I highly recommend avoiding this place. The owners are more focused on making money than on your pet's well-being. I initially ignored some red flags, but after waiting over an hour for my consultation (even though I was the last appointment of the day and they told me to be on time), I started to see the problems. The owner's wife essentially pressured us into buying a package, and when I asked if we could start with just one session to see how my dog responded, she insisted it would be hard to get appointments and made us feel like we had no choice but to commit. Dr. Archer claimed our dog would never be the same but would improve, recommending 16 sessions (two per week for two months). We opted for 8 sessions, as 16 seemed excessive. After just five sessions, my dog was doing great—better than before. Her surgeon confirmed that she no longer needed physical therapy and could return to normal activities. When I asked for a refund for the three unused sessions (each costing over $100), I was told I would be reimbursed. However, it took over three weeks for Dr. Archer's wife to finally respond through her receptionist, only to say they wouldn’t issue a refund. In the end, they don’t care about your pet's health—they only care about your money. The only good thing that came out of this experience was meeting Eileen, who was amazing. She treated our dog like her own, and if you do decide to go here, I highly recommend ONLY booking with her. She’s extremely knowledgeable, punctual, compassionate, and truly cares about your pet!

Welcome to Healing Hands 4 Paws
This introduction provides an overview of Healing Hands 4 Paws, a facility categorized as a Pet Hospital, located at 6333 Jericho Tpke, Commack, NY 11725, USA. While this veterinary care provider is based in the United States, this description aims to inform local users in Singapore about the types of services, environment, and customer experiences that might be associated with a pet hospital specializing in rehabilitation and post-surgical care. This can help you identify similar services and what to look for in your local area.
Healing Hands 4 Paws can be contacted by phone at (631) 458-0093 or via their mobile number, +1 631-458-0093. Please note that this contact information is for the Commack, New York location. For pet hospital services in Singapore, you would need to search for local veterinary clinics, particularly those offering rehabilitation or physical therapy for animals.
The available customer reviews for Healing Hands 4 Paws offer contrasting viewpoints. One reviewer strongly recommends avoiding the facility, expressing concerns that the owners prioritize profit over the pet's well-being. This individual recounts a long wait for a consultation, pressure to purchase a package of sessions, and a disagreement regarding a refund for unused sessions after their dog recovered sooner than initially predicted. They do, however, specifically praise Eileen, one of the staff members, for her knowledge, punctuality, compassion, and genuine care for animals, recommending booking only with her if one chooses to visit this hospital.
In contrast, another reviewer highly recommends Healing Hands 4 Paws, sharing a positive experience after their dog tore an ACL. They felt confident in Dr. Archer's care compared to other surgeons consulted. This review praises the warmth of the staff, the clinic's space, and the doctors throughout the process, including a full rehabilitation program that contributed to their dog's complete recovery. They express pleasure in meeting the team and are delighted with their dogs' return to full health and activity.
Considering these differing accounts, it is important to evaluate the potential environment, services, and features of Healing Hands 4 Paws based on these experiences:
Environment: One positive review mentions "the space" in a favorable light, suggesting a welcoming or well-equipped facility. However, the negative review focuses more on the interaction with staff and perceived business practices rather than the physical environment. A pet hospital specializing in rehabilitation would likely have dedicated areas for therapy, potentially including equipment for exercises, hydrotherapy, or other modalities. Without more specific details, we can infer that the environment is functional for providing veterinary care and rehabilitation services, with varying perceptions of its overall atmosphere.
Services: Based on the reviews, Healing Hands 4 Paws offers the following services:
- Surgical consultation and referral (as indicated by the ACL tear case).
- Post-surgical rehabilitation, including physical therapy.
- Potentially other general veterinary services (though not explicitly detailed).
The emphasis in the reviews is clearly on rehabilitation following injury or surgery, suggesting this might be a primary focus of the practice.
Features: Key features highlighted in the feedback include:
- Knowledgeable Staff: Eileen is specifically praised for her expertise and care. Dr. Archer is also trusted by one reviewer for surgical and rehabilitation guidance.
- Focus on Rehabilitation: The recovery from an ACL tear with a full rehabilitation program is a significant feature mentioned positively.
- Potential Pressure for Packages: One negative review mentions pressure to buy a package of therapy sessions.
- Variable Customer Service: Experiences with the owners or administrative aspects seem to differ significantly.
Promotional Information: The positive review from the pet owner whose dog recovered fully after ACL surgery and rehabilitation serves as a strong promotional endorsement for their services, particularly in orthopedic recovery. The recommendation to book only with Eileen from the negative review also indirectly promotes her skills. Conversely, the negative review about perceived profit-driven motives and issues with refunds acts as a cautionary note.
For local users in Singapore seeking similar pet rehabilitation services, it would be beneficial to look for veterinary clinics that offer physical therapy, hydrotherapy, or other rehabilitation programs. When researching, consider the qualifications of the therapists, the types of equipment and facilities available, and reviews specifically mentioning the rehabilitation services and the staff involved. Transparency regarding treatment plans and costs, as well as clear policies on refunds for unused services, are also important factors to consider.
In summary, Healing Hands 4 Paws in Commack, NY, appears to specialize in pet rehabilitation, with positive outcomes reported in cases like ACL recovery. However, there are also concerns raised about business practices and pressure to commit to extensive treatment packages. The quality of care provided by individual staff members, such as Eileen, seems to be a highlight for some. When considering a Pet Hospital, especially one offering specialized services like rehabilitation, it is wise to seek a balanced view from multiple sources and prioritize clear communication and trust with the veterinary team.

Mar 17, 2025 · Gabrielle KassmanWe met Dr. Archer after one of my dogs tore her ACL - and as any pet parent knows, this is the worst feeling in the world. We saw multiple surgeons & the moment we met Dr. Archer, we knew who we wanted to take care of our pups! The warmth of the staff, the space, and the doctors was felt through the entire process. We went with the surgery & a full rehabilitation which taught us a lot as well as contributed to a wonderful full recovery. It was such a pleasure to meet them, and our pups are now as happy & healthy as ever; playing, hiking, and living their best life! Highly, highly recommend them!
Feb 08, 2024 · Kevin NegliaI wish I could give more than 5 stars! As a first time dog owner, you could imagine how distraught I was when learned that my 1 year old pup needed an FHO. We decided to do our post operative surgery at healing hands and we couldn’t have been happier. The team here is really top notch. They’re knowledgeable, accommodating and empathetic. Dr. Archer is truly a magician. He knows all the tricks to get your dog moving how they should be. As part of the rehab process you can expect to have at an home exercise program. Dr.Archer really took the time to customize the program to make sure that it was working for both me and my pup. He always took the time to answer my 101 questions and never made me feel rushed or crazy. Long story short, if your furry friend is in need of any rehabilitation, look no further than the healing hands for paws!
Apr 01, 2024 · Joe CalaDr. ARCHER AND TEAM ARE THE BEST. Great with the dogs and owners. Dr. Archer is very knowledgeable and kind to my Buddy. Buddy has made vast improvements since he began therapy with Dr. Archer. I highly recommend this therapy.
Feb 01, 2025 · Elizabeth FMy dog walks on all 4 legs again!! My little 12lb schnoodle jumped off a ledge and tore her acl- clc in dogs. Once she had the injury she never used that the leg again. The injury required surgery and post-surgery she didn’t use her leg. I felt so defeated and so sad for her. We were referred to this practice and it was life changing! Laser therapy, exercises, water therapy on a treadmill, etc., I have to tell you, I had my doubts and now she is walking on all 4 legs. This practice was worth every penny and every visit! Please, do not give up hope- our dogs can make it through so much with support from healing hands 4 paws!
