needs like medication.
In contrast, another review presents a less favorable experience. This customer reported waiting for 55 minutes for a scheduled puppy shot appointment and still not being seen. They noted that the clinic did not appear busy, with staff seemingly engaged in "playing and socializing" rather than attending to patients. Based on this experience, the reviewer stated they would "not recommend wasting your time," indicating potential issues with appointment timeliness and clinic efficiency on the day of their visit.
Considering these contrasting experiences, the environment at Healing Paws Veterinary Hospital likely includes separate areas for boarding and for outpatient services like vaccinations and examinations. The boarding area, as described by the satisfied cat owner, is located away from the noise of the main clinic, suggesting a quieter and more comfortable setting for animals staying overnight or for extended periods. This indicates an awareness of the potential stress that boarding can cause and an effort to mitigate it.
The services offered at Healing Paws Veterinary Hospital, based on the reviews, include:
- Pet Boarding: Providing temporary housing and care for pets, including administering medications as needed. The positive review highlights their ability to handle cats with specific medical requirements and their communication with owners during the boarding period.
- Vaccinations: Offering scheduled appointments for pet vaccinations, such as puppy shots. However, the negative review raises concerns about potential wait times for these appointments.
- General Veterinary Care: While not explicitly detailed in the reviews, it is implied that as a "Veterinary Hospital," they offer a range of general medical services for pets. This would typically include routine check-ups, diagnosis and treatment of illnesses, and other aspects of pet health management.
- Medication Administration: The successful boarding of a cat requiring thyroid medication indicates their capability to administer prescribed drugs to boarded animals.
Features of Healing Paws Veterinary Hospital, as suggested by the customer experiences, include:
- Caring and Attentive Staff (in some areas): The positive boarding review emphasizes the kindness and attentiveness of the veterinary technician and the overall staff in addressing the owner's concerns and caring for the boarded cat.
- Separate Boarding Area: The clinic has a boarding section located away from the noise of the main clinic, potentially creating a more peaceful environment for boarded pets.
- Communication with Owners: They are willing to provide updates to owners about their boarded pets, offering reassurance while they are away.
- Potential for Long Wait Times: The negative review indicates a possibility of significant wait times for scheduled appointments, even when the clinic does not appear busy. This suggests potential inconsistencies in appointment scheduling or patient flow management.

In conclusion, Healing Paws Veterinary Hospital in Clanton, Alabama, offers pet boarding services with the ability to administer medications and provides vaccination appointments. While one customer had a very positive experience with their cat's boarding, highlighting the caring and communicative staff and the quiet boarding environment, another customer reported a significant and unsatisfactory wait time for a scheduled vaccination.
