Never once have they picked up a damn phone. I’ve tried calling SO MANY TIMES. And it sucks because the doctors there are fantastic but the reception and nurses are a joke. The last time they clipped my bigger dogs nails they cut it so short he bled all day. DO NOT recommend and will not be going back.

Welcome to Harrisburg Veterinary Clinic

Welcome to Harrisburg Veterinary Clinic, a Pet Hospital located at 1101 N Main St, Harrisburg, IL 62946, USA. We aim to provide veterinary care services to the local community. While the provided customer reviews offer insights into some aspects of the clinic, they primarily focus on communication and certain service experiences rather than the environment itself. Generally, a Pet Hospital like Harrisburg Veterinary Clinic would be expected to have examination rooms for consultations, treatment areas for various procedures, and potentially surgical suites and recovery areas, all maintained to ensure a clean and safe environment for your pets.

As a Pet Hospital, Harrisburg Veterinary Clinic likely offers a range of services to cater to the health needs of your animal companions. Based on typical veterinary clinics, these services often include:

  • General Health and Wellness: This includes routine check-ups, vaccinations, and preventative care such as parasite control.
  • Diagnostic Services: To identify health issues, clinics often provide laboratory services (blood tests, etc.) and imaging technologies like X-rays.
  • Medical Treatments: Veterinarians offer treatment for various illnesses and injuries.
  • Surgical Procedures: This can range from routine surgeries like spaying and neutering to more specialized procedures.
  • Dental Care: Services related to your pet's oral health, such as cleanings and dental examinations.
  • Nail Trimming: As mentioned in one of the reviews, nail trimming is a service offered, although the experience described was negative.

The customer reviews provide a mixed perspective on Harrisburg Veterinary Clinic. One reviewer explicitly states that "the doctors there are fantastic," which is a significant positive aspect, indicating expertise and quality in veterinary care provided by the physicians. Another reviewer echoes this sentiment, mentioning, "I take all my animals here love the staff." This suggests that, beyond the doctors, some members of the staff are well-regarded by at least one client.

However, both reviews highlight significant concerns regarding the clinic's phone communication. One reviewer stated, "Never once have they picked up a damn phone. I’ve tried calling SO MANY TIMES," leading to a decision not to return. The second reviewer also reported similar issues, saying, "I've called at least 27 times and NOT A SINGLE PERSON ANSWERED!!!!" This indicates a potentially serious problem with their phone answering system or staffing related to phone communication, making it difficult for clients to reach the clinic to schedule appointments or for other inquiries.

Furthermore, one of the reviews recounts a negative experience with a specific service, stating, "The last time they clipped my bigger dogs nails they cut it so short he bled all day. DO NOT recommend and will not be going back." This incident raises concerns about the consistency and quality of certain routine procedures performed at the clinic.

Based on these reviews, key features of Harrisburg Veterinary Clinic include having "fantastic" doctors and a staff that at least one client loves. However, significant drawbacks appear to be the unreliability of phone communication and potentially inconsistent quality in certain services like nail trimming. These issues have led at least two reviewers to express strong dissatisfaction.

Currently, there is no information provided regarding any promotional offers at Harrisburg Veterinary Clinic. Pet hospitals sometimes have special offers for new clients or discounts on certain services. To find out if Harrisburg Veterinary Clinic has any current promotions, you would need to contact them directly, which, based on the reviews, might be challenging via phone.

For local users in Harrisburg, IL, Harrisburg Veterinary Clinic is located on N Main St. The clinic is noted to have excellent doctors and a staff that some clients appreciate. However, there are significant concerns raised in the reviews regarding the lack of phone communication and a negative experience with nail trimming. If you are considering this Pet Hospital, you may want to be aware of these issues. Given the difficulty reported in reaching them by phone, you might need to visit in person to make appointments or inquiries.

In summary, Harrisburg Veterinary Clinic has received feedback highlighting the quality of their doctors and the friendliness of some staff members. However, there are critical concerns regarding the lack of responsiveness to phone calls and at least one instance of a poorly performed routine service. Potential clients should weigh these factors when considering this Pet Hospital for their pet care needs. To attempt to contact them, you can call (618) 252-2728 or +1 618-252-2728, or visit their location at 1101 N Main St, Harrisburg, IL 62946, USA.

I've called at least 27 times and NOT A SINGLE PERSON ANSWERED!!!!. I take all my animals here love the staff but they need to do better on answering. I shouldn't have to drive 45+ minutes to make an appointment.

They let my dog bleed out for hours and prioritized vaccinations & other non emergent animals. They continued to discourage me from going elsewhere until I did anyway. I drove a town over & that vet was literally PULLED OUT OF THEIR APPOINTMENT to immediately look at how bad my dog was, & then immediately took him back for surgery. Do NOT take your animal to these quacks at Hburg Vet Clinic. It could cost you your dog.

The good: This clinic is great! I never have any complaints about staff, and when we had an aggressive dog, they worked with us in making her comfortable. They have treated our pets for a few years, and always ease our concerns and give what I feel is excellent care. The bad: My only complaint, they rarely answer the phone. There have been multiple times (non-urgent)I've called multiple times a day for a week/weeks with no answer. There have also been multiple times I've called for more urgent matters, and have had to physically go in the office to make an appointment because the phones aren't being answered. I don't know if it's just a high call volume, or if the staff is too busy. I've only had the busy tone twice during all of my attempted calls. The only reason for the 4-star rating is the difficulty with contacting someone during business hours. If it wasn't for that, I would easily give them 5 stars!
